GGuest UserIf you are planning to stay at Mercure Iguazu Hotel Iru, do yourself a favor: read their pre-arrival emails for the entertainment value, but never actually book their ”exclusive” private car service. Unless, of course, you’ve had a few too many glasses of Malbec and feel like donating your money to a creative writing project.
Here’s why the hotel’s transport service is a ”must-avoid”:
The front desk will happily quote you a price that is roughly 130% of the market rate (think 60,000 Pesos when the standard round-trip to the National Park is 40,000). They’ll justify this with flowery language about it being a ”private service” and the costs of ”empty legs.”
That ”luxury” private car? It’s just a slightly cleaner-than-average van or a 7-seater SUV. If that’s worth a 50% markup to you, you’ll love it I arranged a pickup for 2:00 PM. I even messaged the driver at 1:50 PM to confirm I’d be ready by 2:10 PM. In a stunning display of ”Mercure time,” the driver finally graced me with his presence at 2:45 PM. I suppose I should thank God he wasn't over an hour late, but sitting at the park entrance for 35 minutes while paying ”premium” rates really added that extra sparkle to my trip.
The hotel is fine, but their transport service is a blatant scam wrapped in a ”private car” label. Save your money, call a local taxi or use a ride-hailing app, and spend that 20,000 Peso difference on literally anything else. You’ll get to the park faster and with much less resentment.

SshawndaikiCame over after a terrible experience at Rainforest and it was like heaven on earth.
The hotel is conveniently located with a bus stop 5 min walk outside that takes you to the airport and the waterfalls at hourly frequency. There is also a taxi operator right across the hotel.
The hotel staff immediately walked out to assist with our luggage upon our arrival and was extremely hospitable. A complimentary 25 min visit to the sauna was included, gimmicky but it was a nice touch.
The room was large, spacious and clean. AC was reliable as was the hot water and water pressure. Breakfast was basic but there was a large spread.
We had an enjoyable experience.

麦麦We arrived at night according to the navigation guidelines. All the way to the black light, I thought I went to the wilderness. The hotel is very wonderful. The room can only accommodate 2 people. The children over 3 years old will have to pay 60 yuan for the room. The half-day price is almost noisy and the final price is 40 dollars. The room decoration design is very simple, almost no decoration. The toilet door is facing the bed, the room on the first floor is simpler, two small beds of one meter wide, no carpet. In China, it is completely incompatible with the five-star standard.

GGuest UserModern style of hotel with bare concrete ceilings etc.and very close to lots of bars and restaurants.. Room was comfortable and plenty hot water at the shower. Early breakfast at 6.30 can be busy and chaotic as everyone going on trips. Better to go an hour later if possible. Nice rooftop pool area. We felt it was excellent value.

AAnonymous UserMaybe it's just a coincidence, but time and again, the international hotels we book on Trip.com put us in corner rooms! The view outside Room 264, which was a replacement room, is shown in picture 1. The original room, 268, was even more tucked into a corner, and there were people doing maintenance in the hallway right outside the door (I sent pictures to Trip.com customer service). The reason we switched rooms wasn't even because the window was obstructed, but because there was no internet. On our two-month self-guided tour of South America, no internet means we can't plan our subsequent itinerary. Throughout this process, Trip.com's customer service staff stayed in touch and were faultless. However, the hotel should really reflect on why they consistently give us bad rooms. This is a large hotel with many rooms, so the front desk surely knows which rooms have poor Wi-Fi.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is located inside the Iguaçu National Park, offering a beautiful environment and incredibly convenient access to the Iguaçu Falls. A big plus is that you only need to purchase the park entrance ticket once for your entire stay. The hotel directly faces the falls, so you get breathtaking panoramic views during every meal. The staff are all warm and friendly, and they were very helpful with any requests we had. The food at the restaurant was delicious, although I wish there were more vegetable options. Also, the room was a bit on the smaller side, but everything else was fine.

1. При заезде на 2 человек была только одна бесплатная бутылка воды 0.5. На второй день и ее не положили. При такой цене отеля и отсутствия магазинов в шаговой доступности - очень странный подход.
2. Не было геля для душа. Шампунь, кондиционер, даже лосьон для тела были, а геля - нет. Тоже очень странно.

SSimone 夏琳The location is a bit out of the way, but most restaurants are within a 15-minute walk. The view from the room was very good!
Unfortunately, outside of peak season, there were no cushions for the sun loungers by the pool or towels.
The staff was friendly, but only a few spoke English.
All in all, though, it was good value for money.
