The Tarumi Fireworks Festival 2026, the largest summer event, was held in Tarumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Approximately 5,000 underwater and rapid-fire fireworks illuminated the city's night sky. The highlight of the event was a spectacular rapid-fire fireworks finale, combining unique underwater and musical fireworks. Food stalls and trucks were also set up throughout the day, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious food while watching the fireworks.

At the Opening Summer Festival held in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, local residents performed unique tropical Ibusuki dances and hula dances against the backdrop of the majestic Kaimon Mountain. Various food stalls surrounded the venue, offering entertainment for people of all ages. The festival concluded with a grand fireworks display of approximately 1,100 fireworks, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the spectacular sound of the fireworks echoing over Kaimon Mountain. The fireworks display runs from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

This fireworks display was held in Sendai, Satsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Since its inception in 1959, it has become a traditional summer event in the region. The Kinko Bay Fireworks Festival is the largest fireworks festival in Kagoshima, with more than 15,000 fireworks, and the Kyushu 2-foot-tama fireworks. The background music is Japanese classical music and world-famous piano music. Along with the fireworks festival, there are also fun temple fairs, interesting recreational projects, and many seasonal goods and snacks. This is Shibushi City's largest summer event, held at the Shibushi Port ferry terminal in Kagoshima Prefecture, with the theme "The Sea." Three companies launched approximately 10,000 fireworks, including large-scale fireworks, musical fireworks, and underwater fireworks, creating a truly spectacular display. You can enjoy the fireworks while soaking up the summer atmosphere. In addition to the fireworks display, various stage activities were held on the day, including band performances and dance performances. Every year, the city of Satsumasendai hosts a massive tug-of-war competition, with as many as 3,000 participants using ropes up to 365 meters long and weighing over seven tons. This 420-year-old competition draws spectators from all over Japan and even other parts of Asia, and is considered one of the oldest and largest in Japan.
