Agnes was our lovely tour guide- she guided us both downtown and uptown Entebbe, to both sides of the Entebbe peninsula, along back lanes and cut through tracks that we would never have found , or probably wouldn’t even be on Google maps. Definitely got a feel of life in Entebbe . Some tarmac, some gravel, some unmade bumpy roads. Bikes just adequate- if you are tall , tell them in advance!

Started at 07:00 AM from Nakiwogo Ferry Harbour. The tour lasted about 3 hours, and the boat driver contacted us on WhatsApp in advance. It took about 1 hour by boat to reach the swamp. There, we changed to a smaller boat with two other boat drivers to explore the narrow canals. We spent about 45 minutes in the canals, where we saw a shoebill and many other birds. We then returned to the larger boat and arrived back at the harbour at 09:45 AM. Bring some water with you and wear a hat/cap and sunglasses if its sunny. Give the drivers and guide some tips in US dollars.

An outstanding day! We got to see Ugandan life up close in our drives to and from our destinations offering a unique insight into the people and country. The visit to the falls was very spiritual and worth a day in itself. Touring Jinja and the boat tour to see the source of the Nile were excellent. Jude, the Guide, was an excellent driver who provided interesting commentary enroute. All-in-all, a very worthy outing!

The tour guide was amazing. This is the best way to tour Kampala, hands down. Being in the motorbike avoids traffic and you cover more destinations in a day.
