This is a venerable super five-star hotel with an excellent location, though it's a bit out of the city center, making it quite inconvenient for getting to sights, attractions, and dining. However, the hotel shuttle bus to Kyoto Station is a lifesaver. The hotel was renovated a few years ago, but it still retains its 40+ years of history and luxurious decor, now blended with modern, clean design elements. Charging facilities and hygiene are excellent. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a family trip over Children's Day in May. Banyan Tree is such a renowned brand even in Korea, so I had high expectations when I booked our stay. However, we were hoping for a mountain view, but instead, we got a cemetery view – and on a dark, rainy night, it was quite enough to give us nightmares. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, like soaking in a Japanese cypress (hinoki) bathtub, you'll be satisfied, but I have to say the view was extremely disappointing. On the positive side, the Japanese tatami room vibe was very pleasing, and the aroma oil program at the spa was really interesting.

Kyoto Global Hotel Karasuma definitely has its pros and cons. To be honest, the cleanliness in the guest rooms could use some improvement; the dust in the corners and hair in the bathroom are a bit off-putting. However, beyond that, the value for money is absolutely incredible. The breakfast is a hearty Japanese set meal, and for dinner, you get to choose between a rice or noodle set. All this for a 200-yen room rate, including two meals – I don't know any other place that can beat that! The most impressive part is the large communal bathhouse with a sauna. Soaking in the hot water, which feels just like a natural hot spring, instantly melts away all your travel fatigue. The location is also fantastic; the Karasuma line is just a two- or three-minute walk away, making it convenient to get to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Arashiyama. If you don't mind a few minor cleanliness issues, this is absolutely the king of value in Kyoto. I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in town – because a good soak, a full meal, and a good night's sleep are the truest joys of travel.

Exceptional Stay in Kyoto for the Whole Family! We had an outstanding stay at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto during our family trip. The location is ideal—situated in a quiet neighborhood yet only a short walk from Shijo and Karasuma stations, making it effortless to explore the city's top attractions. Unlike many typical, compact Japanese hotel rooms, the accommodation here was remarkably spacious, exceptionally clean, and comfortable, giving our family plenty of room to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The amenities were top-notch, and the beds guaranteed a restful night's sleep. What truly elevated our experience was the hospitality. The staff demonstrated true Japanese Omotenashi—always polite, attentive, and eager to assist with directions and luggage. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, offering a delicious variety of both authentic Japanese dishes and Western options. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base in Kyoto and would highly recommend it to any family or group visiting the city!

The room is spacious, clean, and tidy. Located right behind Kyoto Station, it's super convenient for getting around. Kyoto Station has an Isetan department store, and the top floor offers a panoramic view of Kyoto and a great spot to watch the sunset. Highly recommended!

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's environment is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were incredibly warm and polite. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing, and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. The hot springs and the hotel's scenery, in particular, are definitely worth experiencing; it was such a blessing to be able to truly relax here during our busy trip. Nestled along the Kamo River's Sanjo area, this modern hotel beautifully blends contemporary design with traditional Japanese aesthetics. I highly recommend the Kamo River rooms! The riverside rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the flowing river, and the sunrise and sunset scenery is truly therapeutic. Inside, there's a public hot spring bath with all the toiletries you need, including skincare samples. The guest rooms feature separate wet and dry areas, and the bathroom fittings are thoughtfully chosen, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. The location is fantastic. It's just a two-minute walk to Sanjo subway station, making it incredibly convenient to get to Kawaramachi and Nishiki Market. The self-service breakfast offers a good mix of Japanese set meals and Western dishes. After exploring Kyoto's streets, it's wonderful to return to the hotel for a relaxing soak in the hot spring. This is an outstanding choice for a hotel in the city center, offering excellent overall quality. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Kyoto. It was a truly delightful four-day stay!

Good hotel to stay in. It's located just above the main Kyoto train. It's also just across the road to the Kyoto Tower, one of the famous attractions. The hotel is clean, quite spacious with 2 single beds and some extra space. Facilities are Good and complete toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, shampoo, etc. Bed is comfortable and can sleep well. Breakfast food are labelled clearly as vegan, vegetarian, etc. There're lots of shops and eateries too around the hotel area. I would stay here again whenever I'm visiting Kyoto.

This is a very Japanese-style hotel, with the onsen (hot spring) being a major highlight. The water quality is excellent, and the facilities are complete. They really go above and beyond with the amenities, offering Japanese sweets and mini ice creams, and even ramen in the evenings. The common areas on each floor are very elegantly designed, and there are massage chairs tucked away around the corner for post-onsen relaxation.

This is a hot spring hotel, and hotels in Kyoto are generally quite expensive. However, this hot spring hotel wasn't significantly pricier than others, so it felt like a pretty good deal. All the hot spring rooms are traditional tatami style. Downstairs, there are several hot spring baths to choose from. They also offer ramen and all-you-can-drink after 10 PM, as well as a buffet breakfast the next morning. After a bath, there are automatic massage chairs in the hallway. I used them several times. It felt like I got a full massage after my bath, saving me the cost of a separate massage. I felt completely rejuvenated!
