The location is excellent! It's just a few bus stops from the train station, or a short taxi ride away, and it's not far from the city center. As soon as you enter, you can feel the backpacker vibe. The first floor is a common area with a lounge for relaxing on sofas and watching TV, and an entertainment area with a pool table. After checking in, the staff gives you sheets, slippers, and even a bottle of water (so thoughtful!). I was amazed when I entered the room – it's the largest hostel room I've ever stayed in, with a private bathroom and lockers for your belongings. On the third floor, you can hang clothes and even sit on the balcony to enjoy the breeze. I have to mention the group tours; the hostel organizes daily trips to Sayram Lake and Kuerdening Grassland. Their tour leaders are incredibly well-rounded (they know all the best places to eat, play, take photos, fly drones, drive, play instruments, and provide emotional support). Yining is a place you'll want to visit again, and Backpacker's Decade is definitely the place to stay when you're there. For backpackers, it's the absolute best choice for a trip to Yining!

This hostel is an amazing place in Ili. Full of sweet people, really good coffee, a kitchen to cook and a cosy reading room bathed in light.
Great location, quiet but close to many restaurants and a main street.
Volonteers are really friendly. They are helpful to start well your trip in China, and organized some tours in beautiful places around,
Beds are wides, with curtains, light, shelf and power outlet. There is closet for each.
This hostel is really clean and comfy, I certainly come back here for my next stay in Ili 🌞

This hostel has a strict no-smoking policy throughout, so the indoor air is fresh and the environment is clean and comfortable, completely free from any smoke smell. The rooms and common areas are cleaned daily by the staff. The owner and guests are incredibly friendly, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone gets along well. There are daily activities like learning Uyghur and dancing, and the everyday interactions are heartwarming. The common areas are neat and cozy, and the facilities are comprehensive. It offers excellent value for money, provides a great sense of security, and is suitable for both solo travelers and groups. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit. Highly recommended!

It's great for a hostel, good design, seem like Japanese style, clean and tidy. I can't expect more about amenity for a hostel. It's also decorated for trekking guy and the host really good at this point. He spent 1 hour to help me make a plan for my coming trip.

The best hostel in the city, i did 2 hostel in this city and this one is by far the best. The room is so nice with Xinjiang carpet i love it so much. The yard is big with everything as washing machine or kitchen, and a place for rest with a cute cat and a mulberry tree with free natural mulberry. The location is so nice close to the best place in Yining. All the girls at the reception are so nice and welcoming with a very good english. When i will comeback in the city i will book again this place without hesitation. I hope to see foreigners there in the future.

Super nice hostel in the old city with a peaceful vibe. The rooms are excellent value for money, clean and well equipped. I had the best night's sleep I had in ages. The hostel is built around a courtyard with mature trees in the centre which keeps it cool in the day. There is a well equipped kitchen, free laundry and the atmosphere is friendly. If you are cycling or on a motorbike you can store these safely in the courtyard.

Had a fantastic experience! Being an all-female hostel, it was so much more comfortable and relaxed for us to chat. The owner was also lovely to talk to, and it really felt like a warm and cozy home away from home with a great sense of community. I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in Kashgar. A big plus is that it's an all-female hostel, so no unpleasant cigarette smells!
Nice quiet hostel where it is easy to relax. The bed is comfy, no gas to cook but there is hot water a microwave and a few other appliances you can use. It's a bit away from the ancient city but there are plenty of other shopping streets nearby. I left my bike outside the door because it's a very safe area. There were some very friendly people in the hostel who helped me navigate the Chinese way of doing things. It's really good value staying here, would recommend. Message them if you have difficult finding the place.
This hotel really exceeded expectations and must give a big praise!
I felt full of sincerity from the beginning of the door. The front desk lady smiled very kindly. The check-in speed was super fast. She also took the initiative to introduce the hotel's facilities and the surrounding convenient information, which made people feel very warm at once.
The room was even more pleasant. As soon as I opened the door, I smelled a faint fragrance and there was no smell at all. The sheets and quilts were clean as new, and they felt very comfortable. The pillows were moderately soft and hard. I didn't want to get up after sleeping for one night. The bathroom was spotless, the hot water was out in seconds, the water pressure was just right, and the toiletries were all brand goods, so you can rest assured.
There is no need to pick the facilities, air conditioning, cooling and heating

The location is great. The shower and toilet at 2nd floor need to be clean regularly. Also it helps to put curtains at both the entrance/exit because when you take shower, the wind/ cold air really send shivers down your spine. Please please fix the door at 209, 211. When you want to close the door from the outside, you have to pull to shut it and the bang can wake up the whole neighborhood.

Very Good
EEdmund T Y LeeWe are a couple from Singapore. After traveling through Northwest China for more than four weeks and staying in several hotels, we found our experience at Return Inn, Kashgar, to be the best—it left the most positive impression in its price range. The owner does not speak English, but we could communicate via a translation device. His attitude was very sincere and warm, making us feel like we were meeting an old friend. The hotel is located very close to the ancient city. Although the facilities are basic, it has hot water, WiFi, and is very clean and tidy. There is no elevator, but the owner helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport.
The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you.
Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift.
(Check the other reviews here, for a picture of the gate/door to the building)
The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful.
They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software.
Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact.
(This is a CN Govt requirement)
The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views.
There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one.
The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night.
The beds are OK.
There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too!
The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located,
except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms.
Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.

GGuest UserIt was my second time staying here, the place is beautiful and I met so many nice girls who I ended up hanging out with while I was in Yining. The Kazanqi area around the hostel is lovely, walking distance from great restaurants and shops. I was able to put things I the fridge and freezer and use the kitchen at the hostel. The courtyard and balcony are such nice places to sit and do work or eat there was also a puppy which was so cute!! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cute decor and the toilet/shower room in the room is modern and clean. I definitely recommend!

Excellent
GGuest UserElla / Shen, the owner is a very nice person and her DIY wine project is cool. The male dorm was nice and clean, the bunks had a good curtain and I was lucky with the people staying there, people were respectful with the sleeping times etc. and I think the instructions by the hostel helped with this. The instructions were definitely a good thing to have but they could be also developed more with the guest’s needs in mind, I would think how to make the things as accessible as possible and try to think outside of the box, try to see ot with the eyes of a foreigner that most likely struggles a lot with the local character system and finding their way around - very basic things. The client service is key here. Thank you for the stay, I wish all the best for the future.

was previously a hotel converted into an international youth hostel. We booked a twin-bed room for one night. There is a Uyghur girl who spoke impecable Mandarin with a tad bit of Beijing ascent at the front desk when we arrived. The check-in was speedy. The room was spacious and clean so were the bedding (no foul smell). The uniqueness about this hostel is, it does not provide bath towels and toilet papers. Instead, guests are given one-use towels and a pack of tissue papers which we double up as toilet papers. Initially, I thought the one-use towels (place on a try in the room) were bathing soap because they were in compressed form so I went to ask the Uyghur girl for towls and she told me those are actually compressed one-use towels.
There are restaurants and minimarts next to the hostel and a night food street nearby (approx 200-300m by foot). No a bad choice if you need a layover or a couple of days stay to explore Kuqa.
Mmurmur~I had set my eyes on the courtyard early on and placed reservations for several nights. However, due to schedule issues, I was only able to stay for one night, but I still had some very good memories with my family. The boss is very nice. We contacted each other via WeChat in advance. Just because he heard that I liked Fig Courtyard, he locked the room for us directly and upgraded it from the Moroccan-style family suite to the pavilion. There is a big bed and the sofa can also be turned into a small bed of 1.2 meters, which is just right for a family of four. The boss was a warm-hearted girl who obviously treated the guests as friends: ”It would be more comfortable for the whole family to drink tea together in the pavilion.” She asked the Uyghur girl to bring black tea and a large basket of fruit. Drinking tea together, the whole family fell asleep comfortably in the pavilion. The time and the world outside no longer mattered.
