Comfort Suites Gallup East Route 66 and I-40

My Husband and I had a great short Stay. We had to stop due to bad weather. Rooms are very clean the staff was very friendly at check in. The breakfast was super good. We wil definitely stay there again when we go threw for a lo ger stay.thank you for a great stay.

Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed; the room itself was very clean, as was the bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good with mix of cold and hot foods; only suggestion would be to keep an eye on the coffee as it periodically ran out. Plenty of free parking also. We very much enjoyed our stay, but one caution: room location may make a big difference. Our room was quiet, but hotel is directly across the street from train tracks(with plenty of trains apparently) and a stone's throw from the interstate.

Had an ADA room with a walk-in shower with a seat in it. They also have a chair in the bathroom that someone else could use if you need help in the shower. Great item and never had one before, always had my wife stand when she helped me. Rest of room was very large with TV and heat & A/C working well. TV is DirectTV. The only bad thing was the bed being too high, had a hard time getting into it but the bed was comfortable once I did. Also had a couch in room. Overall, a great room. Room was 127

We were just passing through, so we only needed one night. Everyone was courteous, and the room was clean. The entire hotel was very patriotic and had a service member theme. The entire downstairs lobby was almost like a military museum, so that was cool. Walking distance to BBQ place and Dennys.

The hotel was nice, staff was pleasant, and room was cute and clean but the real reason to stay here is the military museum. I’ve been to museums that weren’t this nicely laid out with so many exhibits, we had to go three times to make sure we caught it all. Be sure to stop in the Code Talkers conference room - we’ll done and beautiful from head to toe!

Gallup is full of hotel chains. We’ve previously stayed at the El Rancho, an older property that was big in the movies heyday. This trip we are less interested in an experience than in an easy stay. Deciding is difficult. It came down to perceived comfort and price. We chose the Comfort Suites on the eastern outskirts of town. This is a newish, smaller property with the usual amenities. The room is fine, clean and well maintained with a king bed, two bed tables, a nice seating area (askew), a writing desk/chair, a small credenza. Works just fine. They advertize their 'Grab 'n Go' breakfast. We expected a Continental breakfast. This was a bit more. We even thought we would need to go elsewhere for breakfast. Well, it was better than anticipated. It was a bit more than the Continental breakfast we expected. Having said that, it was a typical chain hotel breakfast – eggs, sausage patties, posole (that was one of the surprises), coffee, small cartons of OJ. Nice breakfast area with tables scattered around. Not many people. Started us off well.

Easy on easy off of I-40. Young man at desk was very nice - patient, welcoming, helpful, kind, and found us two adjoining rooms. Rooms were nice sized suites, clean, had refrig with a small freezer, a heater that set a nice temperature and fan that ran quietly and constantly with no clicking on and off, sitting area, and comfy beds with super bedding and pillows. The pool was under repair so we didn’t use it. No time for fitness room either. Breakfast was average but the lady who worked there was fantastic and helped me two different times! Decent coffee too. Was all carpeted (I prefer hardwood floors ) and the bathroom was wallpapered, but we’d stay again

The room was perfect. Very clean, comfortable bed, quiet. An excellent value. Breakfast was fine. (I'm always looking for fruit, protein of some sort, quality tea, etc.) Very unique "military museum" in the lobby area!

Total bait & switch offer. Got into town late from driving my stuff in moving truck across country. Gallup was a stop on my way East. I saw a great last minute deal for a room & booked it. I arrived & was completely exhausted. I went up to my rm on the 3rd floor. Surprise, this was the old floor that was under renovation. It smelled awful like musty, moldy towels. The room was dated from the 80’s at best. Old carpet, peeling wallpaper. I always do a bedbug check first thing, so put the luggage in bathtub and started. Pulled the bedding up and no bedbug proof mattress cover was on bed. There was bloodstains on mattress where clearly there has been bedbugs before. I called front desk, they came up & took a picture, and moved me a couple doors down. Again with the check, bc that’s exactly what you want to do after driving all day long. Checked everywhere and no signs of bugs, so I crashed. I did not feel safe there as a woman travelling alone. There were strange ppl walking around parking lot & I was worried for my stuff in the moving truck. They booked me a “deal” rate and put me in the gross area where construction was being done, not the newer, nicer rooms on the 1st or 2nd floors. Would NEVER stay there again!
