Location is good, right in the centre & within walking distance to eateries & shopping. Close nearby there’s the Hin Depot, it’s like a weekend flea market. Hotel Service was great, the room that i booked was rather small, city view facing but sun was strong and day time, was abit hot as room window facing the sun. Going green is good, and water dispenser is provided on every floor for our refill. Can i suggest the bottles provided to have a wider opening as when refilling was rather difficult to avoid any spillage, especially taking the hot water Hotel deco is very festive.

The environment and the sea view from the window are both beautiful. The hygiene is excellent, and there's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient for buying things. The only minor drawback is that using the washing machine costs extra, and there are no complimentary disposable toothbrushes or slippers.

Ascott Gurney Penang exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and overall experience. What made the stay even more memorable was the exceptional service from Mr. Khoo Min Jie. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was well taken care of. His attentiveness, professionalism, and warm hospitality truly stood out. Staff like him are a great asset to the hotel. Thank you for making my stay such a wonderful one.

Good stay at Jazz Hotel Penang 👍 Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe. Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!

The hotel is a bit old, but I actually found the bed quite comfortable, unlike some reviews that mentioned sagging. It's in a great location for exploring; just a short walk around the corner and you'll find the colorful shophouses and plenty of local snacks. You'll need to grab a ride to get to Mural Street and the Peranakan Museum. Breakfast was a bit weak; you have to cook your own noodles, and when I went at 9:30 AM, they said they had run out of eggs, which the hotel definitely needs to improve on. Other services were pretty good though.

The hotel rooms are great, and the lobby is lovely too. The service is exceptional, and the gym is fully equipped with Technogym equipment, which is a big plus. The location is excellent, not far from Armenian Street and 1st Avenue Mall. It was also very convenient to get a taxi to the airport at 5 AM.

Everything is good..the room is clean and comfortable, the view is beautiful. The beach is behind the resort. Only the elevator had a big problem. It was too slow, and we waited 20 minutes but still couldn't go down. Full of people. We had to use the stairs to go down to the 15th floor.

Fantastic experience! I hesitated a lot before booking, but I'm so glad I made the right choice. It's an established five-star hotel with excellent service and a rich variety of breakfast options. The best part is the swimming pool – storage, showers, bath, and sauna are all available, and the pool water is very clean. Our room had no strange smells, though we didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping. All the great food spots are within walking distance, and taxis can easily find the location. The front desk staff can communicate perfectly in Mandarin. Highly recommended!

GGuest Userthis hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

GGuest UserA bit far from Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang, where the kids love to play, but very close to the core area of Penang. Suitable for young adults and seniors. Breakfast was pretty good, and the kids absolutely loved the pool. It's not far from central Penang, so shopping and dining are convenient. The melodious call to prayer from the mosque outside lulled us to sleep. Cons: The air conditioning in the lobby was too cold. You could see the distant Penang Bridge, but where was the bay view? :)

AAnonymous UserLet me start with the positives. Because I was worried about ghosts, I booked a room in the newer Victory Wing. I told the front desk I trouble sleeping, and they gave me a middle room on the 9th floor. The room had high ceilings and a sea view, which was quite comfortable. The housekeeping was also good; they turned down the bed in the afternoon, leaving two bottles of water by the bedside. The minibar was complimentary, and cleaning was quite frequent. The drainage in my bathroom wasn't great; the water would overflow my feet if it was a bit strong. I didn't report it, but housekeeping still came to clean it, possibly as part of their routine. The lobby and restaurant staff were all quite nice too. Now for the negatives, which mainly centered around the restaurant. As a five-star hotel, it's unacceptable that there were cockroaches at the noodle station! I truly can't accept this. Malaysians might be more laid-back, but this is a hotel hygiene issue that I believe shouldn't be taken lightly. I don't even want to go into how disgusting cockroaches are. Also, the glasses were always dirty; they seemed to wash them and use them on the spot. Couldn't a hotel of this caliber prepare more glasses?

MMontYQingdaoThis is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at. The staff is exceptional and extremely friendly. The environment is elegant and welcoming. The grounds are impeccably manicured. The dining experience is classy but reasonably priced. The rooms are well cared for, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet has a wide array of options and is very delicious. This hotel is very remote and is a fifty minute drive to Georgetown....but the seaview is worth the extra traveling. Thanks to the ENTIRE staff for giving us such lasting memories. 💛💛

GGuest UserFive stars all around! Big shout-out to the friendly front desk staff. I was torn between JEN Hotel and Wembley, but ultimately chose Wembley because I saw reviews mentioning early check-in, which was a huge draw for me. It's also Chinese-friendly, and the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese. Even though rooms were very tight during Chinese New Year, the hotel still allowed me to check in quite a bit earlier. This gave me a precious three-hour nap, helping me avoid the hottest part of the day and making my first day of sightseeing rich and energetic. Wembley and JEN are just across the street from each other, but Wembley is on higher floors, offering a more expansive view. It's only about 700-800 meters to both Mural Street and the Clan Jetties. There are also plenty of shopping and food courts nearby. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and soundproofing is decent. My only minor complaint: For two adults and one child, we requested an extra comforter, but they brought a blanket instead. Using just a blanket requires quite some courage!

GGuest UserThe semi-transparent door in the room is really not family-friendly, and it doesn't close properly, always leaving a 3cm gap. This severely impacts the sense of security. After complaining to the staff, they just put a lock on with double-sided tape, which, while it allowed the door to lock and reduced the gap, still didn't make it close flush. On top of that, the water pressure is extremely low, and the overhead shower is unusable. The staff mentioned that many guests have complained about this, but it still hasn't been fixed. Although there are two air conditioners in the room, one frequently turns off by itself, requiring me to switch it back on multiple times throughout the night, which disturbed my sleep. The light above the bed was also broken and kept flickering. However, the staff were generally friendly, and the hotel itself is spacious and quite clean.

AAnonymous UserMy stay with OZO Penang was truly awesome! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel facilities were well-maintained and comfortable, perfect for both relaxing and getting around the city. The breakfast spread was a real highlight, a great variety ranging from delicious local dishes to a lovely cheese platter. There was everything from a freshly prepared egg station to a fun ice cream corner, so there was something for everyone. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely recommend OZO Penang to anyone visiting Penang.
