Me and my wife was suppose to celebrate my 40th birthday in Rome, first time in over 10 years together, just me and her. My wife had planned everything with small surprises in the hotel and other activities in Rome. I have always wanted to go to Rome, because of the fantastic history it has and architecture. Four days before our trip, my wife’s father dies tragically. This was of course a big chock for everyone, which made that we could finalize our trip, and had to unbook everything (flight, restaurants, hotels etc). This is of course a though period for our family. When we cancelled the room, the same second as we got the information (I did the unbooking) we got the answer that due to the policy, the hotel cant pay us back because we were a few hours late with our cancelation. We tried through our booking site (booking.com witch handled this superb by the way) and also tried to talk directly to the hotel manager, to really have sympathy and understand the situation that we impossible couldn’t know, witch they didn’t have, and still referred to the policy, even though we were talking a few hours in the cancellation window. We also tried to se if there was any way to get a voucher, because we will still make the trip but in another close period, if they could partially pay back maybe half, which they also refused. I also suggested to send a copy of the death certificate so they could know that this wasn’t fake, and still refused. After I talked to their receptionist, I have also called, emailed and sent whatt sup messengers and doesn’t event get any reply from them. I’m really disappointed in how the hotel handled this situation, that already was though for us, that they even wasn’t interested in finding a solution when we also mentioned that this trip is only getting delayed. I have travelled a lot in my life, and never been through this kind of behaviour which is why I want to write this, so you know before you book how they manage these things.

Me and my friend visited Rome for my 30th birthday, I had the best time and will remember my trip for the rest of my life. This little boutique hotel is beautiful, it is so close to so many points of interest with the Marcus Aurelius Column be essentially right outside and the Pantheon a matter of minutes away. Bar's, shops and restuarants all very close by. The staff here were so lovely, both the ladies who were at reception helped me book attractions such as the Vatican Museum and Colosseum and taxi's for the airport and further afield destinations of Rome, they really are assets to the buisness. Rooms were spotlessly clean, water, towels were replenished daily. Our room was comfortable and spacious for both us girls sharing. It truly was an unforgettable experience and as much as I didn't spend a massive amount of time in our room it makes a big difference when it is such a lovely hotel with wonderful staff.

This little boutique hotel is in a great location between the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon. The rooms (we had two for the family) are very nice and clean - floor washed each day which we thought was a nice touch! The staff were extremely helpful throughout. On the first night one of the rooms was noisy (as if overlooked a street - from third floor), however we were moved to a quieter inner courtyard room with out any issues. There is no communal areas, however if you want to be out exploring Rome and them return easily to a nicely decorated, centrally located hotel bedroom then this is a good option.

We stayed four nights at the Couper Colonna. The hotel is situated on the third floor of a building right in the heart of the tourist area with both Trevi Fountain and Pantheon just a few minutes walk away. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The room for 3 of us (2 adults and a child) was small but no smaller than I imagine any typical Rome room to be. Fabiola and her colleague were great, and even kindly arranged some lovely treats for my wife’s birthday while we were there, the cake in particular was very tasty! Breakfast isn’t included but they do provide a few treats in reception and great recommendations for places nearby!
