About the Band - DUDEMANBRO Dudemanbro , a reggae rock band hailing from Narragansett Rhode Island. The band released its 1st EP album called "Shifting Skies" in 2020. In 2023, they released a full-length album called "Beach Bum In Rhode Island" and most recently released a live album called "Live from the Rhode". The band has performed at major events, including the 300th Trifecta Festival in South Kingstown RI, the Reggae Jam in Blackstone, MA, and has opened for The Wailers several times at the Greenwich Odeum in East Greenwich, Slightly Stoopid in Boston and many more international touring reggae bands. Dudemanbro was awarded Motif “Favorite Reggae Act” 2023 & 2024 and received RI Monthly Statewide "Best Local Band" in 2020. About the Suppot - Professor Roots Professor Roots is a Providence-based reggae band specializing in ska, rocksteady, and reggae. We love to play authentic Jamaican music! We draw our inspiration from artists including John Holt, Ken Boothe, Max Romeo, Dandy Livingstone, Toots & The Maytals, Bob Andy, Stephen Marley, The Skatalites, and the list goes on. We have just recently begun to write original songs as well. Professor Roots formed in 2014 as a new collaboration when Fred (harmonica) and Geoff (keys), longtime reggae partners in The Psycads, were fortunate to connect with Krys (The Agents, Soulshot) on drums and welcome back Peter as lead vocalist (The Gnomes, The Winehouse Project, The Psycads). In the fall of 2022 Professor Roots welcomed several new members: long time collaborator Rob Liguori (Soulshot, The Psycads) on tenor and alto saxophones; Peter Fayan (The Agents) on bass guitar; Jon Letourneau on lead guitar; as well as formally welcoming Frank Moniz (The Agents, Soulshot) on tenor saxophone, who has played with us on and off from the start! May's theme is Eco Engineers. Come walk, wonder, and grow with us. We are teaming up with our friends from WildRoots once a month for Wednesday Wonder Walks , a guided family hiking series curated to spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of nature. Our partnership blends playful discovery with embedded teaching, helping children build knowledge naturally as they explore. By connecting families to the land and encouraging stewardship, we hope to inspire the next generation to care for—and protect—the wild places around them. Each session invites children and their families to slow down, look closely, and discover the magic of the natural world together. Every month features a new theme and a new Westerly Land Trust property, giving young explorers the chance to get to know their local environment in a meaningful and memorable way. May's theme is Eco Engineers and will be held at Mastuxet Brook Greenway South (we will meet at Rotary Park, trail is behind the playground). Our adventure will begin with a hike to observe how water flows, ripples, and gathers to identify the best spots a beaver might choose for building a dam. Students will then have the opportunity to step into waders and climb into the water to construct their own mini dams using sticks, stones, mud, and other natural materials. Through hands-on problem-solving and playful experimentation, we will discover how animals use design to shape their habitats and why beavers are such incredible ecosystem engineers. Programs are NO COST thanks to generous community support Registration is required for all participants An adult must accompany their child/children during program. This is a great way to adventure together! Parking is available on sight.
