Our room had a magnificent view of the Li River. The sightseeing spots in Guilin City were all in walkable distance of the hotel. The breakfast had a good amount of variety and you can even get the typical Guilin Rice Noodles if you want. The service was over the top (everyone was super friendly and attentive). If you have any questions the staff replies to your messages within minutes. We were asked if the breakfast is alright or if they should prepare a more western one for us. They probably also saw our bin filled with empty water bottles and provided us 1.5L bottles for free 😂 Will most certainly recommend this hotel to my friends and family and would also come myself again!

It was great time to stay at Shangrila in Guilin. All workers are very nice and kind. One of the worker even helped my son blow his nose! The hotel is just beside the river so it’s nice to take a walk. By using share bike, it takes 15 min to get the city side. I think it’s convenient enough and ridding share bike during trip is also good experience. Our highlight is the last night with Peach & Aries at the bar in Shangrila. Their music was awesome and they also let my wife sing with them. Playing some Japanese songs means a lot to me.

Hotel is located at the centre of Guilin. It is close to elephant trunk hill and tons of restaurants. It offers free Guilin art experience. My son got to learn ancient printing and art work. The food street is just right behind the hotel and 15-20mins walk to Dongxi lane and jingjiang prince palace. Excellent service. We left our power bank and they sent it back to me. We had a great time there.

Super reasonable 5star accommodation at the fraction of cost. If one is free to use didi(Chinese version of Uber), location isn’t such a big issue. However, if one expect not only comfy room but also requires 5star service, I recommend pay more for global brand hotel. Breakfast was good enough for those who are already accustomed to Chinese style. All staffs were very kind, helpful, and enough for Chinese local hotel. Stayed for 2days and fairly satisfied especially room conditions and cleanness. The only issue that I wasn’t comfortable was the lousy atmosphere at the lobby and breakfast. However, I am well satisfied with the super reasonable value. I will definitely consider back on my next visit to Guilin for sure.

Bo Yin Hotel (Li River Secluded Hotel) Our visit to Guilin was to spend time with my wife’s large family and we twice stayed at the Li River Secluded hotel, for a total of 7 nights. Our expectations of a hotel experience are high, so we avoid using American chain hotels when possible. The Li River Secluded hotel more than met those expectations by combining exceptional customer service with a laid back, but luxurious guest experience. On arrival, we were offered a room upgrade. The upgrade accommodation was located on the ground floor, so this did not appeal to us until we were shown the room … the suite was spacious and tastefully furnished with a Zen motif that included a ceremonial tea table. Both my wife and I practice daily yoga, so the ample floor space immediately appealed to us. A room-width picture window featured a view of the Li River Lake and its pair of pagodas. Remote-controlled drapes and shears sound-proofed and eliminated light from the room when closed. A buffet daily breakfast on the 8th (top) floor was included and featured a good selection of both Chinese and Western options. We had family commitments that prevented us from eating dinner at the restaurant, but my wife hosted an afternoon tea session in the restaurant for some of her friends and the tea and pastries were excellent. In addition, fresh fruit was placed in the room every day, and the room refrigerator was refreshed daily with water, sodas, and snacks. The hotel was generally maintained in pristine condition and effected the highest standards of cleanliness. This applied to all the facilities apart from a small exercise room on the 5th floor. This consisted of a set of barbells (no bench), a fixed weight station (functional), and 2 treadmills, neither of which functioned properly … that said, I did use the weight station and the patio outside of the exercise room for yoga on a couple warmer days. There was also a guest laundry on the 5th floor which my wife used on one occasion. The customer service attitude in Chinese hotels is generally an improvement on what we are accustomed to in North America, but at the Bo Yin Hotel it’s exceptional. This means that English language speakers (I’m Canadian and my wife is Chinese by birth) would experience no problem in addressing any of the front desk, maid, or restaurant personnel. For those who prefer to order take-out food, a robotic delivery service is used, a feature that tends to fascinate any child you might be traveling with. Sean Bennett

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The room was spacious and clean. There was a bit of dust since my nose is quite sensitive but it can be ignored. The family room, although it's huge is located at the top floor... 😵‍💫 So we had to carry our bags and walk up and down but if we do have a takeaway delivered the reception sends the delivery upstairs. We only needed to go down if we want to buy any drinks from them. There was no breakfast and we were directed to a nearby local traditional shop that sells noodles and more. We arrived around 8 pm and we had dinner at the next door restaurant where the food was extremely delicious. Seven Star Park was walking distance and we went there during our stay. Walking around the Lijiang river was fun too! If you plan to be in Guilin City, this hotel is highly recommended. You can just cross over the bridge and find many scenic spots by walking or electric bike.

The location of the homestay is very good. It is just across the river from the downtown area on the edge of the Li River. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the East and West Alleys. The style of the room is simple in Japanese style. Sitting on the rooftop on the top floor, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the sunset blowing the breeze is so comfortable! The service is really intimate and sincere. We are young people, so the Raiders are almost done, but in the store, we saw a pair of uncles and aunts around 60 years old who were consulting for travel. The housekeeper was very patient and told them how to play Guilin to help them avoid the pit. All in all, it's great!

This location is very quiet, because surrounded by new buildings, it takes about ten minutes to walk to the riverside. The scenery along the river is good and comfortable, except for the inconvenience of eating. The room was clean and I booked a duplex room. It happened to be a family of six, but it was still painful without an elevator. I had to move large boxes to the fourth floor. It is recommended that you do not bring too much luggage if you want to live, unless you are on the second floor. The landlord was very enthusiastic and helped us move some of our luggage, because we took the two children and couldn’t get it, and the parents’ legs were not very good. Thank you very much to the landlord.

Excellent! What a bargain. Great value for money! The hotel is clean and tidy, quiet and has good service. It is more comfortable than the five-star hotel I stayed in in Sanya. My children especially like the paintings here. There is delicious Guilin rice noodles nearby. A bowl of it costs only 7 yuan. There are so many delicious foods in Guilin. The hotel is very close to the Li River. It was so comfortable to eat in the evening. I took my children to four cities during the winter vacation, and I was the happiest at the last stop in Guilin😃.

The house is by the river. It's big and quiet. The apricots provided by the store are so sweet. The breakfast is delicious. I love choosing this place when traveling! The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and helped us book a chartered car to the Longji Rice Terraces, a cruise to Yangshuo, an evening cruise to the two rivers and four lakes, etc. The prices were very reasonable. I went to Guilin Shanshui Green City with my boyfriend to check in. I saw many homestays on the Lijiang River. I finally chose this one. It was really great to live in. The scenery was beautiful and the surrounding traffic was convenient. It was just by the Li River. The soft and beautiful sunset made me feel more attached to the city of Guilin. I will choose next time.
