Level One Kayak Skills Award from Canoeing Ireland plus half 2024 Annual Kilcullen Canoe Club Membership in September Wednesday 11th September 11/09/2024, 7-9.30pm, Kilcullen Canoe ClubhouseFriday 13th September 13/09/2024, 7-9.30pm, Kilcullen Canoe ClubhouseAttendance is mandatory on both evenings. The charge covers €30 for the beginners course , half the €170 for the adult club membership for the 2024 year plus €30 Canoeing Ireland Membership fee. Kayak, helmet and PFD will be provided. Please wear hard sole shoes you are happy to get wet, such as old runners. Please wear warm old clothes ensuring there is no cotton in the fabric. A wetsuit would be ideal if you have one. This course will be based in the KCC Clubhouse only and is designed to get you your Canoeing Ireland Level 1 Kayak Skills Award. With this award, the below syllabus will be covered over the two evenings. A family by club definition is two senior individuals and two junior members living in the same abode. Kayak, helmet, PFD and buoyancy aid will be provided. If you love singing and can read music come and sing Mendelssohn's much loved oratorio 'Elijah' for a day. Music scores will be provided. The workshop will be led by the Musical Director of Brecon Singers Rob Evans (ex consort singer working with The King's Consort, The Sixteen, The Cardinals Musick and The Gabrieli Consort). Participants are invited to take part in the concert at Brecon Cathedral on Thursday, July 17th forming our Festival Chorus. Indulge yourself with this wonderful choral experience singing with Brecon Singers and members of other choirs. Attendance at the Thursday concert is not mandatory for the workshop. Thomas. • Featuring new commissions inspired by Thomas’ poetry, including works by celebrated Welsh composer Geraint Lewis and rising talent Carwyn Wholmsley, a Brecon resident. • Part of the 2025 Brecon Choir Festival theme, R.S. Thomas: Music, Man, Machine, this unique performance blends music, poetry, and reflection in the stunning Christ College Chapel. The 12.15pm start time includes a pre-concert discussion in The Neuadd at Christ College exploring what R.S. Thomas’ poetry offers for composers today, and the role of choral music making in an increasingly ‘Machine' driven age. Hear from University of Bangor academics Tony Brown (Director of the R.S.
