We checked in late and receptionist was very efficency + friendly.I had rang earlier in the day to say we would be arriving later.Reception asked what time as food finished being served at 9pm.I was happy to know this + we stopped on route as our arrival time was due to be 9 30.We had a lovely spacious room and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar
Only small quip: barman didn't let the Guinness settle before top up.Told me ”that will be grand in a few minutes” To me that indicates he knew he should wait.Tasted lovely!
Did ask what type of tonic I would like for gin which I was happy about
The room was lovely but the breakfast could have been better and there was no hot water when I took a shower around 11AM…..could’ve been that everyone else already used the hot water?
The hotel is close to the school, but it is a little far away from the city center. It is not affected by self-driving. The rooms are given lower floors and there is no view.
We arrived soon after check-in was available & didn't have to wait long & our room was available straight away. We were able to park the bike behind the gates/building, out of sight, which is a bonus for us.
The room was clean and spacious, the bed huge & comfy. The show was not as powerful as we hoped, but breakfast made up for it.
Excellent location for visiting Carlingford and the surrounding area. Halfway to the north from Dublin. We appreciated the hospitality of the family-run B&B and the cleanliness and care given to the facility as well as the grounds around it. We arrived a bit late and they were very accommodating. Kettle in room, so we made tea and enjoyed the sunset and the sweet cat on the patio. Breakfast was wonderful, made to order. We chose this location over the larger hotels nearby and in town so that we could enjoy a more serene stay and will stay again when passing through or visiting the area. Everything is nearby, including Carlingford, a Sky Park, and a wonderful restaurant, Fitzpatrick's, with amazing food. This would be a nice getaway for families as well as for couples or friends.

Great
Service was excellent - from Grace who was so helpful at reception to Shane, who did his best to assist us with the laptop/tv connection along with the duty manager - all the staff were friendly, very helpful and obviously well trained in good customer care. Our bedrooms were in the old part of the house - warm and roomy with beautiful views over the hotel frontage. I took off 1 star as there seemed to be a block on connecting our laptop to the tv, which wasn't a smart one. I understand the newer wing of the hotel does have more up-to-date tvs though. Also I thought the changing rooms for the swimming pool could have included some cubicles as there were only 2 family changing rooms and the rest was open. Grounds are lovely and the 10 min. walk to the Proleek dolmen is well worth it as the scenery is stunning. Also the walled garden was interesting and would be a real asset if it could be restored. Would definitely like to return.
