You stay here for the experience not the quality of the hotel! This place is kitsch and a wonderful relic of the cold War! Stayed here twice as part of a group tour and was charmed by the haphazard nature of the place! Reception is a vast space with plenty of seating and a bar at one end. You can get cold beer here that you can take away to your room. Both rooms we had were large with twin beds at one end and a loungue type area at the other. The major bonus was we had a balcony each time; great views from the higher floors and a good place to hang out some washing! The first room the balcony was accessible from two doors, the second room had one door blocked with a chest of drawers and the handle removed! Bathrooms are a bit dated and you sometimes have to wait for hot water! Not all rooms have balconies so you might need to request. The money exchange was really useful, although they wouldn't change local currency back again. The rooftop bar is actually the top floor as opposed to on the roof but the windows open in and you get great city views. Breakfast buffet is excellent, especially the omlette chef! Location of the hotel is also strong, metro just to right of entrance and lots of attractions, bars and restaurants in walking distance. A couple of reviews say Reception staff don't speak great English - you can get round this with Google translate so not a big deal. We also had two people on our two given each others passports - the onus is definitely on you to check! If you don't mind quirky this hotel is for you!

Checking in was a nightmare I booked the hotel to stay 2 night before flying back to London. I checked in with my new wife as we just got married and the hotel reception demanded that we need a marriage certificate to stay at their hotel as my wife was Uzbekistan citizens and me being Uk. The reception was very rude unhelpful and even I was telling them that I am with my wife they didn’t want to check me in I found this very upsetting as I said if my girlfriend or female friend, wife was another nationality they won’t ask me for anything after talking to some fake managers that came to the reception they had to make so many phone calls to some places and after 45 minutes of waiting at the reception desk finally they checked us in was terrible no apologies was offered from 4-5 staff that had dealt with us 2 we’re supposed to be management which am not sure I feel they lied. I wasn’t happy at all with this from such a large hotel chain which I have used them in other locations. Room was good sized clean but service in general was poor for such a new hotel. Even morning breakfast staff no one ever said good morning or anything. There was no security at the front door ever when we came in or left the hotel to see local tourists attractions. Avoid the bar too expensive and cocktails weren’t great head to local restaurants for cheaper drinks. It’s a shame I can’t rate the service less than 1 stars if I could I would rate the service 0 stars. We stayed at the Wyndham in Tashkent as well with my wife didn’t have issues and staff there were fantastic.

This hotel looks like a block of flats on a council estate and is not much better inside. With thinning carpets and unfinished balconies it really is an unattractive stay. Upon my arrival they had me recorded as sharing a room with a stranger and told me they had no other rooms for me. They asked if I could share a room with my elderly parents, or they would move me to another hotel. We told them this was unacceptable and all of a sudden they managed to magic up a room out of thin air, suggesting to me that they had not been telling the truth. Although the room was alright, there was absolutely no Wi-Fi at all in the room, and it appeared that the phone in the room could not be used to communicate with other rooms in the hotel. After being made to tip up front for suitcases to be delivered to rooms, my suitcase was delivered to my parents room, and on leaving they didn’t even bother to collect it from outside my room as arranged. I spoke to the staff who just said they didn’t have my room on their list and walked off without doing anything about it. In the end I had to go back up to the 7th floor myself to retrieve my case. The breakfast is extremely poor with not much variety. When items run out, such as glasses or juice, they are not replenished unless you ask staff to do so. The coffee machine is pretty useless, you are lucky if you get half a small cup, and it’s a miracle if you get milk! The location is also not the best. Tucked away in a side street far away from the main attractions, it is extremely uninviting on arrival. Best avoided!

Navruz Hotel Tashkent

The Navruz Hotel is in a great location on a side street but close to metro and a few restaurants (can recommend Siesta restaurant!). Rooms are on the small side but have everything you need including kettle, fridge, bottled water, blackout curtains, toiletries, hairdryer. Beds are large and comfortable with lovely bed linen. Bathroom of the room we stayed in was small with shower cubicle only, no bath, but was clean and modern with good water pressure. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool after a hard day's sightseeing and I particularly enjoyed having a cappuccino or two at breakfast. The young male receptionist (sorry I didn't get his name but he seemed to work 24/7) spoke excellent English and was helpful and efficient.

City Palace Hotel Tashkent

The room is quite large, the bed is very comfortable, the disadvantage is that the window can't be opened. There are fewer types of breakfast, but the taste is OK, there is no problem with eating. It is a high building in the local area and the city view is good.
Manor Hotel

We stay in this hotel for the second time. The optimal ratio of price and services provided. It is convenient to get from the airport and the bus station is on foot. The hotel is very much a hotel, a new building, a lot of cafes and restaurants (french, Italian, Japanese cuisine), but not cheap as for Uzbekistan. The hotel itself is a Turkish network, the interior in the appropriate style is luxurious. Everything new, rooms are spacious, there is everything you need. Hotel without stars, but the best of some 4-stars. White machronous coats, slippers, bathroom all the necessary facilities. Very high beds with mattresses, even for my 175 cm growth, people of small growth will have to jump:) Breakfasts are beautiful, dishes changed every day. Moreover, you can order eggs in any form, cashua. Good coffee from the coffee machine that is not in every hotel in Uzbekistan. I would like to celebrate the staff of the hotel. And the staff are receptive, and the restaurant. Very kind, immediately respond to any request. I will definitely recommend this hotel. P. S. On the side of the hotel the construction of a residential complex began, but if you don't stay in the hotel for all days, you won't mind.
