A wonderful visit. Perfect service and the temple is definitely worth it. A must-do!
Reviews: 1-day tour to Nikko Toshogu Shrine + Lake Chūzenji: Irohazaka Winding Road/Kegon Waterfalls/Departing from Tokyo
Guest User2024-01-23
The driver sped up and overtook other vehicles, finishing the itinerary around 2 PM. Well, I can only say that I had time to shop back in Tokyo, as many shops close around 8 PM now. Aside from that, the sights were quite nice. Toshogu Shrine was worth visiting, but there wasn't enough time to see the surrounding neighborhoods and a few of the paid palaces near the entrance. Lake Chuzenji was exceptionally beautiful in the sunlight; it wasn't as impressive on a cloudy day. There were seven of us in the car, including one foreigner, and everyone was very punctual. It would have been better if we had more time for sightseeing.

An incredible balance of culture and nature. The Toshogu Shrine is visually stunning with its intricate gold details, and the Kegon Waterfall offers a powerful, scenic contrast. Despite visiting both, the day felt perfectly paced and never rushed. A must-do escape from Tokyo!

The guide was great, but unfortunately the time at the shrine was too short; one hour just isn't enough to see it.
