Guest User: Fantastic stay! We stayed in the Club VIP room. Very spacious, a separate toilet in the lounge area, the lounge has a massive projector TV, and a large bathroom with two basins in the bedroom, huge TV in bedroom, super quiet. The hotel is a 1-2 min walk from the main Pingjiang Road area that everyone visits. The service was fantastic too. Very accommodating. You cannot beat this hotel location and price. We will definitely come back!

Guest User: I was genuinely surprised and delighted by my stay at this newly opened Atour S in Suzhou! The front desk staff, Yuanxiao, was incredibly warm and welcoming. They even offered free luggage storage, and the service was super efficient! The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Guanqian Street and Pingjiang Road. A right turn out of the hotel brings you to the bustling Guanqian Street, while a left turn leads to the charming and artsy Pingjiang Road. It's only about a ten-minute walk to Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, so you can easily head back to your 'home away from home' to rest whenever you're tired from sightseeing. The room was spotless, with a stylish, minimalist, and timeless design. The natural light was fantastic. I'll definitely book this place again on my next trip to Suzhou!

More than just a desert! Helan Mountain's Dragon Valley secret realm brings together canyons and forests
📍Basic info | Helan Mountain National Forest Park (Suyukou) · Address: Inside Helan Mountain National Nature Reserve, Helan County, Yinchuan · Hours: April–October, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (last entry at 5:00 PM), hours are shorter in winter, try to arrive early, we recommend entering before 9:00 AM · Tickets: General admission + park shuttle bus are mandatory, cable car and rope bridge tickets are sold separately, buying a package online is more cost-effective Tip: The park shuttle bus is the only way to get up the mountain and is mandatory, the cable car is an optional convenience, not a mandatory purchase. 🚗Transportation guide 1. Driving: The best option. It takes about 40–50 minutes from downtown Yinchuan. There is a large parking lot, making parking convenient. 2. Public transport: Tourist shuttle buses from the city, you can also hire a car. We do not recommend taking regular public buses, as you will still need to take a taxi for a long distance after arriving at the station. We do not recommend off-trail hiking! The "Dragon Valley wild hike" mentioned online is in an unmaintained mountain gully within the protected area. Unauthorized entry is prohibited, and there are risks of getting lost or falling rocks. Please stick to the official park routes. 🗺️Two recommended routes (Dragon Valley secret realm, canyons, and forests) ✅Route A | Easy family-friendly/leisure route (3–3.5 hours, chosen by most visitors) Suitable for seniors, families with children, and those who don't want to hike too much, while still seeing all the highlights. Visitor Center > Helan Mountain Museum (free, see fossils) > Take the park shuttle bus up the mountain > Songtao Villa 1. Optional: Take the cable car 🚡 directly to Qingsong Ridge (the core secret realm) to overlook the canyons and forests. This is where you get the best "Dragon Valley" canyon views. 2. Qingsong Ridge highlights: High-altitude rope bridge, high-wire performance (check show times), and wishing tree. Great for photos; if you're lucky, you might spot blue sheep. 3. Short walk: Century Tower observation deck to see the Helan Mountain canyons and gullies (this is what people call the Dragon Valley secret realm). 4. Take the cable car back down and the shuttle bus back to the Visitor Center. If you don't want to take the cable car: After the shuttle bus drops you at Songtao Villa, you can hike up to Qingsong Ridge. There are many stairs, so it is more physically demanding. ✅Route B | In-depth hiking route (5–6 hours, for hiking enthusiasts) Visitor Center > Shuttle bus > Cherry Valley (stream and canyon, the true deep Dragon Valley gully) > Tu'erkeng > Qingsong Ridge > Cliffside Plank Road (5,300-meter cliffside path, panoramic canyon views) > Songtao Villa > Shuttle bus down the mountain. Key point: The Cherry Valley stream and canyon is where many of the "Dragon Valley secret realm" photos online are taken. The cliffside plank road offers magnificent views, but those with a fear of heights should be cautious. 🔥Must-see highlights 1. Qingsong Ridge: The highest point of Helan Mountain Forest Park. Overlook the layered canyons with forests and barren mountains in the same frame—it's the ultimate photo spot. The high-wire performance and canyon rope bridge are also here. 2. Cherry Valley: Streams, forests, and canyon gullies. This deep valley is the original "Dragon Valley secret realm." It's cool in summer and features stunning colorful forests in autumn. 3. Cliffside Plank Road: Built along a thousand-meter cliff, it offers a view of the entire canyon. It's a rare high-altitude plank road in the Northwest. Some sections are steep, so watch your step. 4. Encounter wildlife: Between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, it's easy to spot blue sheep near the Yinba Ancient Post. Do not feed them, and do not approach or chase them. 📸Best time to visit · May–August: Lush green forests, great for escaping the heat; September–October: Autumn colors, the best atmosphere; winter snow scenery is also stunning. · Within a day: Enter before 9:00 AM for soft light and fewer crowds; watch the canyon sunset in the afternoon. It's windy in the mountains, so bring a light jacket even in summer. ⚠️Tips & gear (very important) 1. Large temperature difference in the mountains: A sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a light windbreaker are essential. It is 5–8°C cooler on the mountain than at the base, so short sleeves will be cold. 2. Bring your own drinking water. There are few kiosks on the mountain, and prices are high. Bring some snacks. 3. Do not leave the trails to hike in unmaintained gullies! The wild valleys in the protected area (the "Dragon Valley wild hike" mentioned online) are restricted zones. There is a high risk of falling rocks and getting lost. Unauthorized hiking is strictly prohibited. 4. The rope bridge and cable car are optional, self-paid activities. If you have limited energy, you can skip them; the flat plank roads are also very beautiful. 5. Open flames are strictly prohibited in the park. You cannot bring portable gas stoves for barbecues. 🍚Food/accommodation · There are very few dining options in the park, mostly simple snacks. We recommend bringing your own lunch, or returning to downtown Yinchuan after your visit to eat hand-grabbed mutton or Helan Mountain mushroom chicken stew. · Day trip: A round trip from Yinchuan is perfectly feasible. If you want to see the starry sky, you can stay in downtown Yinchuan. Before I left, I saw many posts warning against it, and I always thought the desert was just scorching heat, intense sun, and barren. It wasn't until I came to Zhongwei in September that I realized it's completely different. 🏜️ The weather is so comfortable I don't want to leave In September, the daytime high in Shapotou is only around 24°C. The sun feels warm, and the breeze is cool. After 6:00 PM, the temperature drops, and it feels 5–8°C cooler than cities at the same latitude. It was sunny most of the days we were there, with just the right amount of sunlight that wasn't blinding. A light jacket is just right. 🌅 The sunset was the biggest surprise of the trip The desert at dusk is truly incredible. The sky is filled with orange-red sunset clouds covering the dunes, transitioning in layers from golden yellow to orange-red and then deep purple. The raw photos look amazing without any editing 📸 We stayed at the Desert Suosuo Resort Hotel. The floor-to-ceiling windows in our room faced the sea of sand, so we could lie in bed and watch the sun slowly sink behind the dunes. The infinity pool in the public area is also a perfect spot to watch the sunset, with yellow sand, blue water, and the sunset glow creating a perfect atmosphere~ Don't miss the "Desert Window" on the third floor of the Desert Auditorium, where the square white frame turns the sunset and dunes into a painting 🖼️ 🌌 Look up at night and you'll see the Milky Way There's less sand and wind in the desert in September, so the starry sky is exceptionally clear. I booked free admission for Mondays, but I still needed to buy a shuttle bus ticket, which didn't apply to the number of tombs I visited. Normally, you first visit the Western Xia Imperial Tombs Museum to learn about that period of history, then walk along a rather long path to take the shuttle bus. Generally, you visit Tomb No. 3 first, then take the shuttle bus and horse-drawn carriage to Tomb No. 4, and then take the shuttle bus back to the starting point. The overall route was smooth, and the shuttle bus service was quite timely. However, the distance from the entrance to the shuttle bus station is a bit far, which might be inconvenient for disabled or elderly tourists. Overall, it was a good experience.

The Tengger Desert is one of the famous scenic spots in Zhongwei, Ningxia. It is very close to Shapotou and has beautiful and charming scenery. It is very suitable for family travel. Riding a camel in the desert feels very comfortable and is many times better than the experience of gravel roads. The thrilling desert assault car and the fun of sliding down the sand on a plastic board from the slope are also very enjoyable. Overall, the desert play experience is still good. 绿色大白鲨Liupan Mountain National Forest Park
A great place for hiking, with tons of negative ions! Currently, three areas are open to the public, with Xiaonanchuan as the core attraction. The botanical garden is still under construction and not recommended for now. Liangdianxia is Genghis Khan's summer retreat and doesn't require a long visit. PS: A thorough visit to Xiaonanchuan takes about an hour. It's recommended to enter by water. After reaching the end of the path, climb a short flight of stairs and then hike a little further. You can take a shuttle bus back to the bus stop (ticket price is 10 yuan). The walk down to the bus stop without the shuttle bus is 3km. It's best to visit in the morning.
