Daqing Museum

Daqing Museum, formerly known as Daqing Exhibition Hall, was established in 1964 and is located in Sartu District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. It is a comprehensive museum integrating ancient environment, ancient animals and ancient humans. The exhibition hall has a construction area of ​​18,700 square meters and an exhibition hall area of ​​12,000 square meters. It has more than 100,000 fossils and 43 species. The basic exhibitions of Daqing Museum mainly include "Natural Environment of Northeast Quaternary", "Quaternary Mammals of Northeast Quaternary" and "Ancient Human Civilization in Daqing Area". Daqing Museum has wolf fossils and hyena fossils, as well as mammoth and Songhuajiang mammoth fossil skeletons. It fills the gap in the systematic collection of Quaternary mammal fossils in Northeast China. In December 2014, Daqing Museum was rated as the sixth batch of provincial patriotic education bases in Heilongjiang Province. In 2015, Daqing Museum was rated as the national popular science education base for 2015-2019. In May 2017, Daqing Museum was promoted to the third batch of national first-class museums.
