Consistent with chain hotels. Check-in is available around 2:30 PM. You can use the restroom and store your luggage beforehand. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the train station, just turn right.

Because I was traveling by train through Europe, I chose a hotel less than 200 meters' walk from Salzburg Central Station. The modern decor was simple, and the facilities were adequate. Aside from being reminded to bring my own toothbrush and slippers, everything I needed for a two-day stay was there. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were straightforward, and they offered free luggage storage. The best part was the rooftop breakfast restaurant with panoramic views of Salzburg city and the fortress. We even got to see it after a snowfall, and the view of the rooftops was really nice. The buffet was generous; besides the usual German-speaking staples of tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, there was a rich array of local breakfast options. On the second floor, there's a lounge and coffee bar with a window overlooking the train tracks, which makes for a great photo op. I recommend a larger Salzburg restaurant that you can find on Dianping (a Chinese review site), located about 200 meters from the hotel. It's popular with both locals and tourists, and the food tastes great. The beer is also highly recommended, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable for Central Europe, typically around 80 to 90 euros for four people.

We came thinking the resto and bar would be open, but found out we were there out of season. We booked on Trip.com which didn't have the details on the closure for low season, so check the website for details depending on the time of year. Otherwise the place was nice, parking was easy, and the view from the hotel was great. It's about a 7 minute drive up from the town.

The hotel has been recently renovated, so the facilities are great and it's very clean. It's really close to the train station and not far from the main attractions and the old town either. Thanks to the double-glazed windows, it's super quiet at night. Upon check-in, you get complimentary chocolates and a bottle of water; anything extra has to be purchased. There's a free sauna and gym upstairs. It's not super luxurious, but it's cozy and comfortable. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and the hotel emails you a free Salzburg transport card, which allows you to use all local public transport for free. There's also a bakery nearby with excellent bread and cakes.

The hotel was more conveniently located for public transportation (trolleybus) to Salzburg city center than I had expected. Many lines pass right in front of the hotel, and there is a large shopping mall and supermarket next door, where we could easily purchase groceries during our stay. Despite the hotel being very busy and crowded with guests, the staff at the reception desk and the breakfast restaurant were all friendly and attentive. The view from the hotel lobby was also very nice. One neutral point is that the hotel's entrance sign on Sterneckstrasse could be improved. We spent about two minutes walking around the building trying to find the entrance. Perhaps you could consider adding more signage or a clearer indication of where the entrance is? Unfortunately, I encountered some issues that overshadowed these positive aspects. Having had a very satisfying experience at a BW hotel in Bologna, Italy (which I hadn’t expected much from since it was just a one-night stay during a road trip, but everything from the breakfast to the bed and interior was fantastic), I had high expectations for this BW Plus hotel as well. Since I visited during a busy tourist season, I didn’t expect an early check-in and everything seemed fine until I entered the room in the evening. First, I found what appeared to be traces of a previous guest in the toilet—yes, a small spot of something brown. It was tiny, less than a quarter the size of a fingernail, but it was still noticeable. I have poor eyesight and often get scolded by my wife for not noticing things like this. I also noticed similar dried brown stains on the bathroom floor, which I assumed were the same thing. The showerhead had limescale and mold, which didn’t leave a good impression. These are issues that could be easily resolved with a bit of bleach, and I thought it would be nice if the housekeeping staff paid more attention to such details. The most disappointing thing was the pillow filling, which I’ll simply attach a photo of here. Many guests, especially those from Asia, praised the breakfast highly in Google reviews, so I had some expectations. However, having stayed at many hotels in Europe, I didn’t find it particularly special. In terms of taste, I would rate it around 70-80 out of 100. (To be specific, I would compare it to breakfast at other four-star hotels like the Grand Hotel International Prague or the Holiday Inn City in Düsseldorf) In conclusion, despite these issues, I still want to give the hotel a 4-star rating. This is because I was able to book a room just two weeks before my trip for a rate of around 150 euros per night, which is quite reasonable during peak season in this area. I am confident that with a little more attention to cleanliness and room hygiene, this hotel could quickly improve its customer satisfaction. Despite the concerns about hygiene, I was overall satisfied with my stay at this hotel. This review is written not as a criticism but as a form of encouragement. Thank you to the staff and management at the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg hotel.

What stood out to me the most was that the front desk asked for my personal home address and email, citing the current unstable situation. Remember to pick up the free bus pass. The room facilities are relatively new and decent. There's a McDonald's downstairs, and a bus stop right outside for getting to the city center. To reach the lake district, you can walk through the tunnel and catch a bus.

We chose Hotel Stein because of the location and beautiful view from the hotel room. It has a nice rooftop bar and restaurant Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We wanted to visit Designer Premium Outlet and they guided us on map, directions to board the bus. One of the front desk lady even offered to give us a slip of paper to exchange for discount vouchers at the premium outlet. Rooms were new, clean and updated. Nice lounge area at the ground floor lobby.

Nice And cosy hotel at the edge of Salzburg old town. Location is great and it is easy to walk everywhere from there. Rooms are small but clean and with nice wood floors. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is nothing spectacular but absolutely ok. Great value for money.

The room itself was very spacious and generally comfortable, so in terms of physical space and basic facilities, the experience was acceptable. However, several service-related details significantly affected my overall impression. First, this was the first hotel I stayed at in Europe that does not offer complimentary luggage storage, which was very inconvenient, especially for travelers arriving early or leaving later in the day. More importantly, there was a serious issue regarding privacy and housekeeping procedures. In most hotels, rooms are cleaned only when guests place a “please clean” sign on the door or explicitly request housekeeping. In this hotel, staff went door to door knocking, and when there was no response, they entered the room directly. This felt intrusive and disrespectful of guest privacy, and it was quite uncomfortable. It also seems inefficient and unnecessary for the staff themselves. While the room size and general comfort were fine, these service and management details were disappointing and do not meet the expectations of a hotel at this level. With better respect for guest privacy and clearer housekeeping protocols, the experience could be greatly improved.

GGuest UserThe room is a bit packed as the bed is super big. Having said that, the room is nicely designed and decorated. Free mini-bar with daily refill is rarely found in hotels in Europe. The buffet breakfast is absolutely the highlight. The omelette is crispy outside and molten inside, preserving the freshness and original flavours of all ingredients. Must try! All hotel staffs are polite and helpful. In terms of location, whether or not it is convenience, it depends. It is in the middle of Salzburg central station and the old town, going to either location is about 12 minutes walk. Salzburg down town is not big anyway. Everything is in walking distance.

GGuest UserThe suite is incredibly spacious, which is a huge plus for families. Kids (even two!) can comfortably use the sofa bed in the living room, while adults get their own separate and equally spacious bedroom. The soundproofing is good. My only real complaint is the carpet in the room. Breakfast was okay, but not amazing – for the price, I'd expect a bit more. The €19 garage fee is acceptable, though you might find free parking in the neighborhood if you drive around a bit (I didn't notice any blue lines or special permits on parked cars). The spots in the garage are extremely tight, requiring precise maneuvering. Would I return? Yes! Especially since it's hard to find anything better in Salzburg for around €250 a night.
