The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to get to all the main attractions. The surrounding scenery of the hotel itself is also beautiful, and the facilities offer a great experience. While the dining options are quite varied, the Japanese cuisine isn't among the best, and the ingredient selection is just average. There are some seafood restaurants nearby that can offer a good alternative.

I stayed in both the main building and the annex, and the annex offers significantly better value for money than the main building. All facilities are shared, and I highly recommend the hot spring. I spent the first night in the main building and the second in the annex. Before arriving, I saw pictures with a Syrian-style aesthetic and mentally prepared myself for something run-down. However, I actually found the annex, with its Japanese-style design, to be superior to the main building and more suitable for younger guests. The only drawback was the overly rigid front desk staff. After checking out of the main building, I seamlessly processed my check-in for the annex, but still had to wait until 3 PM to get the keys. Also, on the night of my check-in, I could hear a group of Korean girls chattering loudly on the public balcony downstairs from my room on the second floor; they kept talking until past midnight.

The room is very big, with great views and is very quiet. It is located close to Shirahama Station and the seafood market. The bus to the door is a 10-minute walk. The road is a bit dark at night. It is very convenient to take the bus to the beach and the Three Broken Walls, but the waiting time is too long. There are not many places to eat around. There is a pretty good ramen restaurant near the bus station. I suggest you either go back to the hotel after eating or book dinner at the hotel. The hotel actually has a shuttle bus that can take you to Shirahama Station. You just need to make an appointment with the front desk in advance, which is great. It's a bit inconvenient that you can't take a shower in the house, you can only go to the hot spring, but the hot spring is open from 6 to 9 in the morning. If you get up late, you may not be able to take a shower. We didn't dare to try it. A full meal for two people at the seafood market only costs 300 RMB. To go to Nachi Taisha Shrine and Kumano Kodo, you have to calculate the bus and Kuroshio Current time. It is still worthwhile to go there and back in one day. It is much more convenient than Kii-Katsuura. I stayed here for four days and three nights. I went to different places every day and came back to soak in hot springs to relieve fatigue. It is very cost-effective. By the way, Conan fans will feel very good.

The Marriott's location is superb. It's about a 2000 JPY taxi ride from Shirahama Station, which is very convenient. Shirarahama Beach is just a five-minute walk away. The view of the beach from the 11th floor is exactly like something out of Detective Conan! We enjoyed the hot springs in the evening and morning. The garden view room offers a perfect, front-row seat for watching the sunrise. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and provided excellent service. We had a perfect Goddess Festival, listening to the melody of the Pacific Ocean and savoring fresh tuna. I absolutely love Nanki Shirahama!

We had 3 nights stay fronting the sea. Walking about 10 minutes to train station along covered walkway. Besides, many restaurants to hunt for meals. The hotel provide simple breakfasts which come handy for our hike to Kumano Kodo trail and Nachisan waterfall. Pretty close a big free footbath and morning fish market not far from the hotel. Near the train station they are many buses to Nachisan waterfall and Shingu town. Quite a peaceful fishing town.

The hotel has a small house across from the fish market for guest registration, where you wait for a small boat to take you to the island. I'm not sure why no one informed us about this after booking on Trip.com. No emails, no texts, no in-app messages. After arriving in Kii Katsuura, we had to use Google Maps to figure out how to get to the island ourselves. We were directed to a very secluded pier, the closest one to the island, but the hotel's boat didn't even stop there. We had to call the front desk, and they directed us back to the fish market to find the registration office. I'm very sure that, even on the day of my check-in, there was no information on Trip.com about how to get to the island. The hotel itself is incredibly thoughtful. There's a hiking trail that takes about 15 minutes to reach a mountain observatory and a foot bath, for which towels are even provided. Both the male and female indoor and outdoor baths are excellent. We also tried the private bath at the cape, which was also great; all the baths are genuinely very close to the sea. The women's bath on the second floor even has a bath where you can lie down, and the outdoor rotemburo in the women's bath features a cave landscape, which is very unique. Dinner is a sukiyaki that you cook yourself, and the meat is good. Breakfast includes three small platters and a buffet, which is also very generous. At different times, there's free-flowing beer, plum wine, sake, and ice cream. The only minor drawback is that there are no vending machines in the hotel; if you want juice, you have to buy it from the first-floor shop before it closes. Overall, I highly recommend staying here because the hotel is simply outstandingly thoughtful.

This was the most satisfying and cost-effective hotel among my seven trips to Japan. Arriving early and unable to check in, I stored my luggage on the first floor; the process was simple and easy following the instructions. Transportation: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to JR Kushimoto Station, generally coinciding with the arrival times of the Limited Express Kuroshio. The driver will help with luggage. Additionally, the Kushimoto sightseeing bus stops at the hotel entrance. To take the community bus, it's about an 8-minute walk to the B&G Marine Center. The first-floor lounge area offers a variety of complimentary drinks, beer, and draft beer, along with unlimited snacks, from 3 PM to 5 PM. The view overlooks the hotel's outdoor swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean. From 5 PM to 10 PM, everything else continues except for beer. The mountain view room is very large, over 30 square meters, although the facilities are slightly outdated. There's a shop selling Wakayama souvenirs on the first floor. Finally, I must mention the onsen (hot spring). While there are no private baths, the public bath is very large, and the water temperature is similar to home bath water. The large public bath also has a door leading to the outdoor hot spring. After soaking in the hot spring, you can go to the outdoor lounge to have tea and popsicles. The lounge area is also very spacious and comfortable.

The location is still very good, the room is too small... The space planning is very compact and there is everything that should be there. The price is really cheap, so the overall price is very high, it is a good choice for us to stay for one night. The scenery of Kumano Ancient Road is really good

Summary: 1. Airport transfer to Shirahama needs to be booked in advance via email. 2. The hotel is excellent and newly renovated. The hot springs are fantastic. 3. Transportation is inconvenient, but there's a shuttle service to Shirarahama Beach. 4. It's about a 15-20 minute walk downhill to a convenience store. The distance isn't actually that far.

GGuest UserThe hotel has a fantastic location, right on the main street, just a 2-minute walk from the JR station, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining. The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the cleanliness is acceptable. The receptionist, although an older woman, provided very detailed information, and the hotel offers a comprehensive tourist map and bus timetable.
