Bedpark Stellingen

Although the hotel is a little outside the city centre, it is directly at a S-train/bus stop. Directly opposite is a bakery and a kiosk with good opening times. The hotel itself is modern and tastefully furnished. We had an apartment with refrigerator, dish and furniture. The beds and bathroom were modern and comfortable. Continue to be recommended without conditions.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Room was unusually large. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning which meant my room was like an oven. The staff kindly made available a large fan. Much appreciated. Breakfast was very nicely presented with a good choice but no fresh machine coffee was a shame. Lovely fresh orange juice. But... When I checked in I had distinctly said I needed to check out 1 day early. In clear German. No possibility of them not understanding this. When I tried to pay my bill the night before I was told I would have to pay the full amount. I was met with 4 members of staff talking at me telling me I was wrong. Well Boston Hotel. You are wrong! I confirmed with my booking agent (at midnight!) that I did indeed have a flexible booking and I am permitted to check out early. I had given 2 days notice. My booking agent will now be escalating this matter. I am looking forward to their response. I refuse to be intimidated into paying for something I have not had! After 30min of discussion and disagreement I was told to sleep on it and speak with the manager the next morning. I did this and was told again that I would have to pay the full amount. I knew I was in the right so I rang the police for advice who were excellent. They told me not to pay for something I have not received. I took the policeman's name and number. I informed reception that I will pay for the days I have been present and no more. Eventually the hotel agreed. I had been prepared to walk out without paying because they were making every excuse under the sun to force me to pay the full amount. The police said not paying would be ok provided I leave my details. But it would be a civil matter if I do not pay but I must leave my contact details. I was prepared to do this. Appreciate the friendliness of the young man at reception in comparison to the others! An exception. Of course, it is unlikely I will return to this hotel. Nevertheless, this is most likely an unfortunate individual experience. The hotel is nice, modern, comfortable and clean. Apart from the check out fiasco I would still recommend this hotel. Albeit extremely hot in summer! Be careful if you also need to check out early!

First glance hotel was clean nice staff and a decent place to stay. Unfortunately my two night stay was somewhat ruined by a major plague of bed bugs in my hotel room which I’m now having to deal with. I must have 100 bites or more, really unpleasant. I know that this is not the sign of a dirty hotel and they have assured me ( too late now of course) that they take every precaution. The hotel have been fairly understanding on this matter but I won’t be staying there again which is a shame, if you do decide to stay here, check the beds when you arrive! Sorry intercity but I do think I need to let people know before they check in.

Positive: From the price performance perspective it is a nice hotel to stay overnight or at most two nights. Clean rooms and bedding. Small rooms, but comfortable. A very nice local bar/pub beside the hotel where you can eat, drink and watch sport games Negative: Not enough electric sockets. None beside or close to the beds. Hardtime if you have sleeping aid machine. I had to ask an extension cable and multi socket and they provided. Car parking in 5 min walking distance not a big deal, but dropping off or loading your luggages at the front door of the hotel is problematic. Either you block the bike road or sidewalk or have to stay in a paid park area. Each time you get punished by local people :) The worst thing we experienced was the outage of the internet and they could not fix it in 48 hours.

We decided on the 25hrs hotel in Bahrenfeld as it had good parking facilities. I'm very pleased we did. After staying in a 'not so nice' hotel for the previous two nights of our little tour of northern Germany, our room at 25 hours was lovely and clean and had a nice fresh smell. By comparison it was an oasis of down to earth luxury!!!! The S-bahn was a very short walk away and only took around 11 minutes to get to the centre of Hamburg (we did walk to the Landungsbrucken area one day as we wanted the fresh air and it was perfectly manageable, perhaps would take to long for some). There are shops and a little café very close to the hotel, so ideal if you need to get some essentials. The staff simply could not have been more helpful, from recommendations on where to go for food and drinks to extra pillows or trying to boost the poor wi-fi nothing seemed to be a problem. My only issue, and a very minor complaint was the shower curtain. Whilst very clean, it did keep attaching itself to my legs, which I hate. The shower was both hot and powerful, which perhaps didn't help the curtain staying where it should have. That minor gripe aside, we had a lovely two nights in this hotel and I would certainly make another booking if I returned to Hamburg.
