The tour with Fer was really great. Every single dish was fantastic, even though I'm quite picky about food.

The streetfood tour experience was excellent. Usually we would not have dared to choose the small little shops, because we have no experience regarding quality. Especially when you are not proficient in speaking Spanish, it is a very good option to get accustomed to the local food. Our tourguide Diego was super kind. We loved about him, that he explained everything with competence. You could really feel that he is passionate about the local food and that everyone has a good time. Especially for us it was very helpful, that he spoke more slowly compared to other Mexicans that we know, because we were able to follow all of his thoughts. German is not as fast as Spanish. Moreover, after the trip we got an email with information on ingredients and recipes of the food that we have tasted, so that we can take this experience home. Thank you Diego, it was a big pleasure.

Reviews: Mérida: Walking Food Tour with a local chef and food experts
Guest User2026-10-22
Our guide was Jorge and he was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about all the dishes we tasted and all the spices and special food items throughout the San Benito market. Every dish we tried was amazingly flavorful. The cooking skills of the Yucatan people were eye-opening even for those of us who are "experienced" cooks. Jorge was able to help us save the day when a person in our party was not able to walk to all the locations. He simply went ahead, purchased the food and brought it all back to a central location so we could all enjoy the "tour" together. Thank you, Jorge.

Fantastic walking tour with Gabriel, who was kind enough to share so much insight from both his Yucatán and Mayan culture. Highly recommend!
