The owner is a very, very thoughtful man from Northeast China. Seeing that I was a young woman and worried I wouldn't be able to carry my luggage, he offered to help me carry it upstairs. He's available 24/7 by phone. The location is excellent; it's just a short walk to a taxi stand and very close to the Starlight Night Market, only a few turns away. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area. I mentioned I'm a light sleeper, and he kindly arranged a very quiet room for me on the far side – truly a peaceful oasis. I also rented their electric scooter, and the owner charged it for me every night, so I didn't have to worry about it at all. It was fully charged when I woke up, making it incredibly convenient to get around. Traveling with such kindness made me feel so warm and cared for. Thank you, Uncle! This experience has further enhanced my positive impression of people from Northern China.

Guest UserBy chance, I booked a stay at the Meishan Inn in Dali Ancient City and ended up staying for 4 days. The entire trip was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. The Bai minority-style courtyard is truly charming and unique. The inn manager was attentive and thoughtful, and the facilities were well-equipped. The room was clean and tidy, and the inn's breakfast was absolutely delicious. The courtyard boasts beautiful flowers and scenery, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling surroundings, yet its excellent location makes getting around very convenient.

Took my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!

Guest UserI absolutely loved my stay at this charming boutique hotel. The hotel itself is very authentic and full of character, located right in the heart of Lijiang Ancient Town. My room had a beautiful panoramic view over the old town, which made the experience even more special.
What impressed me most was the incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff genuinely cared about their guests and always tried to anticipate my needs. Whenever I needed anything, they responded immediately and did their best to help. It really felt more like staying in a lovely family home than in a typical hotel.
One particularly thoughtful detail touched me a lot. When the staff found out that I had to leave for an excursion at 5 a.m., they prepared a special breakfast box for me the night before so that I could take it with me. Such a small gesture, but it showed how genuinely kind and attentive they are.
They also served a lovely afternoon tea with different desserts and snacks, and the staff helped carry my luggage between the parking area and the hotel, which is especially convenient when staying inside the Ancient Town.
Overall, this is a wonderful family-style boutique hotel with authentic charm, beautiful views and truly heartfelt hospitality. I felt very comfortable and well cared for throughout my stay and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

The guesthouse has a fantastic location, just a 5-minute walk to the center of the old town. The owner was incredibly welcoming, offering to help with luggage and providing travel tips. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. Although it's on the street, it was very quiet at night; the attention to detail was excellent. My stay was perfect for a few days, and the value for money was fantastic. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang!

[Lanshe Courtesy] Tea Tasting: The afternoon tea is definitely worth taking your time to enjoy.
I happened to be suffering from altitude sickness and a cold that day, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared brown sugar ginger tea for me. Many thanks!
The hotel is conveniently located about 200 meters from Zhongyi Market, an easy walk.

Anonymous UserWe absolutely loved our stay at Mengjing Yayuan. For context, we usually stay at 5 star hotels when traveling internationally.
The location of Mengjing Yayuan was hard to beat, as it is quite literally a block away from the entrance of Dali Ancient City and the reviews were great, so we decided to book. It is more of a boutique style hotel, but with very good management, facilities, and amenities. The air conditioning in our room was modern/updated and worked very well, which was great since that's not always the case in China.
Communication with the front desk/reception was very easy through Wechat, and any requests were fulfilled very quickly and happily. I speak Chinese, but I don't think it would have been much of a problem if I didn't given the in-built translation on Wechat. They also provide a free laundry service, which was invaluable!
Breakfast was simple, but delicious and filling. You choose a cooked noodle dish out of several options that's made fresh for you, and also have a buffet available, so there was something for even pickier eaters.
Overall, lovely stay and we would totally come back for our next visit!
