Excellent value for money! The room was spacious, and the whole place was clean and tidy. The owner is a Malaysian Chinese, so you can communicate in simple Mandarin, which is super convenient for Chinese guests who aren't fluent in English. The location is pretty good too; there's a bus stop nearby, and it's only about a 10-minute walk to the heart of Georgetown. All in all, at this price point, it's undoubtedly the king of value for money.
Facilities: Although relatively simple, you can feel that the store is full of care and has everything you need.
Hygiene: Very clean, I feel like home in this environment
Environment: Surrounded by Little India, you can walk more than 100 meters to the beach to see the sea. There is a ferry on the other side of the sea.
Service: The service is very good. The boss personally helps you with your luggage, and also asks if you want an omelette. He also gives you an Indian pancake to try, which is very considerate.
Considering the price, this hotel is reasonable for a short stay. It has all the basic necessities, but if you're looking for something particularly comfortable, it's just okay. The main drawback of the hotel is the soundproofing.
This was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.
Super slow internet speed. Don't think about using social media or browse the internet with their wifi. Very dusty underneath the bed & behind the TV. Otherwise, clean bedsheets, towels and toilet.
The accommodation is convenient. You can travel from the pier right away. It is near the fishing village. There is a loklok near the hotel. You can easily walk to street art. It is just behind the hotel. The location is very good. However, the accommodation does not provide drinking water. You have to buy it yourself. At first, it was confusing because the accommodation was newly opened. It is easier to pin the location as SAVV hotel. It will be nearby, but not there. You can walk to find the building according to the comments below.
With the economic price of the hostel, it gets everything including shower (not too hot water), room with air cond. (not very spacious) and a simple free breakfast (only toast with jam/butter & watermelon). Good for backpackers and sth need to know in advance: no shoes allow walking up the stairs to rooms (no lift). Hopefully the cold water section of their water fountain will be fixed, so people can have free cool drinking water without buying bottles.
The staffs were nice and got recommended to try mee sotong😄
Location is good with a lots of eateries just around the corner, room is a bit small and the sound proof is not so good as expected as this is shop houses . But the reception is friendly.

GGuest UserWith the price I paid, I'm totally satisfied with everything, water heater in good condition, air cond running smoothly, 2 toilet paper provided with 2 small bar soap..the room and bathroom is clean, kiblat direction, beddings necessities quite comfortable. I just hope the hotel can add more details on their site, mine don't have windows but no complain since we stay for short time. Iron and drinking water provided at the stairs.
SSarocha RattanaPros:
- The bed was soft and comfortable, I slept really well.
- The air conditioning was super cool.
- The water heater worked well and the water pressure was strong.
- Toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel, and towels were provided.
Cons:
- This is a small dormitory-style accommodation. The first floor requires climbing rather steep and high stairs, which is not suitable for the elderly or those with heavy wheeled luggage.
- The room had no windows and was very small and compact. The room itself was quite old.
- The pillow was too soft and flimsy, making it uncomfortable to sleep on.
- The air conditioner was incredibly loud, the loudest ever!
- The room was not soundproof at all. I could clearly hear conversations and snoring from the next room. This is not suitable for light sleepers, as the noise disturbance could cause frequent awakenings and insufficient rest.
Personally, I slept comfortably, but I was a bit annoyed by the snoring.
There's a deposit of RM50, or you can pay in your own currency, which is returned upon check-out (no receipt provided for the deposit).
There's also a Heritage Fee of RM4.
The service was excellent! The staff member named Subait was lovely and provided great service.
The location is quite quiet and not bustling, a little far from Chulia Street and Lb Lane, but close to the jetty.
