2026 Luoyang Shendu Shangyuan Lantern Festival | sui tang luo yang cheng yi zhi
Celebration
The Flying Horse and Flying Swallow welcome the New Year, the Dragon Soars into a Prosperous Era and Embarks on a New Journey. As we bid farewell to the old year of Jia Chen and welcome the new year of Bing Wu, coinciding with the start of the "15th Five-Year Plan," the clarion call for a new journey has sounded. The Luoyang Municipal Party Committee and Government, adhering to the strategy of integrating culture, tourism, and creative industries, have meticulously planned and hosted the "Luoyang Lantern Festival," themed "Ancient Capital, New Charm: Luoyang's New Year." The festival connects two main themes: "Celebrating the New Year in the Palace" and "Celebrating the New Year in the Streets," creating a layout of "One City, One Lantern, One Theme, Three Scenes," allowing the ancient capital to once again witness the magnificent scene of "Moonlight and Lanterns Filling the Capital."
This year's lantern festival will be held from February 10th to March 4th during the Spring Festival. The three core venues—Wangcheng Park, the Sui and Tang Dynasty City Ruins Botanical Garden, and Jiuzhouchi Scenic Area—each possess unique charm, collectively painting a breathtaking picture of "A Step Through a Thousand Years, Lanterns Illuminating the City," providing citizens and tourists with a sense of ritual and happiness throughout the Spring Festival!
