This hotel's airport shuttle service is excellent, and the staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. When they saw us struggling with luggage on the stairs, an employee immediately offered to help, which was very thoughtful. The service is meticulous and patient, making for a great overall experience. The facilities are clean, and it offers good value for money. I highly recommend it to travelers who need airport transfers. I'll definitely choose this hotel first next time I visit Almaty.

The location is exceptional for fully enjoying the Charyn Canyon, offering that rare feeling of being alone in the world in the late afternoon or early morning, once the other visitors have left. The rooms are pleasantly furnished, but several issues unfortunately detract from the experience. The bathroom clearly suffers from humidity problems, the shower only provides lukewarm water, and the mattress is far too soft for a comfortable night's sleep. Adding to this, the room's refrigerator compressor runs constantly with a particularly annoying noise; we had to unplug it at 2 AM just to get some sleep. Finally, the curtains aren't blackout, so the room is already flooded with light by 4:30 AM. In summary, the location is absolutely incredible, and the establishment has real potential. However, given the price, the value for money remains very disappointing.

Nomad Kolsay Hotel: My Honest Experience 🏨I booked a private two-day tour to Two Rivers and One Canyon, along with accommodation for the night, through Trip.com. On the platform, Nomad Kolsay was the only hotel option available. Reviews for this hotel, both from domestic and international platforms, were consistently negative: bloodstains on sheets, no hot water, poor hygiene, hour-long waits for the shuttle, and so on. As someone who always relies on Trip.com, my family and I had no choice but to brace ourselves, lower our expectations, and prepare for the worst possible lodging experience. 🏨After the first day's itinerary, our private driver, Xiao Feng, contacted the hotel and arranged a pickup point and time for us. We waited by a small stream between Kolsay Lake and Saty village. Soon, an old Soviet 'tuk-tuk' arrived and picked up travelers who had arrived before us. We continued to wait. The hotel only had one tuk-tuk, and a one-way trip took 20 minutes. So, we waited another 40 minutes. It was already pitch black by 6 PM. 🏨Finally, the car arrived. We got in and began to sway, sway, sway along a dark, narrow mountain road 😂 I closed my eyes, shaking my head and body, trying not to think too much. Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in a dilapidated, empty lot. We got out and saw simple bungalows. My heart sank. No one greeted us, and my heart sank further. 🏨Following the signs on the wall, we found the reception and checked in. Inside the room, it actually looked pretty good. Although there were bloodstains on the sheets, they felt clean; although the tap water wasn't hot, if we turned the hot water tap on just a little, the water was warm. Although there was no bottled water in the room, there was a water dispenser in the hallway and an electric kettle in the room. Although we had to walk down many, many steps to the hotel restaurant for dinner, the restaurant was very warm; the food tasted quite good; and the moon in the sky was bright, full, and beautiful (we happened to catch it on the special day when the full moon appears on the 17th, even though it's the 15th). (Pics 5-7) 🏨Waking up in the middle of the night, I walked onto the balcony, and wow, so many stars, such a beautiful moon, a cool and serene beauty, I loved it 😍; when dawn broke, wow, the beautiful Kolsay Lake was right before my eyes. This was so worth it! 👍👍👍👍 🏨We checked out at 8 AM, but the reception was deserted 😅 As we had agreed the night before, we left our luggage at the reception and walked down many, many steps to the restaurant for breakfast. On the way, we saw little squirrels. After breakfast, following the reception guy's instructions from last night, we walked down the restaurant's stairs ⬇️, and oh my goodness❗️To my surprise‼️To my utter surprise❣️ It turned out that the hotel 🏨 was directly above the restaurant, where we had climbed 217 steps to use the restroom yesterday 😂 It turned out that the hotel 🏨 was right above the Kolsay Lake boat dock ☝️ above ☝️ So, we re-walked around Kolsay Lake in the early morning when there were very few tourists; took many more beautiful photos in the early morning when there were very few tourists; and even took free photos at the paid spots before the staff had arrived. Hahahaha, so happy [New Year's Fireworks Unlock]! Finally, we successfully picked up our luggage at shop number 4 in the parking lot and met up with our private driver. This stay far exceeded my expectations in a good way, hahahaha [laughing emoji]. All the experiences above are true.

This is a highly recommended place to visit when in Almaty. Besides comfortable rooms, there are plenty of activities for families, kids, and even young adults. The views are stunning with many photo opportunities, and the restaurants are excellent. It's the best resort I've stayed at in Kazakhstan with a fantastic breakfast.

decent hotel. for the price, not bad at all. room was large and spacious. seperate showers and toilets is a plus, and amenities included things like towels, extra sheets, toothbrush, tea, kettle etc. location was meh. you know what you’re booking. it’s not too far from the central almaty, about 25 mins by taxi, roughly 2000-3000 tenge. overall decent place for a couple nights stay, no issues at all.
