We were very lucky to be able to get a ride with Bai ethnic minority driver Liang (Jinhua). Driver Liang was very polite and punctual, taking us to all the scenic spots we wanted to visit. Dali is really beautiful, and the weather was really nice. I really wanted to come back again if I had the chance.

Reviews: Dali Erhai Lake Pure Fun Private Charter 1-Day Tour [360° Lake Circuit + Optional Cruise, Private Group]
Guest User2026-09-30
The driver was extremely patient with our group and we appreciate his insights and understanding. The only thing that we would like to highlight is please refrain from bringing your guests to expensive shops and earning commission from the shops. Be honest with where you are bringing your guests and they will be more than happy to oblige. Don't sugarcoat your suggestions of places to go only because you're earning some commission from them.

Reviews: Dali compliant private car at your service, 1-day tour around Erhai Lake [pure play small group/local compliant driver]

Very good, professional driver. We had motion sickness at the start due to the car’s automatic braking but he made sure we had a comfortable ride.

Reviews: Cangshan, Three Pagoda, Xizhou, Erhai Lake, Dali Ancient City Tour for Foreign Tourists
Guest User2025-08-20
The eight of us who had planned the backpacking trip only had one day to spare in Dali. Our itinerary involved taking a train from Kunming the previous evening, doing a day tour, and heading to Lijiang the next morning. Initially, we intended to take a taxi or bus, but we decided that while a private car tour would cost a bit more, it would be more cost-effective. The private car driver paid meticulous attention to detail, such as using a smartphone for translation and always parking closest to our destinations. Thanks to him, we completed a comfortable day tour. At Xizhou Ancient Town, about 100 meters from the entrance, there was a coffee shop opposite the public restroom that was atmospheric and very affordable. They ground the beans on the spot and made an Americano for 5 yuan. In other places, Maxim coffee was 5 yuan. Shuanglang Ancient Town was not very impressive. The S-shaped riverside road offered great photo opportunities. Chongjing Temple, with its Three Pagodas, was also nice.
