We stayed at the Ramside to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom had both a large bath and walk-in shower. We ate in the Rib Room Restaurant where the service of John and his team was excellent and the food of the highest quality.

The size of the room is specious with sufficient space for storing luggage, and the floor is very clean and comfortable to walk on with bare feet, so feel free to leave your shoe by the door. As for the bed, it is very large and comfortable, providing you the high quality of sleeping without any problems. In the bathroom, it is not only very elegant and clean, but also provides unlimited hot water with satisfying water pressure from two types of shower heads. Moreover, there is a mini fridge placed in the lower closet near the wardrobe, feel free to drink the two bottles of spring water prepared by the host or store your own drinks or unfinished meals. In addition, there is a small safe above the fridge for depositing your valuables. In terms of the amenities on the ground floor, there is a high-end restaurant serving traditional English breakfast (e.g. egg benedict) in the morning, and the taste is fine. However, I am not a big fan of their lunch or dinner when you can have better options in nearby restaurants. Furthermore, there is a small bar just outside the restaurant. The Gym, coffee room and reception are at the LG level, and you will receive a 10% discount in the coffee room after check-in. The location is very close to the city center, train station and several main attractions such as the cathedral and castle. Overall, I enjoy my two-day stay very much, the price of the hotel is very cost-effective in terms of the four-star standards, providing an unforgettable experience for both tourists and business travelers.

Was not my first choice but booked this hotel for my graduation at Durham University since all other hotels are fully booked. The hotel is relatively old but clean and has all the amenities needed (including an iron and the ironing board). Nice and friendly staff at the reception, who kindly assisted with the printing of some documents. Good location because it is within walking distance from the Durham Cathedral and the campus

Booked two rooms for a family trip at one time. The hotel is in a very good location, near the city center, and it is very convenient to eat and shop around. Although the room is not particularly large, it is very clean and tidy, and the layout is reasonable. The bed is very comfortable, the pillows and quilts are very soft, and the sleep is very solid. The bathroom is very clean, the water pressure is just right, and the bathing experience is very good. The breakfast is very rich, with hot and cold food, a variety of varieties, and the taste is also very good, especially the fried eggs and sausages, which are very satisfying. The staff has a very good attitude, the service is meticulous and thoughtful, and it makes people feel very warm. The check-in and check-out process is very smooth and there is no trouble. Overall, this hotel is worth the money, especially for short stays or business trips, and I will come again next time if I have the opportunity.

The hotrl is beautiful and the workers are nice, but the sheets and bed covers are not quite clean.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good and we were able to take our dog for a small additional fee. We will return.

Very nice and historical hotel, quite a bit of a walk to get to our room though. Also had issues with the stairs in the hallways, quite inconvenient to get our bags to the room

A great stay. Staff were lovely and super helpful. A problem with my room meant i had to switch, but staff addressed this as soon as possible. Pool was an added bonus as were the sauna and steam room. Will def stay there again when visiting Durham.

Gorgeous hotel in a good location for exploring the surrounding area. Delicious cooked to order breakfast and the restaurant for dinner was superb. Room was comfy and warm would happily stay again

Location was perfect for our needs, near to beautiful Yarm! The amenities were good and a dip in the pool was perfect after a hot day! Overall cleanliness was good, just needed a few touch up here and there, tiles missing in spa area a Nd our bathroom looked tired! Disappointed that there was no compensation for broken key card machine and we found this unnerving as it felt very ‘big brother’ being tracked on our every move! A drink at dinner, complimentary breakfasts or bar meal would have been a nice gesture!
