I have stayed here many times before and it has always been a very pleasant experience. Very central and walks-distance to just about everything. Sadly this time, the unit that we usually stay in was unavailable, so booked another similar one. Throughout the night, an alarm was going off continuously inside the unit, only to eventually figure out early hours of the morning that it was the fridge/freezer alarm. Informed Wellington that we had little to no sleep on check-out. His words: ”it does happen during load-shedding and he doesn't know why”. One could see that this was not the first time and nothing was done about it. Secondly, there was no load-shedding throughout the country over that weekend and hasn't been since. We only had one night that we could break-away from work to appreciate the quieter village life and it was so unpleasant. It could have been avoided if dealt with when detected the first time. Very disappointing.

Top hotel in Franschoek ideally located close to the Main Street. We were overnighting in the town and were pleasantly surprised by this gem of a hotel. Quaint, modern and quite private as there are not too many rooms. Rooms are spacious, neat, clean and recently refurbished. Ideally annexed to the Hussar grill that offers top quality cuisine. The property has a lot of potential. Rooms look very modern when arriving. However staying in the room has few flaws: 1) Bath in middle of room looks great but very impractical. It would however make a great spot for a dressing table and mirror with great lighting for a lady to do her makeup. 2) The shower and toilet in same area. No Privacy. The toilet gets wet from the shower. The floor stays wet for hours and if you used it your clothes would get wet. 3) Great lighting system. However it controls all the lights at once. Cam be dimmed as required but individual lights , like most guest houses, would be much better. 4) Staff are very friendly. However it is very obvious that the owner is not present on site. Place needs the personal touch. 5) Breakfasts are sufficient but rather poor choice. EG. Toast, but no jam, offered eventhough on menu. (Menu's need to be thrown away and clean ones used. Very offputting before a meal)

Absolutely stunning villas set high in the on the foot of the mountains overlooking to gorgeous Franschhoek valley. Staff was super nice and the villa of an extremely high quality.
