Inside the Stirling university which is a nice and quiet environment, but it requires travelling to the city centre. There is no restaurant which opens for dinner except that in the hotel. The original room on ground floor given to us has a strong odour smell, which did not disappear after cleaning by housekeeping team. The reception initially refused to change the room. Only after we insisted then we were given another room on the first floor, but it wasted us almost 1.5 hour in waiting. Otherwise, everything is very good including the excellent breakfast.

I didn't expect to find such a great hotel in this location! The building itself is an old one, converted from a former middle school. The Scottish lady at the front desk was incredibly professional and welcoming, offering all sorts of helpful information. They have hot spring pools and spa treatments available. The room decor has a classic Scottish style. The bathroom, however, doesn't have a separate wet and dry area. I'm not sure what material the floor is, but it feels soft underfoot and water drains very quickly. Parking is free. The surroundings are filled with ancient buildings and churches, making it a quiet and comfortable place.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very cold - air conditioning system that clearly doesn’t work. Did read other reviews prior to arrival and should have taken note as this seems to be a common complaint. Staff clearly aware as delivered an electric heater without question when asked for one. Breakfast okay. Will not cook poached or fried eggs only scrambled.

The breakfast is simple, the location is easy to find, the scenery is beautiful by the lake, the rooms are small, the facilities are old, pets are allowed, there is a bar and resident singers in the evening, the atmosphere is good, the price is high

A very nice boutique hotel located in the city centre with tourist attractions nearby. My request for a quiet room at the end of hallway was kindly met. Tea, coffee, bottled water and cookies were provided in the room. King size bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel and delicious food. We loved the location and the pool area and facilities. Only issue we had was the heat. It was particularly mild for November and the staff weren’t able to adjust the temperature. We were given a dusty and broken fan to combat the heat but sadly no one came forward with an apology when we brought it to staff that we had to leave the window open wide all night to try combat the heat. I know it wasn’t the individuals fault but good customer service would apologise to the customer and none of the 4 staff we spoke to about it offered an apology and they seemed disgruntled about it too.

GGuest UserI really loved my stay The Allan Park. Such a nice cozy homie place. Very spacious room that has everything you need, staff is really helpful and friendly, cozy lounge room with a fireplace. The only thing I would suggest adding is the hook on a bathroom door for a towel. Would love to stay here in future and highly recommend for anyone.

MMartinThe DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro is set in a truly unique and picturesque location, surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty of charm. The setting itself makes it a special place to stay, and it’s a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The historic building and grounds add to the overall experience, giving it a character you don’t often find in modern hotels. That said, I did notice a few small details that could improve the guest experience — some of the typical hotel amenities were missing, such as basic cutlery and mouth rinse cups in the room. While not major issues, it’s something I would have expected at this level of accommodation. Overall, the stay was enjoyable thanks to the setting and atmosphere, and with a little more attention to those details, it could be an excellent all-round experience.

GGuest UserThere are supermarkets and gas stations nearby, free parking, plenty of parking spaces, very convenient. Stirling Castle is very close, 10 minutes' drive. We arrived at Glasgow Airport early and arrived at the hotel at 11 o'clock, but we were not allowed to check in early, so we had to leave our luggage at the front desk first. We had been on a flight for more than ten hours and wanted to go to the hotel to take a good shower and take a nap before going out to play, but this hotel was unwilling to let us check in early.

NNick EnglandThe room was large and clean and the front desk reception was pleasant and helpful. The hotel lounge and dining areas were large and bright. The decor was drab and dated with extensive use of ugly carpet and wallpaper everywhere. The bizarre shower mixing valve arrangement resulted in the bath tub filling up very fast when taking a shower. The pivoting glass shower door/deflector arrangement made it difficult to impossible to keep shower spray from ending up on the bathroom floor. The bathroom door had no proper handle/latch/lock for privacy and was only held closed with a magnet. Finding parking was a horror story. All regular spots were taken and what was left was utter chaos. Everyone else had just improvised and parked wherever they could find a spot along the drive, on the grass etc... Wi-Fi did not work throughout the ENTIRE stay. The reception staff indicated that the router was likely ”overloaded”. They reset the router but it didn't help. There were no physical LAN drops in the room either. We paid 20 pounds for a breakfast that was at first non-existent (buffet style - almost empty to empty warmers). When we entered the dining area there were few people but many...most tables covered with dirty dishes, cutlery etc...After an extended wait food trickled out. In the mean time we had to search for the coffee (INSTANT coffee made en-masse). The actual food offerings were ok once they appeared but many items were reheated pre-packaged items and there were almost no heathy (fruit, plain yogurt etc...) options.

GGuest UserThis hotel is in a great location for exploring Stirling by foot, can't beat it! It's a basic hotel but has all you really need, with no frills. Staff were fast and helpful, parking on site. Bathroom could have been cleaner, shower pressure isn't great. But rooms were quiet, bed comfortable.
