The hotel is an oasis of quiet, calm, charming efficiency. The rooms are large and stylishly decorated, and the beds are very comfortable. My room 720, had a lovely view over the main pool to the restaurant and the sea.Everything worked including a very efficient Air Con. Breakfast every morning was a delight, a hot counter producing delicious food to order, and a buffet of continental style meats, cheese and various Salads. The breads were delicious and the pastries looked wonderful, but I don't have a sweet tooth so didn't try them. Finally I have to say how wonderful the staff are with genuine smiles and prompt service. I would definitely recommend this as a restful place to stay, an escape at the end of a day from the noisy, dusty, exciting hustle and bustle of everyday Gambia.

I spent there a few days and i was amazed how nice staff, food and servise was there. Clean area and well equiped rooms. Sunbeds in the swimming room area where great.I can strongly recommned to stay here, cos there were nothing to complain about

The staff is really nice, the breakfast is vast and tasty. We got helped to go to our room and every time we asked even without asking most of the time. The place is really nice and safe. There is the beach nearby which is guarded as well. Room are a little bit too warm but that’s the only negative point. We had a great stay !

I love the mocktails and scenic views on offer as I enjoy my meal. It's a great hotel to work remotely from or to catch up with friends. It's peaceful, comfortable and the staff are friendly and professional. I love visiting this hotel and will do so over and over again.

Fabulous time staying at this hotel, lovely quiet corner swim up room, sun all day from around 11am. Room 310 Staff helpful and friendly special shoutout to Trainee Sarah from the bar, today is her last day as a trainee and should definitely be employed, lovely and friendly and very competent. We did want to extend our room on last day but not available however reception sorted a room for us to use before our flight,

This was my first visit to The Gambia on an organised wildlife-watching trip based at the African Princess hotel. Sadly on the first morning I was unwell and confined to the hotel for the duration of the holiday, I should point out it was a heart problem and absolutely nothing connected to the hotel or being in The Gambia. The managers, Abraham and Roy, were absolutely brilliant making sure I was OK as were all the staff including reception, bar staff and housekeeping (Isa) providing a wheelchair to keep me mobile. The room was of a high standard, very clean etc. the restaurant very good serving lovely food, there was nothing that I would comment adversely on. At the time of writing I am still awaiting further treatment hence why I have not written this before. If/when I return to see the wildlife I missed I will undoubtedly base my trip at the African Princess hotel.

Lovely hotel we had room with pool ,beds very hard, hotel put quilt on bottom to ease my back. Food is not the best and over priced.local eateries everywhere so no big deal. Gambia beautiful although be prepared for begging. Solomon bar next door great . Markets everywhere . All in all great holiday .I will come again. Gambians very friendly
