The hotel has complete facilities, clean rooms, and a warm service attitude. Xiao Qiao and Xiao Qiu are proactive in their service. They poured pear water while waiting for check-in, and reminded us whether we needed to bring water on the way when we left the hotel. They were meticulous in their overall service. In addition, the hotel breakfast was also very good, with a wide variety and very healthy! Finally, the hotel's location is also very good. The surrounding area is quiet, but it is very close to the South Station and the subway station. You can walk there, which is very convenient. It is a hotel worth staying in.

Good, clean, complete things, and a small refrigerator, mineral water is also placed inside, the front desk is warm. There are many buses around, and the 66th road at the door goes directly to the Qianmen bus station. It is especially convenient to go to the City Hall. The subway station can ride a small bicycle in the past, which is also convenient. Specialty store Daoxiang Village is also across the road, and you can also find it nearby, although not too much.

Good clean hotel. Good spread at breakfast. Rooms are above average decor. It seems to be a favourite with the Chinese middle class.
We stayed only one night and planned to catch a train from the Beijing south railway station.
The hotels very close to the station which was our very reason for booking it.
Though we cut out 90% of the traffic jam, br aware the jam at the station still took us 20 mins to clear.
The reception staff were most helpful and friendly. But it may also be due to the fact that I speak Chinese mandarin.
They even helped us book a taxi the next morning to take us tpnthe train station

The hotel receptionists and staffs were nice and kind. We stayed at Shangdu hotel for 3 days. Cleanliness and services were remarkable.
Note: the staffs do not speak in English, but they use translation apps to communicate clearly. That was very hardworking.

Newly renovated hotel. Room is spacious, new and clean, well designed, good air conditioning, comfy bed with fluffy pillows, good towels & toiletries/hair dryer, bottled water, soft drinks, coffee & tea sachets provided FOC etc, fruit baskets on the first day - overall a very comfortable stay and we love it!
We seldom write a review about our hotel accommodation but for this particular stay we feel obliged to write a complimentary review because of the super nice and polite hotel staff! We must give a big shout-out especially to ę„čä½³ - she was always so helpful with beaming & lovely smiles, super polite & warm; her service came with a personal feel and sincerity you rarely get with other hotel staff. For info, we stayed at quite a few hotels in our 16-day trip to China and we didn't meet any other hotel staff as good as ę„å “ä½³. Other staff like å¼ éŖę« and others at the hotel are also very polite and nice. TThe Bit SpaceHighly recommended to experience the taste of Courtyard ę°å® ååé¢. Very convenient location, right at Qianmen. No need to worry about food and drinks, as you are just seconds away from DaShiLan street. The subway is also nearby as well as major attractions such as Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum. The staff are friendly and attentive, always greeting you when you enter and exit the lobby, and even offering warm drinks during this cold winter.

GGuest UserThe hotel has warm service, clean and tidy, and a superior location, which makes it very convenient to go to the Old Summer Palace and the Summer Palace. The hotel staff is warm and helpful, and the room price is very affordable, with high cost performance!
You can also write the word āFuā when you check in on the first day of the Chinese New Year, and paste it on the door yourself, which makes you feel the New Year's atmosphere when you are away from home
JJulia CLWe got confused after we checked in and noticed that there wasn't a door into the bathroom. Called the housekeeping, and they informed that the door was removed because it was spoilt. I think its rather irresponsible to not inform beforehand. The room was changed after complaining. The new room, not sure if it's because it's winter, it's like a sauna in the room! Even the corridor is cooler than the room! There is nothing we can do to adjust the temperature and with the direct sunlight shining in, it just makes it worse.
During checking in, I enquired about some day tours but the front office staff couldn't give much information. Generally, the staff are not very enthusiastic and friendly.
The plus point is the location. It is about 5 mins walk from Xidan metro station. Lots of food and shopping around the hotel.
CCricket geniusThis hotel is very pleasant. The rooms are clean and modern, even if not particularly spacious, and I enjoyed seeing and hearing the robots as they moved around the reception area into the lifts. The breakfast was superb ā varied food, and lots of it. The staff were wonderful, although not much English was spoken. The location is great, being at the junction of two subway lines and the Capital Airport Express. The only possible downside was that the aircon didnāt work particularly well in the rooms, although Iām told the weather was unusually warm for the March 2025 days when I stayed.
I'm not quite sure where I should provide some comments about travelling around Beijing. It can be quite a culture challenge if, like me, it is your first visit to Beijing, and you do not speak the language. The usual approach for any visitor to a foreign country is to ask staff at your hotel, or to stop passersby, or to consult something like Google Maps. The first two of these are possible, but, in view of the lack of any widespread use of English by the Chinese, the answers provided might not be readily understood by the questioner.
This situation is not helped by the fact that the English translations of various Chinese place names can have different spellings, which makes it hard to identify where exactly any particular place is located. In addition, the Beijing subway is vast, and can take a long time to travel around. The interchange between lines can be as much as 10-15 minutes. Yet further, the subway stations themselves are massive, with sometimes as many as six exits. These are also sometimes 10 or 15 minutes walk away from each other. So there is a risk that you could emerge into the open air without really knowing where you are. For info, I attach a March 2025 photo of a plan of the Beijing subway. I suggest visitors get to know this well, taking care that you don't confuse (as happened with me!) one like-sounding station with another.
As for online maps, the great Chinese firewall makes it tricky to consult and use the Internet with any great facility. I found that it took a long time to plan any travel around the city. For instance, I wanted to visit the Marco Polo bridge, which in 1937 was the scene of a skirmish, or battle, between the Japanese and the Chinese in 1937. But could I work out how to get to this site? In a word, no. I simply could not establish the route, or how long it would take, or which suburban railway or subway line I should use. So I gave up. I suspect that it would be possible with some form of guided tour but that would need to be planned in advance. I could also have used a taxi, I suppose, except I couldn't get to grips with the ride hailing app Didi.
In summary, Beijing is a lovely place. The architecture is amazing. The people are friendly. Hotels are affordable and clean. One feels safe. Food is tasty. The culture and history is, naturally, sensational. I'm very much in favour in fostering good relations between the West and China. But western tourists should suspend your normal approach to sightseeing. Be prepared for internet restrictions, and language issues, to make it a lot harder than usual to get around or visit places. The authorities and the various travel organisations steer you towards organised tours, so maybe the best idea is to buy into this concept. Or perhaps you can get a Chinese buddy to explain things. So my advice is to visit Beijing with an open mind and be prepared to be patient, and play by the rules rather than trying to be too independent.

CCHIT NYI KYAW WINMy first time at Beijing and our whole trip was very smooth. Among the trip plan, the most satisfying thing is staying at this hotel.
First of all, It is at the perfect location ( just go out the hotel and it is a famous pedestrian street where several Micheline restaurants are located and if you go north, there are numerous attractions places. Zhushikou Metro exit A is just 2 minutes walk.)
The employees at front desk are pretty and very helpful.
The rooms are very clean and smell nice.
Even the aisle between the rooms are very beautifully decorated.
And the last, the price is the best. I bet you can't find a hotel like this anywhere in Beijing with such affordable price for a few days trip.
I would definitely stay here again if I ever happen to come Beijing in the future.

VvictorngwlThe amenities are fantastic, with a washing machine in the apartment itself, quite useful for long travels. There is also a very well equipped gym and a large swimming pool. The apartment is furnished luxuriously and there is also a kitchen.
There are many restaurants and eateries just adjacent to the hotel, along with supermarkets. The nearest metro station is however about 5 to 8 minutes walk away.
The staff here are all helpful and polite. Special thanks to Cherry, who made my check-in process pleasant and is very helpful. Also many thanks to the cleaner Miao Hongyan who is meticulous and thoughtful when attending to our needs.
Will definitely stay there again!
DDr. Julio BernalWe love this hotel for the location and the size of the room. The place is very luxurious but one thing that can be improved is the temperature for the rooms. They over used the heater and we had to ask to lower it. It still felt too warm. We asked them to open the room window but still it was too hot. The breakfast was very good with some room for improvement. The buffet looked cramped in an area of the restaurant. The location of some of the items wasnāt the most strategically. For instance, to grab some fruit you have to be practically on top of other items of the salad bar. People could literally breath on top of the food. Overall this hotel is great but it needs a major upgrade in the rooms and the wet area of the gym/pool. The showers there need some work. The steam room wasnāt working. Only the dry sauna worked. It need better cleaning as well
AaimeeeasyrafffffWe are 2 friends and both are new to Beijing and let alone China. We are first time here.
For me the room is great enough, light was all working fine. The toothbrush and soap provided but need to get from reception.
I was using iPhone so I cannot use the WiFi as it only works with Android due to firewall.
Location wise I think it is easy to find even with Google Map. For those using Metro, Dongsi Station Exit G is the nearest one, while Exit D is the second nearest. Two main metro line to Dongsi Station is Metro Line 5 & 6. But we normally use line 6 because it is nearest to Exit G.
The area is close to Forbidden Palace, you can get there with one change of metro service.
When I went to Forbidden Palace, I did go there using Metro then walk back as it is only around 1.6km walking after the Exit at Forbidden Palace and took about 20 minutes walking. I did use Baidu map to walk to the hotel from Forbidden Palace and you will take short cuts which will end up at the back of Renaissance Hotel. Tips : mark the hotel in Baidu map so you can easily get the map working especially if cannot speak Chinese like me.
On Dongsi West St there is National Art Museum and it is free. I did went there alone after checkout, there are 6 floors of exhibits there.
Walk to Wangfujing shopping st would take you around 15 minutes. The famous Prime Hotel Beijing is like 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Not much to do at night as shops literally close early at around 8PM to 9PM except for McDonaldās which close at 11PM like 5 minutes walk from hotel.
There is a mosque near hotel if you are Muslim like me but the mosque is a bit run down and closes its door and you need to ask the caretaker to open the door if you want to pray.
Overall Iām satisfied with the hotel which I think is very basic and fits our budget. I wish there is a cupboard inside the room for us to hang out clothes and fridge. The toilet however is spacious and hot water can only be used for 20 minutes then we need to wait again for 30 minutes for it to replenish which is a problem if there are a lot of people to take shower at same time.
Improvement for hotel :
1 Put small cupboard in room for guest to hang clothes.
2 Change the curtain as it is very old and looks like not wash for long time.
3 Better if room has small fridge for guest to store food.
Getting there : Metro from took like 50 minutes with 3 changes in metro line. For me it is very easy, and cheap cost like 40RMB in Alipay.
Overall the surrounding maybe take 2 days for you to be familiar with but I think it is good enough as there are McDonalds, Luckin coffee and also bakery near the hotel like 5 minutes walk. Small convenience store is there in the back alley but close like at 8PM.
Reason I chose this hotel :
1 Your taxi can get there straight in front of hotel as it is not in Forbidden Palace area where some place taxi cannot get in and you need to carry your bag through busy street
2 Easy access as you walk 10 minutes from Dongsi Station Exit G/D to get to hotel
3 Near Dongsi mosque if you want to pray if youāre muslim
4 Very quiet area as a bit far from Forbidden Palace area or Wangfujing
5 Lots of shops to eat and cafe on Dongsi N st or Meishuguan E st near the Prime Beijing Hotel
6 A few halal muslim restaurant for you to eat if you are picky eater and not familiar with convenience store food
7 When go out of hotel turn left at end of the Dadoufu Ln there is small convenience you can buy food but close early around 8PM.
