The staff was very nice, very helpful and good English, spacious room, clean and great amenities, near Kanazawa Castle, traditional Omachi market, very close to Kanazawa Station (walking around 20-30 minutes)(public transport starting operation 7 30 in the morning) and near to public bath house (Onsen), will return to stay next time
Hakuchoro is a classic in Kanzawa, the decor is very tastefully done and the overall atmosphere has character. It’s onsen is natural spring water and though the bath are relatively modest, it never gets crowded. They provide free bus shuttles to and from the Kanazawa station and is a very helpful feature. Rooms are large and well appointed and everything in the fridge - water, tea, orange juice and beers are free and topped up everyday. The stained glass in the lobby area and in the rooms are nice touched included the very nice pottery ware used for breakfast! Breakfast buffet spread is both western and Japanese and they even now have sparkling wine and sake for breakfast!
Definitely has character!
Comfortable stay at a well located hotel in Kanazawa. The rooms were clean and functional, and the overall stay was smooth. The onsen was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. There is also a laundry room available, which was very convenient during the trip. A good option if you are looking for a simple and comfortable base in Kanazawa.
It's fine to stay with children under 12, and there's no extra charge. Some hotels in Japan are very lenient about this, while others are strict, so it's something to be aware of. The hotel has a Muji-style design and a public bath. Aside from the women at the front desk, you mostly use your key card to access the elevators, which is also good. The location is excellent, right across from the seafood market. Taxis aren't expensive either, about 1300 yen to the station.
The location is a bit off to the side of the mountains, but the hotel has a shuttle bus that connects to Kaga Onsen Station, which is very convenient if you book in advance. The hotel is very close to the Tsurusenkei Trail; walking along the tree-lined path with the sound of flowing water is incredibly relaxing.
The hotel exterior isn't particularly modern, but once you enter the lobby, the beautiful decor and antique-style furnishings are a pleasant surprise.
The two indoor onsen facilities are well-equipped with comfortable, warm water, and include complimentary massage chairs and popsicles – a thoughtful touch.
In the evenings, there's a simplified version of traditional Japanese song and dance performance in the lobby, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is very comfortable. Yukata and pajamas are provided, and there's also a section on the first floor filled with various men's and women's yukatas, obi (belts), and ribbons for guests to mix and match. The ladies were dazzled by the choices; it was so tempting that they couldn't leave for half an hour.
Both the Japanese-style dinner and breakfast were very plentiful, and dinner even included a Wagyu beef hot pot. I am very satisfied with this hotel and highly recommend it.
While they champion eco-friendly practices, the amenities aren't super extensive. However, they did provide multi-blade razors and a choice of shampoo and conditioner. Being so close to the station, we could often hear the Shinkansen (bullet train) passing by.

I would recommend staying at this hotel as it’s convenient and budget friendly. Staff were polite and helpful service with a smile.
The room was a bit small, but everything I needed was compact. The locker in the changing room in the large communal bath was small and it was difficult to change clothes when it was crowded. The hot water was a good bath with a thickness
Always been a big fan of the Dormy Inn chain, guaranteed a nice onsen and delicious supper and breakfast. Checking in and out is a breeze. This hotel is located steps away from the JR station as well as bus terminal, very easy to hop on a bus to tour the city. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserLook no further, Mori no Sumika Resort and Spa is absolutely wonderful! The staff are amazing, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, the property to include the hot springs baths is excellent - the food offerings for breakfast and dinner changes each day, the chef serving the freshest seafood, meats, vegetables. It’s a beautiful place that you’ll never want to leave and for sure come back to sooner than later.

KKhal EshamNear train station, about 5-7 minutes walk away. Many choice restaurants, only a few minutes of walking distance away.
15-20 mins walk away from Higashi Chaya, there’s a bus-stop just 2mins walk away from the hotel, with buses going to tourist attractions area.
Room was adequate size for, always clean.
Service of the staff was excellent.
Has adequate breakfast selection, enough to start the day.
GGuest UserIt’s in the middle of nowhere. Though it has been expected, but when we arrived, it is indeed
Not near anything. The hotel provides shuttle service from the Kaga Onsen station.
