▲ On August 13, 1937, the Second Battle of Shanghai broke out. As the bulk of the Chinese army was ordered to retreat, Xie Jinyuan, an adjutant of the 524th Regiment, 262nd Brigade, 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army, was ordered to lead the "Eight Hundred" warriors (actually numbering over 420 men) to defend the Sihang Warehouse in Zhabei, Shanghai, engaging in a desperate struggle against the Japanese invaders that lasted four days and four nights. In the years that followed, Xie Jinyuan lived up to his mission, demonstrating his commitment, talent, and integrity as a military commander. General Xie Jinyuan and his "Eight Hundred Warriors" became a symbol of national pride.

▲ The West Wall has been scientifically restored to its original appearance from the 1937 battle, including eight artillery shell holes and over 420 rifle bullet holes. Using historical photographs and detection technology, the holes were precisely located to ensure that each bullet hole faithfully depicts the fierce battle scene.
