"Good, good, good, good, good. Good location. Good service. Convenient. It's just that the water is a bit small, but everything else is good. There's a coffee bar, a bar, and a restaurant downstairs where you can eat, which is very convenient."

"I had booked a last minute trip to Chicago's Virgin Hotel to spend some time with my daughters. From the first minute we walked in the service was impeccable. This continued throughout our stay everytime we walked in or out of the hotel (many times). The location was perfect to shops, restaurants, Riverwalk, beautiful architecture, and many other visual attractions. The only downfall to our visit was it was Covid season and many restrictions to places we could go to watch the football game and/or eat as the restaurants were all closed in the hotel. That was a safety issue for the guests so it was appreciated they weren't open. The one thing I'd recommend is for them to have a list of what was open nearby and what was offered (dine-in, delivery, take out, etc.). We were able to find places on our own, but it would have saved us the time from searching/calling around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!"

"I am a guest of your's. I am very happy here. I sing highly of your service. First of all, the hotel is so beautiful. It looks like a garden. I enjoy it. Then, foods are delicious and some of them are amazing. Most important reason is that the bed is so big and soft that I don't want to get up every morning. It's wonderful here. I can't believe it that I must leave. I want to live here again if I come to this city again.Thank you.Sincerely yours a guest."

"I was in this hotel for a conference so my need is quite minimal. Generally speaking the hotel is in a great location that is easily accessible. The room itself is fairly simple , I think for this price though the service should be a little better. My room has couple of occasion that the tea and coffee wasn’t top up after cleaning and soap as well. The bathtub is a bit stained but it is cleaned. Wifi - there were multiple times that it was a bit slow . If I have to rank based on the price as well I would say above average"

Chicago Accommodation Guide & City Info

Known as the “Windy City” for its windy coastal climate, Chicago is a metropolis of architectural quirks and cultural diversity. Families and travelers of all kinds can find ideal accommodations in this diverse yet friendly city. From the stunning shores of Lake Michigan to the famous Willis Tower Sky Deck, Chicago, with its convenient location and efficient public transportation system, is the ideal place to begin your Midwestern exploration. Whether travelers are looking for a downtown luxury hotel in Millennium Park or a boutique hotel near historic Wicker Park, Chicago offers comfort and convenience for all types of travelers.

To Chicago and the Surrounding Areas

Midway International Airport (MDW) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) are the city's two primary airports, providing a wide range of domestic and international flights that link Chicago to locations across the globe.

Metra and Amtrak trains connect Chicago to suburban and regional locations via Union Station, and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers effective citywide access through its trains and buses. Midway Airport is served by the Orange Line, and O'Hare is directly accessible via the CTA Blue Line.

In downtown neighborhoods like The Loop and Magnificent Mile, the majority of hotels offer easy access to both airports and handy shuttle services. When it comes to city tours and transit arrangements, boutique hotels and lodgings along the Chicago River or close to Millennium Park frequently help visitors.

GGuest UserThe hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!

SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

DDanson17I've never had such an experience before. In my whole life I barely give 2 stars feedback to property, honestly I just wanna give 1 star feedback but the residents are friendly and nice that why I add one more star for them. The location is really convenient, room setting is super clean and organization. However, the black old lady who works at front desk is really mean and rude, she tried to bully me when I was checking in. Her service attitude likes she's guest I'm staff, and I owed her money, too. After check in my mood is really down, so I can't get any reason is why I pay almost $400 a night come here to get treatment like that. If you come to check Chicago I won't recommend this hotel for, or if you like the hotel but don't come to check in around 11am-1pm on Saturday!

YYeungStayed 4D3N Pros 1. As a Chicago marathon runner, the location outweighs all the cons. The hotel is just opposite to the starting and end points of marathon route 2. Offer late check out for marathon runner to 2pm 3. Close to some famous tourist spots such as cloud gate (the bean), route66 starting point, ..etc 4. Complimentary bottle water, the only hotel we were staying in USA Offered this service 5. 10 mins walk to nearby subway station Cons 1. Aged, some in-room facilities even were loosen and not fixed tightly, for example water tap 2. Nearby not much eateries to choose 3. I have fully paid the room rate online before arrival, but the hotel still charged me the same amount while we were checking in, I made an enquiry to the hotel and they replied it was due to their computer error, crazy and nothing to say!

GGuest UserThere is a bus to the airport. The service is good. I checked in early. Later, the plane arrived at 6:00, and the front desk delayed check-out until 3:00. The service is heart-warming, and it is also a good choice for airport transit

GGuest UserMy Honest Experience After Reading Negative Reviews I was initially quite hesitant to check into this hotel after reading a number of detailed and lengthy negative reviews, especially those highlighting hidden fees and cleanliness issues. However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website. One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
