Popular Hindu Temple in Bali, Indonesia
Temple of Penataran Agung Lempuyang, also known as the Lempuyang Temple, is known for the iconic "Gates of Heaven" and massive dragon head statues. It is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes drive from Mercure Hotel in Nusa Dua.
Since it is considered a popular place for tourists, we decided to leave the hotel as early as 5 o'clock in the morning. The place was already crowded when we reached the area. We had to pay an entrance fee, ride a bus, and then walk up the steep hill to reach the temple. From there, we were given a card with an allocated number, which gives everyone an opportunity to have their photo taken at a well-known "Gate of Heaven" in an organized manner. To tell you the truth, we had to wait almost 2 hours for our turn. While waiting, we had an opportunity to explore and admire the beauty of the temple. Although it was raining and cloudy at the earliest hours of the day, we were able to capture beautiful photos and appreciate the place. It is definitely worth a visit!
Just a reminder, ensure that you are wearing appropriate clothing when visiting the temple. They will provide sarong if needed. Unfortunately, for ladies, you are not allowed to enter the temple during your menstruation due to their beliefs. So, plan accordingly.

Gate of Heaven Lempuyang Temple 🇮🇩

The place is really nice and you can really feel it’s sacred. We went there in the afternoon We arrived around 2 pm. Since we were in a group, we waited about 3 hours to capture the photo taken by everyone there
. If it were only up to us, we wouldn’t have waited this long. We will just leave The picture would have been better if I could see the mountain in the back. There are also other places in Bali that offer excellent views and opportunities for great photo shoots.
The guys who sit there take pictures are very friendly and impressed by their patience! I would just suggest whether there is some kind of salad to keep the place clean or even some other boxes as there is a lot of garbage left by all visitors.
We got here around 6.45am and it wasn't too crowded. 55 thousand entries per person, including a ticket for a picture of the sky gates. We were number 28 We weren’t going to wait for the picture after reading the queue reviews but since we were only 28 years old, we decided to wait. You don’t have to get a shuttle bus, the gates are only a 5-minute walk to the top of the hill. They offer a shuttle service for 10,000 per person if you want! We waited maybe 30 minutes but when we finished around 7.30, we saw that people had the number 90 on their card, so if you want a picture, it's worth getting there early! There are 7 temples in total and it takes about 4 hours to explore everything. So glad I came because the pictures are beautiful

📍 Lempuyang Temple
The highlights of this temple is to come and take pictures at what they call the Heavenly gate. On a clear day you can actually see Mt. Agung in the background. When we came it was cloudy but very cool pictures anyway.
🚐 From the parking lot you can take a shuttle bus up to the temple. At this place I would actually recommend taking the shuttle because it’s on a hill that is quite steep.
🎫 Once we arrived at the hotspot we had to pay the entrance and then we got a number. We were 151 and when we arrived they were at 106, so we did have to wait for a while. There are shades to hide under and they will announce your number on a speaker so that you don’t have to stand in line. I did not check the time but we might have waited for two hours.
📸 When it’s your turn you give them your phone and they will take pictures for you, they will use a mirror to get the special effect. Although there is a que we totally thought it was worth it.

Gate of Heaven
#familytrips2024
Our family journey to the ethereal Gate of Heaven in Bali was a spiritual odyssey like no other. Ascending the majestic steps, flanked by lush greenery, we were drawn closer to the towering gates, standing as a portal to another realm. As we gazed upon the breathtaking vista of Mount Agung framed by the gate, a profound sense of awe washed over us. Each step, each moment spent in the presence of such natural beauty felt like a sacred communion with the universe, leaving an indelible mark on our souls.
Looking ahead to our next family adventure, I envision us traversing the majestic landscapes of New Zealand's South Island. From the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps to the pristine fjords of Milford Sound, we'll embark on an epic journey filled with awe-inspiring vistas and unforgettable experiences that will bond us even closer together as a family.

Bali Sky Gate is so Unreal in Indonesia❤️😍
#indonesiatrip
The beautiful seaside scenery, extremely low prices, rich cuisine, and magnificent temples of popular check-in destinations in Indonesia/Bali are definitely something you cannot miss on the island. The visa and entry/exit to Bali are now available for visa applications (Indonesia has five ports for visa applications, and Bali is one of them). Since the end of 2022, electronic visa applications (e-VOA) have also been open for 30 days, but now there are many people on e-VOA and long queues are required for entry. There is no public transportation in Bali, and the most convenient way to travel is by car. Southeast Asia has low prices, and chartering a car only costs about $30 a day. You can communicate your itinerary with the driver in advance and save time. Generally speaking, regarding the itinerary, the Sky Gate and the Water Palace are the same line, the Ubu Palace+Waterfall+Bali Swing+Terrace is the same line, the Water God Temple+Jingdamani Volcano is the same line, and the Southern Sea God Temple+Lover's Cliff+Spirit Eagle Square is the same line.

Lempuyang gates: scam or worth it?
#bali
Have you seen those pictures in instagram of huge gates and pond that reflect sky and gates?
There’s no pond, it’s just a small truck with using a mirror.
Entrance fee is 50 k rupees (3.5$) + shuttle bus that take you to the gates 40 k (2.8$) and if you go there not to the opining time which is 6 a.m, you will wait couple of hours to take a photo in gates because there will be a lot of people!
Actually there is nothing else to see . You can’t enter the temple . Just gates and a few coffee shops.

Bali’s famous heaven gate
Bali's Heaven's Gate, nestled within Lempuyang Temple, promises a glimpse of paradise. But before you envision a serene escape, let me be honest: the "doing" here revolves solely around the iconic mirror-reflection photo.
Forget exploring ancient ruins or soaking in spiritual vibes. The main event is securing your Insta-worthy shot, often involving a patient wait in a queue that can easily reach 200 people.
Remember, this is a religious site. While snapping photos, be mindful of ongoing ceremonies and maintain respectful behavior.
However don’t stress out about the dress code. Everyone, regardless of attire, receives a sarong to wear respectfully within the temple grounds.

TIPS ON HOW TO ENJOY YOUR BALI TRIP
Are you ready to go in Bali? Here are some of the tips that you should know 💯
1. Make sure you plan your itineraries, if possible join any groups in any social media to help you decide on what is better to do. Hiring a private tour guide/driver is the easiest way to enjoy your trip!
2. Food in Bali is quite cheap and there's a lot of western resto and bar but since you're in Bali make sure to try all their Balinese food, trust me you'll definitely love it!
3. Shopping souvenirs is a bit intimidating since all vendors and shops have the same products. They tend to post some price signage which is not the actual price . Make sure to ask them and confirm the price and don't haggle too much (Let locals earn).
4. BALINESE MASSAGE and Water flower therapy is a must!
5. Avoid Bali Belly! Dont drink water coming from the faucet! Eat in a trusted and clean restaurant.
ENJOY YOUR BALI TRIP!
