Best Hotels in Winsen

This was our second stay with this chain hotel. We knew to only expect the basics. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were disgusting. So flat, ragged, and worn. The two panels of double glazed windows were effective, and we did not hear any noise from the railway line that we could see from our window. It was a freight line and had very few trains. The passenger line was located further from the hotel but still within walking distance. The old town was within walking distance, and it contained many eateries. We were able to get boiling water from the restaurant in the morning to make our own coffee in the room. We had our own mugs and provisions and bought bags of ice from the Shell gas station (10-minute drive). The hotel room only contains 2 extremely small paper cups, about the size you would use for mouthwash.

Positive: The rooms were large enough. Parking directly below the hotel building with direct access, top. Directly next to the salt thermal and a beautiful park. Breakfast was good and rich. Negative: Unfortunately, the rooms were not described as on the internet. A room with bathtub could not be offered to us and instead of a hangchair we found only empty dubble and a seat on the ground - very bad. The staff was very friendly and solution-oriented and offered us a free room upgrade. Although it had no bathroom and no hangchair, it was even bigger. The cleanness of the room and hotel area was bad to be considered when we visit. In the bathroom itself, the predecessor was still rassured, the kitchen line was overlooked with fat fingers and also in the lift seemed similar - here is absolute optimization need. The lack of air conditioning would I like to mention. I would certainly have seen this in the description, but I had assumed that for the quite high night price, so I will not let this be included in my assessment, but I would like to point out that.

So I stayed here a few nights (twice) on business, it's tucked away down a side street nothing outstanding in terms of appearance, it's just another building, with some hidden charm - Staff, attentive and very pleasant, it's got a pretty cozy bar, small but cozy. Sundays seem a little under staffed, but give credit where it's due, the staff work hard to service your needs. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, it does not feel too outdated, it's not 2023 but it's warm and friendly, some rooms come with a fridge, some not. Beds are comfortable and bed linen is top drawer, nice set of toiletries in the bathroom, and the rooms are spotlessly clean, even if a little outdated. Room service is available and is pretty darn good!! I like room service after a busy and long day, and it did not disappoint at all. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially if you compare to a similar holiday inn that boasts 4 stars, the H4 wins hands down on price and quality. Would I go back - most definitely, what attracts me the most..... the price and the room service, to be fair location was close to my business so that was not a major factor for me, however in saying this, there is a well appointed mall and many restaurants nearby and some decent food stores for those midnight snacks...... We stayed two nights on a road trip to Germany. Reinbek is located about 20 kilometers east of Hamburg. The suburb is well connected to Hamburg by road and S-Bahn trains, taking you to downtown Hamburg in about 20 minutes. The station is within walking distance from the hotel, which also offers free garage parking. The spaces are narrow and shared with the local library. The layout of the hotel is unusual, as it is located in a small shopping mall, but in general we found the hotel quite good and very clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and the beds good. Safe was provided, but no coffee making equipment. Almost all television channels were German, and the reception of CNN was definitely not satisfactory. Our rate included a good breakfast and Hamburg Cards with a number of benefits such as free and excellent transportation on trains, buses and harbor buses within the central Hamburg area. Good hotel for a stop-over in the Hamburg area.

We have visited Hotel Bergstrom many times since early 2000. We have always enjoyed the well maintained and well organized hotel. After this stay, not so much. I am aware of 2 years of COVID fatigue and staff shortage. However, when we make a reservation we expect full accessibility, our de luxe room could not be reached by us because it lacked elevator. We got a different room, all fine however, this room was located to the party street where nightlife ended 0230 and cleaning and transport started 0500 so much for the sleep. I am not overly fixed on clean rooms, however, please remove the obvious layers of dust- repair what is damaged. This makes the first impression so much better. Bathroom was first class. We are used to having the Marina cafe open all day- now limited to evening only, so sad. For breakfast only one waiter, should be more staff at hand, and please keep loud disagreements at the kitchen out of guests reach. Finally, for check out-more staff on work, to wait 15 min for check out is to long a wait. So there is work to be done if you are going to keep your 4 star rating.

The lack of air conditioning in this hotel is really no big deal compared to others. Their baby cot is not clean, my child slept in their bed for two nights, he likes to sleep on his side and on his stomach, and his face is allergic to any part of the bed that touches the sheets. When I spoke to the hotel, they admitted that it was the hotel's responsibility and said that they could pay for an ointment so that I could go to the pharmacy and buy it myself. Amazingly, almost all the staff at the hotel had a very poor attitude, didn't care about the child, privately divulged personal information about the residents as a topic of discussion at work (every staff member knew about our personal matters/information, even those I had never seen) and even asked me if you wanted to call an ambulance for such a small matter. I cancelled my whole day plam and took a taxi to the pharmacy, which cost over 60 euros, and in the end the hotel only gave me 5 euro for the ointment, saying that I took a taxi to a pharmacy that was too far away and they couldn't cover the taxi costs, and the manager said that the only place they could pay for was a taxi to 10 euros, so they refused to pay for the journey?？？ But they didn't say any of that before I left, I was just told to take my own taxi to the pharmacy and they knew we were leaving that day so they made a very perfunctory promise which was all overturned. The important thing is that I paid 100€ for this baby cot and it was still not clean, finally I spoke to the manager and I said I paid 100€ only to get the cot and he said you have checked out and everything is sorted I don't know what is in your room now? !!!Anyway don't bring your children to this dangerous hotel, the staff were very dishonest and went as far as to say the room had been cleaned to destroy the evidence.
