The front desk was on the second floor. The first floor is 7-Eleven. The number of multi-storey car parks attached to the hotel was small, and when it was full, the affiliated parking lot was very far away. One blue sky parking lot was vacant, but it didn't stop me. There was a parking lot other than the affiliation nearby. It is good that the bathroom has a bathtub and a washroom. The room is not large. There are many times when the front desk is congested. There was a 7-Eleven on the first floor and it was convenient. The bar area is close, so it is convenient to walk when eating out.

Absence de parking dans l’hôtel . Les parkings situés en face sont hors de prix, mais la réception a des accords avec un partenaire situé un peu plus loin pour 1200 yens les 24 heures. A négocier avant séjour ou sur place. Je remercie les 2 personnes qui ont essayé de résoudre une demande de réservation de ferry, que je ne pouvais effectuer seul sur deux websites complètement en japonais.

I used it for my stay after the banquet at Ku 々. The location from the city is good and there are several large parking lots around, so it is convenient. It was ７９００ yen before the holiday, so I wonder if it was a little higher than before. It can't be helped because prices are high. However, the breakfast (bread) that was included for free was charged ５００ yen. I just stay, so the room doesn't matter if it's a little small, but when I stayed at Ku 々, I felt a little smaller than others. Well, I'm just consulting with the price. This seems to have changed to the type that the amenities take from the front desk, and when you forget it, you have to go back to the first floor again, whether it is annoying or giving up. Now, the hotel accommodation fee is rising and rising, so if you just drink and sleep, isn't it more than normal at all?

Because it is close to downtown, there is no complaint about the meal and the movement from Kumamoto station and Sakuramachi bus terminal. The design is stylish and has a youthful feel, and the breakfast is also excellent. The walking space in the room is narrow. No bottled water, slippers, etc. are provided. The dressing area is dark. Although there is a light booth above, I can't see the mirror clearly (it's difficult to put on makeup). The straight mirror is also dark. A very nice, modern hotel in the heart of the Kumamoto shopping district - very convenient location, right at the cross section of the two major covered shopping thoroughfares. Check-in only at 3pm and is an automated check-in/check-out system. Staff are very helpful and friendly. At check-in, you are free to choose your amenities from a very wide selection, including bath salts, face cleanser, moisturizer, coffee, green tea, etc. There is a giant tv in the room. No bottled water is provided. The room offers a full robe (short yukata and pants!). The rooms itself are very modern and renovated. There are two Family Marts and a 7-11 within a block of the hotel, as well as many dining and retail options within short walking distance. It is about a 15 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and a 30 minute walk to Kumamoto Station.

This is our third time using the Richmond hotel in Kumamoto. The rooms are clean. It has its own laundry room for guests. It’s close to popular public transport. The Sakura Machi bus depot is a five minute walk away, along with the tram stations. Kumamoto train station is a ten minute tram ride away. Walk out the front door and you are right at the start of the Kumamoto shopping district with restaurants close buy. It’s convenient and priced well hence the five star rating.

We stayed for 3 nights. The service was outstanding. All staff were very polite and professional. The room was very clean, nice size, and super comfortable with a river view. We had a guest and they gave a parking validation. The breakfast was amazing with various choices. The location is convenient to the downtown and also JR train station. We will definitely stay again.

This hotel is located within a short walking distance from the Kumamoto station. From the JR bstation exit it is on the left, just beside the Bic Camera store next. There is also a streetcar/tram stop so near the hotel which you can use to explore the city touristy spots! Shopping is convenient as the Kumamoto AMU Plaza (see another Review) is 5-mins walk away. The lobby is quite spacious and I quite like the intimate setting and lighting. Check-in was fast and 3 lifts serve well with travellers + luggages. The room design is quite standard and we have requested for x2 single bed, the room size is respectable. Noted that they're still using the physical hard key and not the keycard type. Hottel provided some amenities and complimentary bottled water in the room, sufficient for us . The Hotel is very into Going Green, there will be no housekeeping within first 3-days unless requested upon. This may likely be the model moving forward, to cut wastages. We had our breakfast at the nearby Pronto. The Kitaoka Shrine is just about 400 metres nearby, opposite direction of JR station so we recommend to drop by if time permits. A good stay experience. J

The hotel's location was the main reason why we booked the place. It was close to both Kumamon Square and Kumamotojo, the 2 things we wanted to do in Kumamoto. However, note that even though it's right next to Kumamotojo, it still takes a 15~20minute walk to the entrance because it's on the other side of the castle keep during it's repairs. The staff are wonderful and very helpful, standard level of service in Japan is just one step above every other country. The staff did valet parking for me without extra charge, and was quite helpful in helping us to get to different attractions and restaurants. Overall, the hotel is very dated and the rooms are in dire need of a full renovation. I think that is why the rates were quite reasonable. For a hotel this caliber (probably 5 stars when it was first built), we only paid around 10,000 yen per night. The issue is the rooms are really old and the carpet looks dirty and ripped. parts of the washrooms were so old the faucet looked like it's from the early 90s and with small amounts of molds in the creases. Because the hotel is old, the ventilation isn't the greatest either. One of our rooms although was non-smoking, we could smell other room's cigarette smell in our room. Overall, I don't really recommend this hotel because it's really dated, but if you are on a budget and want close amenity it's worth a shot. The staff are nice too so I feel bad for not recommending the hotel, but at the end of the day, there are just better options in Kumamoto today.

A typical local travelers hotel tucked right next to the Kamitoricho shopping street where food options and convenience are abundant. The nearest tram stop is about 300m from the hotel, and the Shinkansen station is about 20mins by tram from the hotel. All major tourist attractions are also within the vicinity. The hotel has aged over the years but has been very well kept. Rooms are BIG for japanese standards, clean, toilets look very new, and basic amenities like body wash, towels and kettle is provided. Coffee is provided but you would have to walk to the reception to grab a cup. Room is sufficiently insulated and a central heater will keep you warm during winter. However the partition between the rooms are thin so noise from the next room can be audible - we had a occupant snore so loudly that it was faintly audible in the room. It is also worth noting that the footsteps and slamming doors from the corridor may also be heard via the front door. Lastly, although some of the staff may not speak English well, they are very helpful and accommodative - just whip out your google translate and have a conversation with them - they will gladly oblige.

A lovely hotel to stay in close to Kumamoto Castle. The rooms are nice and clean with friendly staff who are very helpful. Bath areas on the 12th floor are also quite nice and have a range of offerings inside. Breakfast was included with the price we paid, however, all the food was a little tasteless, if paying for breakfast, it is easy to go downstairs and get something but I’d probably go somewhere else if paying.

We stayed at the GR Hotel for one night while in Kumamoto. I would say it was an average stay, nothing really stood out but we were satisfied with our stay. The check in and out process was easy. The hallways smelled of smoke but the rooms did not. I felt the room was a bit out dated but the bed was fine and it had all the necessary amenities. The location was great as it was an easy walk to the shopping streets and castle.
