We had a very good overall experience at this onsen hotel. The atmosphere was relaxing, and we enjoyed our stay very much. We especially appreciated having an English-speaking staff member available — it made communication much easier and helped us feel more comfortable during our visit.

Very nice Japanese style room overlooking the river and the tree filled riverbank hill. It was very private. Breakfast and dinner was served at the table and was excellent. Much variety of fish, chicken, pork, tofu, and vegetables. The overall atmosphere was very elegant and relaxed. The ryokan is located right on one of the bus stops for easy access from the train station. It is a short 10 minute walk to the main area of town. There are several onsen pools. Some rotate between men and women at different hours. Very clean with good amenities. Overall a very memorable stay.

We stayed 1 night at Kusatsu Onsen hotel village. It's indeed a resort which offers many activities (table tennis, bowling, game arcade etc.) and a separate spa center with swimming pool and sauna. We didn't bother to step out the hotel until we had to leave Kusatsu. The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious too. There is shampoo and bathing tools for babies in the ladies bath. I believe it's suitable for family with young children.

A relax and nice view in Kusatsu. The hotel is located a bit far from bus terminal. However, there is a free shuttle bus service which connected with bus service. I strongly encourage the private onsen package where we can taste three different type of onsen in the hotel. My platinum ring changed colour, may be due to the acidity of onsen water😂. The dinner and breakfast inspired and it is good for family trip with a number of accessible service for elderly with physically limitations.

Dormy Inn Maebashi is a fantastic place to stay, offering comfort, convenience, and excellent amenities. The hotel is well-maintained, with clean and cozy rooms that provide a relaxing atmosphere. One of the highlights is the onsen, which is perfect for unwinding after a long day. The complimentary nighttime ramen is a nice touch, adding to the overall experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. With its great location near the station, Dormy Inn Maebashi is a top choice for both business and leisure travelers. Highly recommended!

We arrived early (about 11:00) at the ryokan and were met by a very helpful young lady receptionist who spoke good English. She accepted our luggage, arranged a ground floor room for us (my wife has difficulty climbing stairs) and recommended us where to eat and what to do. The room was clean and sizeable. The bed was comfortable. The ryokan provided a simple buffet breakfast (much to our surprise and delight).  It is located just a short distance from the Yubatake and is very convenient.  Overall, we are very happy with the ryokan.

We stayed here during a two-day ski trip. I found this inn very appealing, especially since I had never seen it on social media. There are only a few rooms, so it was quiet and very comfortable. We were worried about which one to choose, but we stayed at ”Kiri,” which has an open-air bath in the room, and it was better than we expected, so we took a bath five times (lol). We'll definitely come back here again! We've been saying that ever since we got back. However, we didn't get a plan that included dinner, so we were hoping to eat at a nearby restaurant, but all the restaurants closed early, so we were left without food, which was a bit of a downside^^; Next time we stay, we'll make sure to make a reservation for meals!! The inn itself was really nice and the best. Thank you for your hospitality.

Rooms were small and tight for a couple. Location was great with the rail station just next door. Eateries were easy to find and there is a mall. Super convenient if you need anything. Overall we had a great stay

The facilities were very clean as they had just been renovated. The buffet had a great variety, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious! The heating in the room was apparently faulty, but I suspect the entire facility might have had issues, as even with the provided heater, some areas were very cold. At dinner, we were seated near the entrance, and it was so incredibly cold that many of the dishes were already cool, which was a real shame. When I went to the onsen in the morning, the changing room was so cold it felt like being outside. I warmed up in the hot spring, but then got cold again in the changing room. Also, there was a lot of hair on the floor near the dryers in the changing room, which was quite unpleasant. I used the onsen three times but never saw any staff cleaning it. There were hair straighteners in addition to dryers, but there were no outlets to plug in my own, which was also disappointing. I hope these issues can be improved.

The hotel is good, the rooms are good, but I booked a king bed, the bed is too big, it is not necessary, and the rest of the room is crowded. The parking lot costs 300 yen, not free. The breakfast is average. If it is an experience and the price is not expensive, you can try it. I arrived after ten o'clock at night, but the hotel was easy to find, because there are few high-rise buildings in this city, so I can see the neon lights of the hotel from a long distance.

MmathemathusMy stay at Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu was excellent. The onsen was very clean and quite spacious, making it a relaxing experience. The hotel also has a convenient shortcut that leads directly to the Yubatake pedestrian area, which is a big plus. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes — plenty of options and all very enjoyable. The service was great, and the room was comfortable to sleep in. The only downside is that there were a bit too few power outlets in the room, but it wasn’t a major problem. Overall, a fantastic stay and highly recommended for anyone visiting Kusatsu.

BBenjaminsim87Omori has a rich history as a Ryokan. The interior is homely and vintage! Like it’s frozen in time in the 1980s. The lounge has a panoramic view of Mount Akagi and several other mountain ranges. you can sip sake or wine from paid dispensers while you find your zen. The Level 8 outdoor bath is awesome and spacious. Views are awesome and the air is refreshing. Omori is right next to the Ikaho bus station as well as the Ikaho Ropeway. Just a 5mins walk to the stone steps as well. Even though the nearest Kombini (Famimart) is a 15 minute walk away, they have their own minimart. Breakfast was well crafted with hand-picked local Gunma produce. Awesome!!!

GGuest UserThe hotel was clean, the breakfast was abundant, and the service was warm and attentive. The location is convenient, very close to the central station, and nearby supermarkets like 7-Eleven are very handy. I recommend staying here.

GGuest UserThe location is great, right in front of the Yubatake. The room is quite old, so the toilet, bath, and sink are small, but the steak and tempura for dinner were delicious. I didn't know there was a last shuttle bus from the parking lot, so I arrived after the last one had left, but they arranged an extra bus and got me to the hotel safely. Next time, I'd like to arrive a little earlier and explore Kusatsu.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic! There's a souvenir shop right downstairs, and the main street is just outside. The room was comfortable and clean, and the view was absolutely stunning. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of delicious dishes. But the highlight has to be the hot springs – the area is huge, and I highly recommend the outdoor bath. I absolutely recommend this place and would love to stay here again if I get the chance!

GGuest UserGenerally the hotel has been renovated so it has clean and new facilities. However, some items like the TV is dated. It had a large carpark (free) if you are driving. The onsen is clean and modern. You can make use of their sister hotel’s onsen just next door. Free coffee and pastries provided in the afternoon. The hotel also provide Yukata and Japanese style slipper for guest. It would be better if they provided a basket instead of plastic bag for guest to carry their belongings around when going for bath.

GGuest UserThis was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.

GGuest UserThe staff was very good. I am very satisfied that I can enjoy the food and eat various dishes little by little. I didn't get tired of watching the murals in the bath. The staff was very happy to serve and it was a fun trip. There are few inns that I want to use again, but Tatsumi Kan wanted to use it again! Thank you.

PPY WONG The TravellerThe surroundings are exceptionally quiet, making it ideal for relaxation or even a bit of meditation. It may not be the best choice for families with children, as there are very limited amenities catered for them. Service, however, was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond — when my rental car had a brake light issue, they noticed it before I did, stepped in to assist, contacted the rental company, and ensured it was resolved the very next morning. That level of attentiveness is rare. Location-wise, it is quite remote. There’s little within walking distance, so getting around or finding food requires some planning. But if you’re here for peace and an onsen experience, that quiet isolation becomes part of the appeal. A memorable stay overall, especially for those seeking calm, comfort, and genuine hospitality.
