"This hostel exceeded expectations, for me.
The rooms had comfy beds, large lockers and air-con. The free breakfast was delicious and home made and they even do family dinner each night which is great value and a fun way to meet people. The bathrooms were basic but functional and clean and I didn't have to wait for a shower.
The pub downstairs was lively and good value.
I would suggest bringing ear plugs though as the live music goes on quite late some nights so if you want to sleep you'll need them."
The Kinlay Hostel Eyre Square provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Galway will find that the Kinlay Hostel Eyre Square is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is conveniently located a short 300m drive from Galway (Ceannt) Station. Famous local attractions Spanish Arch, Riverside Walk and Quay St, can all be reached with a short walk. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic.
"Great place that I will definitely recommend to anyone. Location is central, easy to get to almost anywhere. Reception staff are friendly and resourceful, providing informations that you’ll need (such as things to do and places to go in Galway, tours available, and even the best pubs and food areas around) during check-in.
Common area is simply amazing. Room is clean and cosy with comfy beddings. Bathroom is clean and considerably big.
10/10 experience over here!"
AAnonymous UserGreat place to stay and we enjoyed ourselves. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Definitely coming back again for the comfort, services, breakfast and free parking.
GGuest UserLong established Hotel in the Galway Salthill seaside resort, great for a winter break looking out at the howling Atlantic, plenty of good walks, and Galway city centre a decent walk or bus away, though you'll walk it faster than the bus when the afternoon traffic ramps up. Hotel food very good, the Pier 56 restaurant food was quality. There's also a higher end menu in the main restaurant, and even tasty bar bites in old pub styled bar. Rooms are large, plain and functional, with robust heavy duty old school hotel furniture, plain painted walls. A lot of the public areas are upgraded from previous decades, the main restaurant, bar and the bistro stylishly upgraded. Room bathrooms all up to the minute. Good value for a low season stay in November. Can't fault it.
MMichelleI recently stayed at the G Hotel. While there were some wonderful aspects, it didn’t quite live up to the glamorous impression it gives online. The location is a bit away from town and not truly on the lake as described. About half the rooms overlook the parking lot, which is disappointing. The foyer feels more like a three-star hotel — not the luxury welcome I expected. The hallways to the rooms were poorly lit, and the carpet made it difficult to roll luggage, even with a great suitcase.
On the positive side, the staff was absolutely amazing. Every person we encountered went above and beyond, delivering genuine five-star service. The hotel rooms themselves were spacious, stylish, and very comfortable — really lovely once you got past the initial impression.
What stood out to me is that just down the road, the Galmont Hotel lobby was exquisite — exactly the kind of first impression I would have expected from the G Hotel. If the G could match its service and rooms with a lobby and setting to match its image, it would truly be a standout
GGuest UserLovely hotel spotless room, I loved swimming pool with sauna and steam room, locker rooms unbelievable mirrors hair dryier I think there was 5 at least. Can’t say anything less than amazing abut this hotel.
HH-ZiWeiThe hotel boasts an excellent location, situated at one end of the main street with the riverfront right on the other side. El Square is also just a pleasant walk away at the opposite end of the main street. The only minor issue was that the air conditioning wasn't cooling very effectively, but fortunately, the weather wasn't hot, so it wasn't a problem.
GGuest UserThe location is good, close to restaurants and supermarkets. I didn’t like that so many things were broken. The shelf in the bathroom was loose and tilted, the wall lights next to the beds needed tightened as well, as they flipped on the side. The bathroom door handle and lock didn’t work. We had some long dark hair in our room. A lot was broken or crooked.
It was ok for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer. The girl at the desk was not very knowledgeable regarding her surroundings. I’ve asked about the Burren.
The Italian restaurant was good, the breakfast in the morning was good as well. However I emailed the hotel for gluten free options but I didn’t get any.
JJunGreat location for travellers! This 3-star hotel is conveniently situated near the bus station, making it easy to get around the city. The rooms were comfortable and clean, offering the essentials needed for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with directions and recommendations. While amenities are basic, it’s a solid option if you’re looking for convenience and value in a central location. Perfect for budget-conscious travellers or those just passing through!
GGuest UserThe hotel is very cozy, with excellent service and good facilities. Breakfast is 15 euros per person, not very extensive, but still acceptable. There is a bar in the lobby. The hotel has its own parking lot, which is very convenient. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Galway next time.
