The owner is a very, very thoughtful man from Northeast China. Seeing that I was a young woman and worried I wouldn't be able to carry my luggage, he offered to help me carry it upstairs. He's available 24/7 by phone. The location is excellent; it's just a short walk to a taxi stand and very close to the Starlight Night Market, only a few turns away. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area. I mentioned I'm a light sleeper, and he kindly arranged a very quiet room for me on the far side – truly a peaceful oasis. I also rented their electric scooter, and the owner charged it for me every night, so I didn't have to worry about it at all. It was fully charged when I woke up, making it incredibly convenient to get around. Traveling with such kindness made me feel so warm and cared for. Thank you, Uncle! This experience has further enhanced my positive impression of people from Northern China.

Returning to Dali from Jizu Mountain, I temporarily chose to stay at Jinsuo Island. I have been to Dali many times, and this is my first time on the island. This hotel is indeed the most satisfactory one. The room has an unbeatable sea view. You can see the sea and the sunrise while lying on the bed. The facilities are very smart and the hygiene is also very clean. Super cost-effective! The breakfast in the sea view restaurant is also a little surprise.

My stay was exceptionally good. The place is very clean and elegant, and both the garden and the rooms are beautiful. The owner is incredibly warm and attentive, answering all my travel guide questions perfectly. The service was comprehensive! The environment is stunning, and my stay felt very cozy. There are also many coffee shops nearby to check out, and taking a stroll in the ancient city right outside is lovely. The owner generously shared her delicious food with guests. Her breakfast is fantastic, especially the rice noodles which are absolutely incredible, and the coffee is super good too! When I was there, guests came from all over, and everyone was so friendly. I even made new friends, new international friends! I plan to stay here every time I visit Dali!

Took my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A 10-Star Stay in Lijiang If you’re planning a trip to Lijiang, this is absolutely the place you should choose. I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect accommodation, and I’m so glad I did — because this place exceeded all my expectations. The location and the view are simply unbeatable. From the hotel, you get a breathtaking panoramic view over Lijiang Old Town and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Honestly, I don’t think you could ask for a better view. It’s the kind of scenery where you can take beautiful photos without even having to leave the hotel. Even the charming little slope right in front of the entrance is already a perfect photo spot. The location is also extremely convenient. It’s very easy to get a taxi, and you can quickly reach the main roads to go shopping, explore other parts of Lijiang, or travel to the airport and train station. The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, always making sure everything was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the whole stay was genuinely wonderful from beginning to end. For me, this was a 10-star experience on my first trip to Lijiang. And considering the very reasonable price for such an exceptional location, view, service, and overall quality, I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here. If you’re coming to Lijiang, don’t hesitate — book this place. You won’t regret it. ❤️

The Warmest Accommodation I Found in Lijiang I found a truly wonderful place to stay in Lijiang. It was more than just a place to sleep; it was a place where I met wonderful people and received a warm welcome during my trip, so I really wanted to leave a review. 1. Excellent Location A colleague who recommended the trip to Lijiang told me that cars cannot enter the Old Town and that the many stone paths make it difficult to drag a suitcase around. So, I looked for accommodation within the Old Town that wasn't too far from the main road, and it was an excellent choice! There is a bus that goes to the accommodation in front of the train station. The bus doesn't have a name, but if you look at the route map next to the door, you just need to take the bus marked ”Guanwei” (古管委). (5 yuan) It takes less than 5 minutes from the stop to the accommodation (2-3 minutes if you don't have a suitcase), and since it is located just slightly away from the center of the Old Town, it is very quiet while still offering great accessibility. It was especially nice to walk back to the accommodation slowly after sightseeing at Chongyi Market at night. You can walk to Heilongtan and the Lion Mountain viewpoint, and you can also catch the bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge near the aforementioned stop. 2. A Charming and Pretty Accommodation The owner told me that the building is about 40 years old, and they have beautifully decorated every corner while preserving the atmosphere of the old structure. Every single interior decoration item was so pretty and cute that it was fun just looking around the accommodation. Above all, the yard was truly wonderful. I was happy just sitting in the yard, zoning out, without doing anything special. + I don't have any photos of the accommodation itself. The owner gifted me an oxygen tank, and I took a photo to prove it, which I am attaching. The atmosphere was insane. 3. Travelers from Various Countries In all the accommodations I have stayed at so far, I only met Chinese guests, but here, I met travelers from Malaysia, the UK, and Canada. In the evenings, we all ate home-cooked meals prepared by the owner, and the owner even took me to a Chinese Yi festival. Thanks to this, I was able to naturally become friends with other travelers and create wonderful memories even while traveling alone. 4. (Most Important) The Warm and Kind Owner Couple This is the biggest reason why my experience at this accommodation was so special! The owners spoke English, but I couldn't speak Chinese, so we didn't communicate very well. Despite this, they prepared delicious tea for us every day and went out of their way to ensure I could join in the conversation, even using a translator. (The Pu'er tea and Gong Cha were so delicious!!) When we went to Tiger Leaping Gorge, they personally helped us with booking the bus and accommodation, making our trip incredibly comfortable. Seeing how they constantly worried about me and looked after me throughout the trip, I could feel their genuine concern for me. My time in Lijiang felt like a dream, but meeting this guesthouse and the owners was a particularly cherished memory. I was truly grateful that people I met in an unfamiliar city could treat me so warmly. If I ever go back to Lijiang, I will stay here again without hesitation. I highly recommend this place not only to those looking for a comfortable place to stay but also to anyone who wants to meet warm-hearted people while traveling. A Wonderful Stay at Songzhuju Hotel! We stayed at the Songzhuju Hotel for 6 nights and were thoroughly delighted with both the accommodation and the city of Lijiang. Even before our arrival, we felt the genuine care from the staff. Ah Fei contacted us in advance and arranged a transfer from the railway station the day before check-in. Upon arrival, he welcomed us with a traditional tea ceremony and treats, gave us a helpful overview of the hotel, and shared useful information about the city via WeChat. Ah Fei was always available and ready to assist with any questions. In fact, the entire hotel staff was incredibly pleasant and friendly. The hotel itself is excellent. We loved its location within the Ancient City, not far from the North Gate. This made it easy and quick to walk out to the main road to catch a taxi (since vehicles are not allowed inside the Ancient City), while still being immersed in the old town atmosphere. Importantly, it wasn’t in the busiest tourist hub—there were no crowds right next to the hotel, and it was quiet in the evenings and at night. Our room was a two-level family room, very cozy, clean, with comfortable mattresses and pillows, crisp white linens, and daily housekeeping. We also liked the breakfast—a traditional Chinese set menu (not a buffet)—which was delicious and authentic. I’d also like to share some thoughts on Lijiang itself. Initially, we planned to spend only 4 days here, but due to issues with our hotel in Dali, we left it earlier and extended our stay in Lijiang—and we were so glad we did it! Lijiang is absolutely charming. Even 6 days weren’t enough to fully explore it. Beyond the obvious pleasure of wandering through the Ancient City, I highly recommend: - Trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Visit Tinghua Valley Lijiang Flowers—an incredibly beautiful botanical garden with fairy-tale views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Visit Shuhe Ancient Town - Climbing up to Wangu Tower on Lion Hill in the Ancient City for sunset views. We explored all these places independently, booking DiDi rides and purchasing entrance tickets via Trip.com. However, if needed, Ah Fei can help organizing any tours. Also, if you’re not planning to continue toward Shangri-La, I strongly recommend taking a day trip from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge. The best option is the trek from Halfway Guesthouse to Tina’s Guesthouse (or Teacher Zhang’s Guesthouse). This hike was probably the most memorable highlight of my entire month-long trip to China—the views are simply breathtaking. In summary, we absolutely enjoyed both: the region and the hotel, where we were able to have very comfortable rest after busy days filled with excursions and long walks. Huge thanks to the entire staff!

If you're visiting Lijiang's Shuhe Ancient Town, you absolutely cannot miss the amazing Guanxin Inn! The environment here is beautiful, with lush greenery in the courtyard and fresh air that instantly helps you relax. The bedding in the rooms is exceptionally comfortable – a good night's sleep here will leave you feeling completely refreshed! The service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive; no matter what you need, they'll help you out, making you feel as warm and welcome as if you were at home. Step outside the inn and you can immediately experience the ancient town's unique charm and leisurely pace of life, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation and capturing some great photos! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and immersive experience of Lijiang's culture!

Located next to Heilongtan Park, the biggest surprise was its 'tranquil yet central' location. You can reach the park in just a few minutes, and the Old Town is about a ten-minute walk. This allows you to easily immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere whenever you like, then retreat to a peaceful environment. The room's balcony was a great bonus. The hosts were generally warm and welcoming, with thoughtful touches like airport pick-up, tea service, and afternoon tea. Minor drawbacks included the narrow alley making parking a bit tricky, and during summer, there was no snow on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, plus finding a taxi around the Old Town was difficult. Overall, the value for money is better than staying right in the heart of the Old Town, making it perfect for a leisurely trip to Lijiang. We never wanted to leave the guesthouse each day. Finally, a complaint about Trip.com: the same room type was nearly 200 yuan more expensive than on Qunar, which felt like a lot of wasted money! Aren't they part of the same platform company? I'd really like to hear an explanation from Trip.com customer service.

This was truly a unique experience! The price was great, the environment was lovely, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk lady meticulously explained how to see the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' and how to explore Lijiang. The best part? The guesthouse owner turned out to be from my hometown in Chongqing, and even our neighbor! What a small world, you couldn't make this up. We drank tea in the afternoon and had drinks together in the evening – they were so incredibly hospitable! 😍 Next time I'm in Lijiang, I'm definitely staying here again.
