The Floral Green Maple House is one of the newest hotels in Kyoto, having opened in 2023. The hotel is just 300m away from Saiin Station. Being just minutes away from Nishiōji Oike Metro Station allows guests to explore the city with ease. Seeing Kyoto's sights from this hotel is easy with Kyoto Railway Museum, Ryōan-ji and Nishi Hongan Temple all close by. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"The service from Manager Liu and Xiao Liu was very thoughtful. Being Chinese, communication was very easy. They provided complimentary clear umbrellas and trash bags, which was a nice touch. The room was quite spacious; we could open two suitcases. The cleanliness could be improved, though. The provided cutlery, cookware, and cutting board weren't clean; there were oily residues from previous cooking. There were also hairs on the bathroom wall. I'd suggest they replace the hairdryer with one that has a stronger airflow. The bathroom's heater/dryer unit had a drying function with a hanging rod, which was excellent – clothes dried overnight. The kitchen's range hood was very powerful; there was no smoky smell when we grilled. The location is great. It's just one subway stop to Shijo, which is more convenient than my previous stay in Karasuma. There's also a Life supermarket two bus stops away, and plenty of dining options downstairs."

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto

A Truly Exceptional Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Our family had a wonderful experience at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and we left with nothing but gratitude and happy memories. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special. A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.

We are highly recommend to stay in this hotel, while the location, room size, cleanliness, design, and service are excellent. Moreover, the breakfast style is enough to choose, you can either enjoy in western or Japanese style breakfast per day. And we have encountered a traffic jam issue when we are coming back from Nara Station, something bad happened and the train was suddenly stopped. So we cannot be able to back to hotel on time for retrieving our packed luggages in room. We called to the hotel and explained this unexpected situation. The staffs show understand and offered free late check out one more hour for us, we know it is not easy to have free late check out at Japan but they did treat us so well. Thank you so much, we appreciated and we will stay in future as well. Thank you!

My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha. It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.

+ this hotel 01 station only from Kyoto Station, using metro and stop at Koji Station , and then walking about 15minutes to the hotel + The easy way to reach this hotel is using bus, and stop at Kujo Omiya. Many bus have direct route to Gion, and other tourist spot (about 30 minutes riding). Please take a notes, this hotel is not in tourist area, very quiet and you will meet with many local people here. + this hotel have a concierge and standby staff, so you can keep the luggage before checkin. + this hotel is very new, i think maybe open early 2026, when we proceed for the check in, the hotel staff gave us some welcoming gift, and we can saw many flowers buoquet there. And the good news, yes they have an elevator, so no issue for thise who bring big luggage + Room very clean and tidy. We book for 03 persons, and they prepare room with 04 twin beds (separate 02 rooms). Inside room have bathtub, laundry, kitchen + equipment, and 01 dining table. + I think maybe this is the best hotel we stay at Japan. Very modern, all brand new, many USB port inside the room, wifi connection is strong, really quiet and really convenient for stay + around 05 minutes walking, you will find japanese ramen noodle resto, and also local mini market. - a little bit troublesome for communicate with the hotel staff, because when we want to make sure about Yamato Delivery Service to this hotel, it was so hard to reach to hotel staff throung phone / email. When we asking to the hotel staff about this, they said they not receiving any chat from the trip.com / ******* platform. I dont know where is the issue, maybe because this hotel very new or they are not ready yet for the online communication Please take a notes that you have to pay kyoto city tax. We stay for 02 night, and we pay JPY 1.600 total Overall it was a nice stay, and definitely really recomend this hotel for stay at Kyoto.

This was my second stay, and it truly offers the most spacious rooms I've encountered in Japan – I absolutely love it. The hotel has a grand exterior, and there's a dedicated complimentary onsen with multiple pools, some even featuring massage functions. They also provide a free drinks and snack area, and a room for enjoying music, making the overall experience very relaxing. The photos I took show the hotel room and the view from the balcony; we enjoyed moon-gazing at night and admiring the scenery in the morning. It's a quiet, open space that puts you at ease. The hotel restaurant serves excellent food, though the prices are a bit high; it would be even better if they could adjust them. The hotel is close to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient to get there by taxi.

Pros: The hotel is very close to major attractions and shopping areas. Yasaka Shrine, Takashimaya department store, and Shinkyogoku Market are all within walking distance. Kamo River is also just a five to six-minute walk away. A taxi to JR Kyoto Station costs 1700 yen and is about 2.5 kilometers. The hotel lobby is on the fourth floor, and there's a direct passage on the third floor to Takashimaya. Takashimaya's B1 level has a supermarket and restaurants that are popular with locals. The hotel service is excellent, and the environment is very good. The room size is quite spacious for Japan. You can refill your thermos at the water dispenser on each floor daily, which is very eco-friendly. There's a laundry room on the third floor that accepts WeChat Pay, so no coins are needed.

Expensive but excellent! The transportation here is very central. I've noticed that Japanese people's English has improved, and there are more vegetarian options. The politeness is still there, and the vibe is still the same – a mix of joy and sorrow 🎭. The train ride was a lot of fun.

Online hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

It was a nice hotel to stay and we had a lovely balcony room which we cherished. The room has no daily room services so the room cleanliness is up to you. They have the required tools to keep it clean but after back to back days of 14/15 hours outside trying to make the most of your days in Japan you will most likely not think about cleaning your hotel room! Staff are friendly and try their best to help. They said there was no iron but then the next day I saw an iron set with the staff on the reception so not sure if there was a miscommunication with my request preciously, which was annoying but not the end of the world. They do have free to use washing machines for your laundry just make sure you fully understand the instructions on the machine before using as I managed to make a normal wash into 9 hours of wash and dry and worrying about my clothes 😂😂 Oops! If you are a first time tourist to Kyoto the location will make it very difficult for you to make the most of your day as you will be rushing back to make the last bus as the train lines are not amazing in this location. But if your looking for more chilled out peaceful local life there are lots of great local restaurants to attend and I would highly recommend take a look at 2254 hotel & lounge for a very aesthetically pleasing coffee and relax cafe work vibe. There are no bar or drink services in Dash Living Gojo but you have very close by a 7/11 and Lawsons. Overall enjoyed the room and the atmosphere of the location but it’s probably not ideal if you are planning a very intense tourist heavy itinerary for Kyoto.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, I would definitely rate it as a solid 4-star experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for my stay. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep. The décor was modern and tasteful, and all the basic amenities were provided, including toiletries, a coffee machine, and reliable Wi-Fi. Housekeeping did a great job each day, keeping everything tidy and replenished. One of the highlights of the hotel was its facilities. The common areas were clean and nicely designed, and there was a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The breakfast was also quite good, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. While it wasn’t the most luxurious breakfast I’ve ever had, it was definitely above average and satisfying. The location of the hotel was another strong point. It was conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. This made getting around very simple and added a lot of value to the overall experience. That said, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. At times, service could be slightly slow during busy hours, and a few small details in the room showed slight wear. However, these issues were not major and did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It may not be perfect, but it certainly meets the expectations of a 4-star hotel. I would happily recommend it to others and would consider staying here again in the future
