Reviews: DMZ Day Trip: Third Tunnel/Dora Observatory/Imjingak/Includes Meeting with North Korean Defectors
Guest User2026-08-23
We had a great day trip with the kids, and our guide, Kim Ji-hye, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There were also a few passengers on the bus from English-speaking groups, so we listened to the tour in both Chinese and English โ quite interesting! Haha ๐ Perhaps because they catered to Chinese tourists, the English explanations about the Korean War were even more detailed.
During the meeting with North Korean defectors, they showed many scenes from movies about North Korean escapes. One defector, an older woman, said she was a North Korean fisherman. When the North Korean government wanted to confiscate their fishing boat, she and her family escaped to South Korea in their boat. Then everyone asked her many questions in English.
Taking photos was prohibited at the observation deck overlooking North Korea ๐ฐ๐ต and at the Third Tunnel. The guide said there was a 30 million won fine for taking photos ๐ญ Inside the restricted area, South Korean soldiers came up to check passports, and some tourists in our group pulled out their Chinese passports of various colors โ so funny! ๐โ

Reviews: 1-day tour to DMZ: Imjingak tourist information center, the third tunnel, bridge of freedom and JSA museum with English and Chinese guides
Guest User2026-05-27
The entire tour, from departure to return, took approximately 9.5 hours. Our guide, Owen, was enthusiastic about explaining history, making the visit even more interesting. He even helped me find my way from the observation deck and used binoculars to see Panmunjom, guard posts, and residential areas in North Korea. Furthermore, he provided helpful suggestions regarding lunch, restroom locations, and the best viewing spots. His Mandarin was fluent, and he understood the needs of the tourists. This tour is highly recommended! ๐โ

Reviews: DMZ day tour: The third tunnel/observation deck/Imjingak tourist information center/meeting with North Korean defectors/Majang reservoir suspension bridge

I participated in the Japanese-language tour, and our guide, Ms. Taka, was incredibly supportive and made the experience very enjoyable. Hearing the experiences of North Korean defectors was also invaluable, and I'm truly glad I participated. At the Mason Suspension Bridge, Mr. Kim was our guide, and he shared many stories and taught me about delicious restaurants and cuisine. Thank you very much.๎ฅ
