This hotel was rated 4 out of 5 stars on TA. I respectfully disagree! First, I'll share the positives.... the rooms were updated with laminate flooring, fixtures and colors. The breakfast was pretty decent with a nice selection of fruits, breads, juices and cereals and 2 hot items. For $225 per night, I had higher expectations. Now, my issues..... - From entering the building I got the feeling of a Hostel, not a hotel. The fact that there was a Hospitality Mgmt school to the right as you enter the building and the hotel to the left, made me a bit concerned. There were no barriers or locks between the 2 entities at any level. At one point, I had to walk around (a very RUDE) school employee to get our luggage up some steps by the school as she sat there and never moved away from the entry door to the Hotel side! - Front desk personnel was very direct and not exactly friendly (although she did help with my parking). There is NO ONE at the desk from ~19:00 through the morning. No one to contact if needed!! - THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS! You get one 3-level fan for circulation. It was 85 F during the day, which made it hot at night. Windows opened, but no screens. Very uncomfortable and not expected for a room of this price. - I booked a 3-bed room which was very tight for 3 people. Basically 3 twin beds and a bathroom (shower only) - The lock on the room door is UNSAFE! There is no regular locking door knob, You have to use the key to lock if from the inside and/or the outside. I needed to run to the car and wanted to lock the door as I left; I had to lock my family into the room in order to take the key, which was needed to enter the hotel front door, too. - I stopped at the front desk to get ice after check in and they responded that there was none. - The WI-FI WAS BAD!! It was constantly dropping the devices. Had to regularly ”forget” the network and re-registering for the Wi-Fi. - The shower head was a hand-held mounted on a vertical pole. The bracket that held the shower head would not stay in place and kept sliding down the pole.... made for a frustrating shower. - There is NO space to sit outside of this hotel. We had a 1st floor room with no balcony. The only space was a patio that was designated as a student smoking area (which happened to be right next to our room!!!) - Parking - Only 5 spaces behind the building; beyond that, not sure where to park. We were lucky to get a space, but the gate to get to the parking area is locked when the front desk person leaves, so had to walk 10 minutes around the block to get to my car in the evening. - There was a motion activated light in the area outside of our room window that continually lit up at night. I wasn't sure if there was someone out there or what was setting it off??? I would NOT recommend this hotel to my friends.
Very Good
