Hotels near Osaka Science Museum in Osaka

[2021/4/25 OPEN] [Morning] Smile Grand Open Memorial Plan Using the above plan, I stayed at ”Smile Hotel Osaka Nakanoshima” on April 25, 2021. With the announcement of the emergency declaration, there was a call for breakfast suspension and a discount for the amount in advance. The hotel on the opening day was comfortable. The orchid flowers in the lobby are gorgeous and I love them. I enjoyed the scent of the roses in the nearby Nakanoshima rose garden. The town of Kita Shinchi visited at night was dark. Hotel is just 1min walk from Higobashi station. Take exit 2 at Higobashi station. Do note that exit is a stairs only exit. Family mart is conveniently located outside the exit, just right beside the hotel. Hotel is really small, photos do not do justice. Large suitcases will not be able to open fully. Toiletries are available (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, conditioner and shampoo). Clean towels and sheets are provided everyday. Bathtub available, water temperature and pressure is good. Bidet available. Would recommend to stay if space is not a concern.

location wise, very near metro station, lawson located right downstairs, all the lobby lights and entrance to lawson will be closed at midnight sharp, then u gotta walk one round outside the building to enter lawson (convenience store),, when showering or using the sink, the water will somehow leak onto the bathroom floor, at first i thought bc of the shower curtain thats why the floor was wet but when i was using the sink the water just kept flowing out from beneath the sink and flooding the toilet, i went to front desk to let them know about it, then they shifted our rooms but we still had the same issue… so… stay at your own risk

Fantastic location - 20 minutes walk south to Shinsaibashi with all the amazing food and little shops. 20 minutes walk north to Umeda with more ‘proper’ restaurants. Service was great - housekeeping and reception desk were fantastic and polite, really helpful with just everything, be it luggage, calling a restaurant to check availability or heating up food from the markets. Room was clean, no issues with anything. Heads-up: bring a power board if there’s more than one traveler due to lack of power outlets in the room - only had one easily accessible.

Location: In Nakanoshima, there are many art galleries, libraries, and parks, very quiet Transportation: Although it takes ten minutes to walk to the subway, it is expensive because there are free buses to and from Osaka Station Layout: Very spacious, with foyer There is a bath on the 16th floor The room utensils are also very textured

The facilities and facilities are new, there is a GOTO travel, and the accommodation fee is low, so I want to be highly appreciated, but it is the first time to use it, and it is very regrettable, and it cannot be highly appreciated. (There is a microwave oven in the room, but there is no shared ice dispenser, etc., unbalanced) This neighborhood is lined up properly, because the road is lined up vertically and horizontally, from the subway station, It took time to get there. I passed through the signal crossing immediately, and I could hardly see the signboard, so I passed. The signboard of TY Inn is flashy, so it enters the eye. I called the hotel and walked from the subway station and visited ”TY inn is nearby because I can see it” and asked, ”what store is it?” Just see the signboard, you can't know what store. Not far from ＴＹ inn, as if you can't read the air. This is low level!! I can evaluate that the signboard is not flashy, but on the other hand, there should be many such inquiries.Even if I finally arrive, I don't feel hospitality at all, and I don't feel good. I'm sorry for the dryness, but I need to reeducate my employees. This is a frank opinion.

Stayed for 2 nights in a twin room during Autumn. Good size comparing to many other hotels of this rate, enough space to open 2 suitcases at the same time. Love the location, easy to find the hotel from train station, it’s just above Daimaru and many excellent restaurants within 10 mins walk. It’s fabulous to get back to my room for a short break between shopping. Nothing is better than staying directly above the station for train travelers. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

The location is excellent, very close to the metro, many shops, and not far from the bustling namba. The room was functional and clean. There was a microwave downstairs to warm up food. And the view was actually really nice over Osaka. The room is really tiny. I stayed in two other similar hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo and this one was by far the smallest. Im not very big, so it was fine, but someone taller might find it difficult to fit 😅. I'd add a mug in the room but otherwise all the conveniences were there.

Exceptional service - the front desk helped me to arrange taxi to the airport and it was not easy because they were fully booked. The person tried many times and finally found a taxi for us, much to our relief. The front desk is trained to ask all the right questions, staying calm. They also helped to receive my transferred luggage from another hotel. All timely and accurately. It deserved a 6 star for such exceptional service. The hotel ambience has a calming effect as it is dark but lighted on the areas that you need to see. We have no problem even though some people commented on it. Great location Room size is comfortable and considered a fair size, in fact, slightly larger and well planned. Breakfast has a good spread. Think it is great to open at 6.30 am as it gives maximum time to have an early start. Highly recommended for couple and families.

The location is unbeatable, multiple convenience stores around, 7-10min walk to Dotonburi and various stations, lots of restaurants and quiet streets at night time. The hotel also has a cafeteria with free tea, water, melon soda, coca cola and other refreshments that are available 24/7. The room itself is simple but very comfortable and has everything you could need. Rooms are cleaned daily and amenities replenished too, even if you opt out of cleaning by sticking a ”Do not clean” magnet on the door, they then put everything in a bag and hang it on the handle. The staff is mostly professional, speak decent English and the check-in/out process was easy. Where it loses points is due to the following: On one of our big days out exploring, we came back to the hotel at around 8PM. The Front Lobby was filled with a big and disorganised Chinese group/family of 12-16 people who were scattered throughout the lobby. They did not all have a hotel key card, I know this because there was an employee by the escalator using his key on the elevator to send up them to their rooms. So my girlfriend and I got our keys out, got to the front of the other elevator and showed our cards as a way of gesturing if we could go up. The employee rejected us and we got the idea that we had to wait. Now I don't know about you, but I don't see why I need to wait for something that isn't my problem. Their lobby was littered and the tourists were being loud and screaming at eachother from across the room. We were not going to wait. Line them up in front of one elevator and use the other one for people who are entering and exiting, and if no one is entering and exiting, then let them use both elevators. Such unprofessionalism. We decided to leave and go for a walk and kill time at the local convienience store, but it definitely ruined our day and experience with the hotel. Another reason is I asked if they could make a restaurant reservation on my behalf, the bird cafe that I wanted to go to had a registration and booking process that was not friendly for tourists. It required me to write my Japanese Name for some reason, as well as phone number. The hotel said they could not make such reservations for me. I ended up walking in and was lucky it was a weekday and it wasn't as packed. Also be sure to check how many adults is listed on the room you plan to book, I didn't check properly and mine said 1 Adult, even though it fits 2 and the amenities were stocked for 2, this mistake of mine cost me 14,000yen (2000yen a day) because I had my girlfriend with me.
