Hotel is conveniently located next door to a subway station. It is a few stops from Kyoto station. There are many stairs and no escalator or elevator when you exit the subway so not the best when you have luggage. Front desk’s staff English is quite limited, which surprised me given that Hyatt is an American chain and most guests were American while we were there. There are two Nespresso coffee machines in the lobby but no milk. There are three laundry machines on the lobby level. Each machine serves as both a washer and a dryer and takes 120 minutes for 600 yen. People lock their load with a code and you end up waiting for a long time waiting for someone to show up to remove their laundry. Room is tiny, the size of a closet. Our room had two twin beds and a sofa bed for a single person. There is no room to move. There are no sheets in the room so we called to ask for sheets. The person who answered the phone did not know what sheets mean so we had to go to the lobby and describe what we need. The language barrier is real. Our room was on top of a road and we could hear almost every car that went by. It does not seem like the hotel invested in good windows. Make sure to pack ear plugs. The bathroom is quite small and has a weird setup with a shower next to a bathtub. Front desk staff is also not helpful with recommendations for places to eat. They show you a barcode that lists restaurants, but do not provide recommendations. We found an excellent Indian restaurant very close to the hotel. You exit the hotel and turn to the right towards the subway, pass the dry cleaners and cross the street, you will see a mini-mart and then a basement with an Indian restaurant. They open at 5 pm for dinner. It is very inexpensive and delicious. I recommend the butter chicken and cheese nan. Front desk will print for you, there is a charge of 10 yen per page. There is no concierge and staff was too busy to respond to questions about how to get places, instead they offered a map. Breakfast gets busy so be sure to get there early. They offer rice, curry, soup, fish, fruit, bread, coffee, juices and more. The egg is extremely runny and when I asked the attendant if they have egg that is better cooked, she had no idea what I was saying. I would not stay here again because of not being able to communicate with staff and because the room is so small.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our first visit to Kyoto. This hotel is very clean with nice accessories and modern Japanese accommodations located in quiet neighborhood away from constant tourist crowds but at the same time in walking distance from the emperor palace and right across from Nijo Castle. It is only 10-15 minutes away on taxi from Gion district and other main tourist attractions that Kyoto can offer. I also would like mention Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto staff that made us feel very welcomed and specifically to Timothy Hui (front office manager) who went beyond his duties and make special accommodations for us during our visit in Kyoto.

This hotel has wonderful costumer services and the employees speak many languages. Right up the street there is a 7/11 store for all your snack run, there are cafe and restaurant within walking distance. The Karasuma-Oike station is literally 3-5 minutes walk. The best part is the traveler’s store that is about a 10 min walk. I been wanting to go there and finally got to visit it. This store has stationary items such as notebooks that can have you record your journey.

We recently spent 4 nights here and had a great experience overall. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The hotel's central location is very convenient, providing easy access to Kyoto's popular attractions. Although the room is a bit small, it’s was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. One of the standout features of this hotel is its stunning rooftop terrace overlooking the city, which was our favorite spot to unwind and relax at the end of each day. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Conveniently located not far from the Kyoto station, ALA is quite a new and modern place that provides great accommodation and all the amenities at affordable prices. The room we stayed is more spacious than other similar standard hotels in Japanese cities, with separate shower/bathtub and toilet section. There is spa, gym and conference rooms for both business and leisure travelers. Best of all is the breakfast. We stayed here for four nights and enjoyed a variety of good Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and American meals every morning. The soft-serve ice cream was my most favorite. The staff was very polite and efficient. Room was clean and tidy with new bed linen and towels changed daily although we did not throw off the used one. All in all it is a value-for-money 4 Star Hotel that anyone visiting Kyoto should consider.

Hotel was super nice! I loved almost everything. The room was very big for Japanese standards and the staff was very professional and fluent in English. Location couldn’t be better, right next to Kyoto Station and a lot of options for shopping and dining. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. They divide it in a western and japanese breakfast. But the western breakfast didn’t really have much western choices. And the coffee was not good. This could be improved. Otherwise it was a perfect stay and I would recommend it. :-)

GGuest UserAccommodation that only sleeps for users who want to save accommodation costs. Facilities / rooms are new, clean and clean. The room is large enough to have a single bed (thick mattress). There is no TV, toilet, wash basin, shower booth and toilet are shared. Bed making, garbage disposal, self-service, amenities are only toothbrushes. It is a short walk from Gojo Subway Station, so it is easy to access and suitable for sightseeing. Considering the service side, I think the cospa is bad.

GGuest UserStayed at Kyoritsu Resort for the first time other than La Vista. Put your shoes in the clog box at the entrance like a Japanese-style ryokan. It goes straight up on the tatami mat. I really like the relaxing style, but I'm worried about customers who don't even wipe the carry case. I think it's the same as walking on a tatami mat with bare feet. It would be great if you could use disposable paper towels to wipe at the entrance. The free private bath is a type that you use after washing in the large public bath, just like La Vista. There are hot springs and others. It's enough because you can use the 30-minute time limit. Each person had a luxury of one place. Ice cream after taking a bath, morning drink, and night crying soba are common. As for the third one, I can't participate yet because late hours are heavy on my stomach. Dinner is a Japanese course. Choose from 6 types of obanzai at the end. All types can be refilled and returned. You can choose either rice or noodles for your meal. It's not a luxurious ingredient, but I'm satisfied with the volume and taste. Breakfast is a buffet. How much is common, but everyone seems to be less interested than Tokyo Bay. I had a lot. The room is a compact twin. Shoji screens and bamboo Towa style I want a space to put my bag. Amenity is also a style to bring what you need in common. No waste. Buffet of tea.The variety was delicious. I was also interested in Arashiyama, but I thought that mutual use would be convenient if there was mutual cooperation such as luggage delivery. I saw several staff members in training, but everyone, including the front manager, was kind and comfortable. If you go to Kyoto again, please stop by.

CCkyankcTitle: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage. The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. GGuest UserDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards,

GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay at this Machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) for 3 days. We only did in-room dining one night, but that was also excellent. The check-in process is a little strange, as you will receive communication from the company that's a little dense and will not interact directly with the staff unless you choose to. We had to scan and send our passport photos and fill out a registration card, but that was it. The property is small by European/American standards in the sense that you will need to be careful to avoid damaging (including possibly your own head) things during your stay due to height and luggage weight. There's slippers provided to switch from your walking shoes to walking inside the property and there is an excellent bathtub and washroom with washer. My two cautions - this firm has English speaking employees available during business hours (and an emergency line) but it is geared primarily towards the Japan renter. Be prepared to know Japanese or be willing to take the time to translate certain things via your cell phone/app of your choice to understand how to work the various appliances. As an older building, learning the heating/cooling. The second caution, as an older building sound is an issue. You will hear the street and need to control your volume in order to be a polite guest.
