Room was excellent, recently refurbished, USB C (and older USB) outlets to charge devices, rain head shower, quiet aircon, and quiet bar fridge. In-house Japanese restaurant was great, as was the breakfast option (how can bacon be made even better? char grill it!). Staff were friendly, price was low, location was close to public transport and scooter rank (if that's your thing) no complaints at all, will definitely go back when in Brisbane.

GGuest User2023.07.22
The newly-opened voco is a delightful hotel hidden inside an otherwise slightly dreary-looking building. From the outside it looks a tad unappealing, but inside it's been thoroughly rennovated and is quite snazzy. Reception are friendly and the foyer breathes modern. The corridors to the rooms are quite dark and nothing special, but inside, the rooms have been re-built to look and feel quite luxurious for business-traveller standards. Breakfast was an excellent spread and the view from the high-floored rooms are quite nice. One thing to note: there's currently (July '23) major roadworks taking place one block away down North Quay, the road out the front of the hotel. There was no noise in the hotel but traffic out the front of the hotel moves at a snail's pace as a result. For taxi drop-off/pickups, ask for the corner of George St and Ann St. It's a 100m walk and you'll save lots of time.

I loved the Brisbane Hyatt. I ended up spending four more nights there and it just couldn’t get enough. It was centrally located. I was able to get around town very easily. I was able to walk over to the wonderful Parkland lake where the big party is in the middle of town where everybody’s at the beach and playing volleyball having fun The food was exceptional. The service was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was modern and clean and eco-friendly so all in all I was quite impressed and I’m sure I’ll be back in the future. Thank you very much! I’m a big fan.

An older Sofitel compared to some others I stay at as a an Accor Platinum member but my experiences have all been quite postive when I stay here. Staff as usual were very friendly and helpful which is what brings me back to Accot hotels, and the fact my room is almost always ready early. Quite a large hotel with a few different options for food and drinks. The breakfast is quite good, alot of options and plenty of room to sit and relax. The gym is on the smallish side but nice pool and amenities. My King room was quite dated badly in need of a renovation but its quite big and the bed was comfortable. Parking can be a bit difficult at times. The location is very convenient if you are coming by train and its only 5 minutes walk into the CBD. Overall a good hotel and experience.

Booked 2 bedroom apartment but was given 3 bedrooms instead. King size bed and single bedded rooms have windows, queen size bed without windows. All rooms have air conditioning. Room allocated didnt have a proper dining area, had 3 bar chairs with a small area. Took turns to have our meals. Sofa was great with recliners but too small for family of 4. Bread toaster and all appliances were clean and in order. Short walk to Botanic gardens, Queen Street mall and we were able to walk to South Bank. Free Cityhopper ferries at Riverside Terminal which is within walking distance too. Encountered an usual foggy morning and a fascinating view!
Overall a great stay!

It was a very nice relaxing stay, the included breakfast we paid for was great a good variety to choose from, location is good as it is opposite the gardens and good for early morning walks before breakfast, loved how the hotel kept some of it's yesteryear charm in the foyer and restaurant...made you think what it was like back in it's heyday, definitely coming back again

Loved our stay at Stamford Plaza and we were there for about 2 weeks in a Suite. Huge rooms seperate lounge, huge dressing room and bathroom and the view was spectacular. The position is fabulous and you just walk out to the riverfront and all the great restaurants are there. Will stay again if we travel to Brisbane.

Excellent
GGuest UserStayed as family of four (teenagers) in one bedroom suite. Got early checkin and late checkout on Friday night which was great. There's no view in the room but wasn't much of an issue. The pool was great, but the swim up bar wasn't open on Friday, despite the homepage saying it is. It was open on Saturday but we were getting ready to checkout so really wasn't in the drinking phase. The executive lounge had good choice of food and drinks. They only had beers and wines so no spirits, even basics. The rooms were spacious. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly and there was no lock which was bit inconvenient. The sofa bed was bit small for 2 ppl and the king bed was very spacious. Overall it was great hotel for an overnight stay as family. Would highly recommend
GGuest UserWhilst our stay in the Hotel X Suite was pleasant, there was nothing memorable about it. The suite was spacious, fitted with modern conveniences (ie. electric blockout curtains, Dyson hairdryer, zip tap and smart tv) and was generally comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom lacked privacy as it overlooked the street and directly faced another building across the road so the blinds were always drawn preventing natural light from coming in. Also, there is no separate toilet with lockable door. Although, the toiletries were nice and the shower quite spacious. Service was friendly but lacked a personal touch. Breakfast at Bisou Bisou had a limited menu but the food was overall good. The rooftop bar (Iris) had great views, a good tapas menu and relaxing vibe. The location of the hotel is convenient, within walking distance of the buzzing James Street precinct and a short car ride to the city centre.
This hotel is stunning. The staff at check in & out were super friendly. Room was modern, very clean and the bed was huge & extremely comfortable. Close to shops, restaurants. Public transport and the city. Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in the deluxe room on level 1. Only let down is, there is no restaurant at the hotel so no breakfast room service.
GGuest UserWe stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.
GGuest UserI had a perfectly pleasant stay until thhe day before I checked out when someone from reception entered the room (while I was in there) under the impression that I was supposed to have checked out. It was probably a simple mistake, which while invasive is also understandable. No apology, but they are mostly meaningless anyway and it probably wasn't the fault of the person who entered the room. Hadbit ended there I wouldn't have mentioned it, but the same thing happened again when despite the 'do not disturb' sign on the door housekeeping also entered the room also under the mistaken impression that I had checked out. I called reception after the second incident and was put on hold for 18 minutes before they eventually tried to put the blame on housekeeping (and repeatedly got my name wrong, which I wouldn't have cared about if it weren't for the being on hold and the weasily attempt to put what was clearly a reception error on the housekeeping staff). The whole incident left a lingering bad impression, which is unfortunate after an otherwise very pleasant and uneventful stay.
RRosemary EastonOn arrival, there was no booking. Cancelled dates, however, were located by reception. The dates booked was arrive 11th and check out on the 12th . This booking had been changed and trip.com sent confirmation. This had not been recorded. not the fault of the Wellington, but yours. Receptionist was able to retrieve payment for 10th. There is still another payment that has been taken from our account. I was promised this would be refunded in 10 to 14 days. I will be waiting for this. Fortunately, there was one room vacant and we did have a bed for the night. I will not be using trip.com for any further bookings.
The Wellington is in need of some updating. Chairs in room were average. Mattress should be replaced. Showers should be updated. The Tv would not connect to any free to air channels without major interference. Luckily Netflix worked. Providing a continental breakfast for over nighters would be appreciated and hopefully a restaurant will be reinstated.I have been staying there occasionally for twenty-two years and see the detioration of what was/ could be a four-star accommodation.
GGuest UserPretty good apartment but I wish there was at least a mini fridge, it's not accommodating for buying food or even drinks and keeping It cold it seems like they'd rather you buy food elsewhere and not have anywhere to keep it other than that it was good
GGuest UserRoom 13 - yea shall I say no more room 13 and it’s not great!! Bad points- No manned reception, was advised 3 hours before arrival must precheck in or will be denied a room after I fully paid for all rooms are pin only. I don’t have a problem great idea. The beds are one of the worst I’ve ever slept in. I travel to some of the worst places and there are beds better then these the main bed springs felt like they were breaking through the bed every turn was the noisiest would wake everyone in the room. The mattress felt over 30 years old worn and like you would fall through it. Great grandmas mattress is better The single bed was better but 4 people can sleep in one comfortable bed No extra pillows or blankets The floor had not been vacuumed all stuff in one area of the floor - room smelt clean (spritz spray) Dust everywhere, bugs in the room and holes in the bath towels. Mould in the shower all over the door The bathroom door had to be opened and closed with force Curtains have marks all over them not clean Aircon was particularly broken more cosmetic looks, chilled amazingly The room is right next to a main door everyone that comes in or out - slams the door all hours No soft closing hinge would be good if there was one wouldn’t be woken up with the slam every-time no Foxtel - no one made up your room like other motels the next day (no big deal just an fyi) When I arrived I had a toddler, child and 2 large bags and asked if there was lifts the staff lol and said the stairs are there and stayed sitting on the ground. I walked up the exit car park ramp with all bags and children ( no I’m not precious just not convenient) Holes in the wall in the main room near dining table Holes in walls in the bathroom Good points…. Great price Great location walking distance to Hamilton precinct IGA, Woolworths metro, lots of eateries and Eat St (amazing place of all types of food vans) Great distance walking distance to the ferries Out dates Furniture looked like it was from the 1970s (I don’t have an issue just an FYI) A little bar fridge with separate freezer was amazingly cold I wouldn’t rate this place 3.5/4 stars maybe 2.5-3 disappointed but you get what you pay for. I have some photos for proof of asked to supply .
GGuest UserI dont feel like its a 4/5 star hotel, old building and very small bath room, services were ok, the staffs were not professional enough! Just a simple question about breakfast buffet but had to ask 2 people to confirm and even they were not quite sure about it!
GGuest UserI wish I had of read these reviews prior to booking a room. I wanted something close to the airport and at last minute this was all that was left. I don't consider $148 a cheap room for 1 night, a shared backpackers room would of been cleaner. I got a text after booking and paying asking me to enter more details again including credit card, it said to upload a photo, didn't say upload your licence so therefor never sent the room code, when I rang I got a lady I could not understand who explained I didn't need to worry because I could do it at reception, when we arrived at reception the lady told me I MUST DO IT OR I CAN'T STAY!! 1hr later and 2 others in reception having the same issues we were given a room code, the room smelt like a dead wet dog, we were on ground level the curtain was see through and didn't block any of the elements out, the shower was that small you could only fit in one leg at a time.... prior to arriving I asked if they had a laundry on site I was told yes to only be told once checked in the washing machine is broken.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
