This itinerary is too long to explore on your own, so a day trip is a good option. One and a half hours each for Shikisai-no-oka and Furano is generally enough; half an hour for the Blue Pond and 20 minutes for Shirahige Falls felt rushed – basically just enough time to climb up, take a few photos, and the time was up.
We took a minibus with the driver, which had 10 seats. The bus was a bit old but quite clean. However, the legroom was limited, making it difficult to stretch out, and the two-and-a-half-hour journey was a bit tiring!
The driver was a steady driver and a nice guy; he was from Northeast China.★

Although the weather wasn't great, with rain all day, it was still pretty good overall.
Although there weren't any particularly stunning landscapes, the trip was quite relaxing and hassle-free.

The tour was conducted in English by a Chinese guide based in Sapporo. We also mistakenly booked an English guide, and while communication wasn't difficult enough, the explanations of the tour locations seemed a bit lacking. However, the guide was cheerful, drove safely, and was kind.★

It was pretty good. The tour guide was very responsible, explaining things to tourists from different cultural backgrounds in Chinese, Japanese, and English. He proactively took photos for us at the attractions and we visited all the places he recommended. There was no shopping during the trip, which was great!
We visited the Blue Pond, Shirahige Falls, and Asahiyama Zoo. The Blue Pond's colors are beautiful and it's worth a visit! Early May is cherry blossom season 🌸 The cherry blossoms at Asahiyama Zoo are beautiful, and you can often see beautiful cherry blossoms along the roadside.★

Thanks to our kind guide, it was a very comfortable tour. Most of the guests were Japanese, with a few Chinese, and I was the only Korean. I can't believe there wasn't a single one! Haha. They could have just spoken Japanese and Chinese, but since I don't speak Japanese, they guided us in English the entire time. It had been raining heavily since the day before, so the wind and rain were strong on the day of the tour as well, but they took good care of us so we could wait on the bus, and they provided excellent information about the public facilities. Instead of the more popular Biei tour for eating lavender ice cream, I chose the tour that included Asahikawa Zoo to see the red pandas. They were huddled up because of the cold, but it was great to see various animal friends. I am still keeping the postcard they gave us at the end of the tour in my memory album. If you have a long trip to Sapporo, I recommend taking a day-long tour. It was a fun tour!★

It was fantastic! The tour guide was incredibly attentive and took excellent care of us. We saw all the highlights of the itinerary, and the entire trip was very comfortable. The bus was comfortable enough to sit and sleep in, and the minibus wasn't too crowded. Everyone was punctual. Sometimes on vacation, when you want a relaxed itinerary, this kind of day trip is perfect. You can rest on the bus, occasionally enjoy the scenery, and then get off to start playing and taking photos – very relaxing and saving you the fatigue of driving. The penguins were absolutely adorable, and the bears were my favorite creatures to see. The Whitebeard Falls were also spectacular and beautiful. The best part was the tour guide's comfortable explanations and attentive care. Another delightful little detail was that our hotel was the meeting point for the day trip – just go downstairs to meet the bus and head out! So happy! Highly recommend!
