Come experience the Maine Coast in May and enjoy the beauty of springtime in Maine as you run along the coast in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Biddeford Pool.The Maine Coast Marathon began in 1980 as the Nike Maine Coast Marathon.The race was revived in 2013 after taking 26 years off.The Maine Coast Marathon & Half is a two-day running event in which participants can run either or both races — organizers offer the “Maine Coast 39.3 Challenge,” which means you’ll run the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday.The Shipyard Maine Coast Marathonis rich with history and we would love to have you become a part of it. It is a gorgeous point-to-point course traveling from Kennebunk High School to Sokokis Hall at the University of New England in Biddeford. It travels alongside breathtaking water views for at least five miles in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Goose Rocks Beach and Fortunes Rocks Beach. From the elegant 19th century Sea Captain’s homes of Kennebunk during the second mile to crashing surf at Fortunes Rocks Beach in Biddeford during the 23rd mile, this course will enchant you with beauty.The Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon benefits Southern Maine Health Care’s Center for Breast Care.
