My overall stay was quite good, meeting my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, tastefully decorated, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The location was convenient for getting around, and the public areas were well-maintained and spotless. The thoughtful details and excellent value for money made for a relaxing and peaceful stay. I would definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost Perfect Stay! 📍 Location: Superb! Super convenient for exploring the city 🚇 🏢 Room: Stayed on the 36th floor (highest level) – the view was absolutely stunning! 🌃 Room looks modern and very clean. 🧺 Amenities: Loved the mini fridge, washing machine AND dryer in-room 🧼👕 – so practical for longer stays! 🪳 One downside: Unfortunately spotted a cockroach during my stay, which was disappointing. But it was taken care of by the cleaner. Otherwise, this would easily be a 10/10! Overall: Great value, amazing view & facilities – just hope the hygiene issue gets addressed. Would still recommend with a small caution. ✨

I have to commend this hotel for its exceptional accommodation of late-night travelers. They specifically support check-ins in the early hours, meaning no matter how late you arrive, you can always check in as the hotel never closes. This completely solves the problem of finding no available rooms after late flights or train journeys. The staff working the night shift maintained an incredibly high level of service, being polite and gentle without any sign of fatigue. The check-in process was quick, smooth, and completely un-delayed. The room itself was exceptionally well-maintained, with a clean and hygienic environment in every corner. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning night views, and the quiet late-night atmosphere, combined with the city lights, created an incredible ambiance. The room's detailed amenities were very thoughtful: the soft-light desk lamp was perfect for nighttime use, not harsh or disturbing to the eyes; the mirror was clear and clean; and the independent bathroom was dry, odor-free, with smooth drainage. The room also came with a silent mini-fridge, very practical for storing drinks, and the mosquito repellent liquid placed in the corner ensured a peaceful and secure stay even during summer nights. The bedding was flat, clean, soft, and skin-friendly, providing a relaxed and comfortable sleep. The only minor drawback was the average soundproofing, as faint outside noises could occasionally be heard. However, overall, with its thoughtful late-night service and clean, comfortable rooms, it's the top choice for anyone traveling late at night.

The property is perfect in terms of quality but accessibility it not convenient as you need to walk up several sets of stairs to enter the complex. Not ideal if you have heavy, cumbersome luggage. Having the facility to wash your clothes on site if a massive bonus and made it very convenient. Especially during my stay when it was hot, humid and severely raining. Overall I couldn’t not fault the location. Central to everything you want to see and do in Guangzhou. I highly recommend it if you on a budget or you don’t like busy crowds or you want to have a feel for local cuisine and lifestyle.

Great location not far from the South and North Airport of Guang. Terminal 1 transfer available, also Bus 708 will take you pretty much there. Watch for the direction the further away from exit gates goes north that is what you need. The hotel might had better days looking at the pictures, now it is more China feeling than Switzerland. But the staff is there 24/7 and helps you with basic needs. Book your transfer ahead as you might not have space on the time slot needed. Just one street away there is a vivant food stores and restaurants available, you can have a taste experience in Cantonese food.

J Residence(Xiancun Metro Station, Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou)

Check-In: Smooth as Silk From the moment we stepped through the doors, the experience was effortless . Check-in was a breeze, and then came the surprise of a lifetime — we were upgraded to a 3-bedroom suite! Talk about starting a trip on the highest possible note. It set the tone for what would become one of my most memorable hotel stays ever. Service: The Heart of J Residence If I could bottle the warmth of this staff and take it with me, I would. Blum and Shelly were absolute standouts — genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel like honored guests rather than just another reservation. But honestly? Every single staff member we encountered was a gem. They were patient, friendly, accommodating, and incredibly responsive to our needs. Oh, and they speak English, which made communication seamless and stress-free. In a city where language barriers can sometimes be tricky, this was a huge relief and added so much comfort to our stay. The Room: Spotless, Spacious & Stocked The suite was immaculate — and I mean spotless from corner to corner. It had every amenity you could possibly need, plus extras you didn't even know you wanted. The views from both the bedrooms and the living room areas? Breathtaking. ❤️ Waking up to that scenery and unwinding with it in the evening was pure magic. It was the kind of space where you immediately kick off your shoes, sink into the couch, and think, ”Yeah, I could live here.” Breakfast: A Feast with a View The buffet breakfast was next-level. An incredible spread of food and drink options that went far beyond the standard hotel fare. Whether you're a savory breakfast person or have a sweet tooth, there's something (or ten somethings) for you. And yes — the views from the breakfast area were just as stunning as the ones from our room. Eating pancakes while gazing out at Guangzhou? Chef's kiss. The Vibe: Clean, Chic & Convenient Everything — and I mean everything — was spotless. The property radiates a sense of care and attention to detail that you don't find just anywhere. Bonus perks: There's a movie theater, KTV, and a cool cocktail bar right downstairs on the first floor. Just step outside, go next door to the left, and you're there — it's that close! Perfect for a fun night in without going far. Location: Prime Real Estate for Exploring You couldn't ask for a better spot. K11, tons of shops, diverse food options, the metro, and buzzing bars are all within easy reach. Whether you're in the mood for high-end shopping, local street eats, or a night out, it's all at your fingertips. Easy access to everything you'd ever need or want. The Verdict I love, love, LOVE this hotel. It has officially earned its place in my top 3 favorites in all of Guangzhou — and that's saying something. If you're looking for: ✅ Unbeatable cleanliness ✅ Genuinely friendly, English-speaking staff ✅ Delicious on-site dining ✅ Jaw-dropping views ✅ A prime location with everything nearby Come to J Residence. You will NOT be disappointed. We genuinely didn't want to leave. This wasn't just a hotel stay — it was an experience. 10 stars across the board! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place deserves special praise. The hygiene standards far exceeded expectations, and the entire apartment was meticulously cleaned to leave not a speck of dust behind. The rooms were fully equipped and brand-new, and the audio-visual equipment provided a great experience. The staff were extremely attentive throughout the stay, arranging convenient pick-up and drop-off services at the port. The air conditioning and WiFi worked perfectly. It’s just a short walk from the East Gate business district, offering everything you need for travel, dining, and entertainment. It’s highly recommended for friends visiting Shenzhen.

Somerset Haizhu Centre Guangzhou

As someone who has stayed across multiple CapitaLand and Somerset properties over the years, I usually have a fairly clear benchmark of what to expect in terms of layout consistency, operational standards, and guest experience. Unfortunately, my recent stay at Somerset Haizhu Centre Guangzhou fell noticeably short of that brand standard. Starting with the physical condition of the unit, the overall upkeep feels tired. The tiles and grout in particular were visibly dirty in several areas, which immediately gave the impression that the property is overdue for a proper refresh or renovation. For a serviced residence positioned under the Somerset brand, this is quite a basic maintenance expectation that was not met. The apartment configuration also felt oddly thought through. A two bedroom unit designed for four guests, yet only one bathroom is provided. At the same time, there are three televisions in the unit, which feels disproportionate and not particularly practical from a guest usability standpoint. It is one of those setups where design decisions seem disconnected from actual guest needs. If this is the actual configuration, it would be more honest and guest friendly to label it plainly as a “两房一厕套房” rather than a “两房豪华套房” that implies a higher level of convenience than what is actually provided. Operationally, there were several gaps in service delivery. At check in, there was no clear explanation of facilities, no proactive sharing of key information, and even basic essentials like the WiFi password were not provided until I had to ask for it myself. These are small touches, but they significantly affect the overall arrival experience, especially for a serviced residence. Housekeeping provisioning was also inconsistent. For a four person booking, only three towels were provided. Similarly, there were only two glasses in the bathroom area, and no cutlery or basic kitchenware setup was provided, which is usually standard across Somerset properties. These inconsistencies make the stay feel more like a partially serviced apartment rather than a fully serviced residence. On the facilities side, the gym not operating twenty four hour access is another miss, particularly for business or long stay guests who expect flexibility. The in room amenities also need attention. Hot water in the shower was only reliably consistent for about ten to fifteen minutes before turning noticeably cooler, which makes longer showers inconvenient. There were also very limited charging options in the room, with no proper USB or conveniently placed plug points for modern device charging needs. This is increasingly a basic expectation in serviced accommodation today. Overall, while the location and brand affiliation might set certain expectations, the execution at this property does not reflect the usual Somerset standard I have experienced elsewhere. In its current state, it really feels like the property requires a significant operational reset and likely a refurbishment to align back with brand positioning and guest expectations.

I've stayed here before and I'm back again! Highly recommend it, this duplex apartment near Shenzhen North Station is perfect for short trips! The room is clean, tidy, and clutter-free, with warm decor that feels cozy and relaxing. The duplex layout is open and spacious. It's fully equipped with essential appliances like a fridge, washing machine, and dryer, and the internet is stable. The floor-to-ceiling window offers an excellent view, and the city lights at night are truly mesmerizing. Downstairs, there are all sorts of food options nearby, and it's a quick walk to North Station, making transfers to high-speed rail and subway effortless and time-saving. It meets all your travel accommodation needs, ensuring a comfortable and worry-free stay.
