Nice place to stay handy to everything, beach, shops, service station and situated on the main road out to Kawerau etc. Very friendly staff and large well maintained rooms. Ideal for families especially with a good sized pool. Good parking area outside the units.

A really great welcome, comfy room, nothing too much trouble. Strongly recommended for a stay if in the area. Added to this a really sweet dog of 12years old who is most welcoming as well..........Also there is a very good curry house within walking distance

We arrived in Wakatane without booking any accommodation and on the main road into the town there are many motels to chose from luckily enough we chose the Alton Lodge. Our hostess couldn't be more accommodating and helpful ( she pointed out walks and drives we could do on a map) and our room was just fine, not 5 star luxury just comfortable and quiet. The only issue is that we only stayed the one night. The other draw card when we arrived was the owners lovely dog, Rozetta(?) She clinched the deal.

Ideal facilities and location. There for an eight day work trip. Good wifi, good table to work at, comfy bed, good shower. Kitchen had everything I needed. House keeping was thoughtful but not intrusive. Very quiet neighbouring section (you’ll see why when you stay!). Good value rates too. Stayed in room no. 2.
