We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The location is great, at the quiet end of town near the Charles Darwin centre, away from the bar *****, right on the water and surrounded by mangroves, with a constant supply of sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, frigate birds and other birds to keep you entertained. We stayed in the Darwin room, which is really spacious, with a lovely sea-view balcony. Definitely worth paying extra for. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, the food and service always good. Santa Cruz is not the most beautiful of the islands but has lots of great attractions and is a perfect base for exploring other nearby islands on day trips. We did day trips to North Seymour and Bartolome and both were excellent. We chose a land-based holiday (ie staying in hotels rather than living on a boat) because we didn’t want to be stuck on a small boat with a group of people we didn’t know and might not get on with, and wanted more space and privacy. Very happy with that choice.

Although the hotel is a three-star hotel, there is a swimming pool + bubble pool, there is a table tennis table, and the space atmosphere has a holiday feeling (although I stayed for 2 nights and didn't go to the bubble). The location of the hotel is in the pier residential area. The room was small and the two boxes could not be opened. In front of each room, there was a simple wooden chair, but it was basically faded. Breakfast is served per person, a bit slow. Starting at seven o'clock, everyone generally has to catch up with the eight-point day tour group, some are too late.

The hotel is quite satisfactory. The service from the front desk girl is very enthusiastic and her English is also good. A meal to introduce surrounding attractions and entertainment projects. Can help introduce travel agencies. The prices and services are relatively reliable. The hotel environment is very style, and it is very comfortable to stay in the small courtyard. The only flaw is that the room is average. More like the standard of domestic three-star hotel. But very clean. The hotel includes breakfast. Five star experience Torre Mar is truly a 5 star experience if you are looking to travel to Galapagos. From the moment I sent a note to inquire about costs, the owners were extremely responsive and helpful. One of the great things they do is set up some zoom calls to get to know you, your interests and your “must dos” while based on Santa Cruz Island. We stayed in a two bedroom suite, which was perfect and absolutely lovely. It was nice to be able to relax in the living room in the evenings or on the fourth floor terrace. The room was spotless, furniture comfortable, and price unbeatable. You can walk quickly to a wide variety of restaurants throughout Santa Cruz. Donna and John helped us arrange our excursions six months in advance, and created an itinerary to be envied. We were able to see plazas, North Seymour, Bartolome and the highlands. On a free day, when we struggled to make our way back from Tortuga Bay, John was right there to help. He made sure we felt at home in Puerto Ayora. Also - they help arrange your transfer from Baltra island when you land and when you depart. Bolivar was amazing! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing Torre Mar is and how they go above and beyond for their guests.
