We decided to spend our honeymoon at Sandals Montego Bay, we know that everyone is celebrating something but you think you’d at least get the treatment you are told you would & honeymoon package like pictured. From our initial arrival we were told our room was not ready and we were taken to lunch, after about an hour we saw them take our bags, thinking our room was ready, went to club lounge & room was not ready. We watched couple after couple get their rooms & we were told a supervisor was making sure our room was perfect. After waiting over 3 hours for our room we are finally told ok come with me I’ll take you, key card does not work, employee gets housekeeping to let us in & were told they would return with working key cards, they never came. We received day of phone call, explained situation, again told that someone would bring key cards, never did. Called down asking status & was told to come down to club office to get key cards myself. Explained situation to someone who appears to be a manager and stated “so someone told you something and did not follow through” “I will make sure you forget today ever happened.” He did absolutely nothing. Our room had ants crawling all over it, which I was then told they would come spray. (That did help for a portion of our trip, ants still lingered throughout our room) By our second to last night still no honeymoon package turn down after letting them know 2 days we would prefer to have it done, asked again & we finally that night had a few rose petals sprinkled in our room, nothing like what is described. On top of that most of the staff there seem annoyed be you even existing. We come from the service industry and treat everyone well and with kindness & manners. Definitely not the service we expected or paid for, especially on our once in a life time honeymoon! That being said we will not be returning to Jamaica &!Sandals Montego Bay. We still made the best of our trip but everyone stated sandals is going down hill and appears to be true! Wish we could say otherwise.

First of all, we has to say, the resort itself has a very very beautiful beach, calm ocean, what is good for kids, and the gardens/surroundings are nice as well. So we give it the 2 points. But that is almost all what is good about this place. Here is a list of things we did not like about our stay: - Before our arrival we emailed to the resort a few times (about 3 weeks before arrival date) because we had some questions about our stay, all our emails remained unresponded - upon arrival nobody welcome me as IHG diamond member - upon arrival i did not received my IHG welcome points, i had to asked 2, 3 times the following days - Upon check in we got a room, what was told to us, it would be a room upgrade. The room was horrible and we did not like the view. So we asked for another room (by phone). We were told, a bellman will come and pick our lagguage and bring us to another room. But the bellman did never appear, so we had after 12hrs. of flight, with 2 small kids, to carry our things by ourselves back to reception - after beeing in new room, we could not close the balcony door, it was broken, the maintenance we had to call twice until finally somebody came - there is a safe in room but no instruction, we had again to call some technician to explain this to us - there is a huge fridge in room, but no possibility of bringing drinks to room, only by purchase from store, what is non sense in an all inclusive resort - we got told upon check in, we can use vip club for eat and drink, when we arrived there, they told us, kids are not allowed in there, so we had to search another place to eat, nobody inform us about that policy, we were tired and just want to eat sth fast. by the way at this time we were only guest in that vip club, who would we bother then? - many times in restaurant the soft drink machine runs out of all soft drinks, so we has to drink from 1,5L plastic bottles and share them also with other guests. Assistant manager told us, it is because they ran out of Co2 so they are not able to run the soda machines. Surprisingly the soda machines worked few steps away from the restaurant, at barefoot (pool bar). - For drinks everywhere (also at lunch and dinner) they use old looking plastic cups. The plastic cups they wash so quickly, they still smell from other customers, awful. Not hygienic. - staff who deal with food in restaurant or at the bars are not wearing any gloves, they touch dishes or sometimes also food directly with bare hands, very unhygenic!!! (see picture) - some food you see every day, it looks like from 3 days ago and just heated up. It is like „for the guests just the rests“ theme - there are all day and evening some plates from other guest with remaining food in the hallway, very unhygenic and looking not very tasty (see pictures) - all corridors are also full of sacks with used blankets, feels

As soon as we were taken to our room you could smell the damp in the corridors and the smell only became stronger once we arrived to our room. The rooms were run down and there were mismatched patches of white paint all over the ceiling where they had painted to cover the mould over a period of time but the white wasn’t the same shade. We noticed there were large patches of mould in the corridors that we witnessed being painted over. We could see rooms being painted before guests arrival, all covering the mould. After 2 days we started to get sick. We had headaches, sore throats and were coughing. I went to reception to complain and there was a large group there also requesting to be moved because of the mould. We were offered another room but this also had the same issue, you could see the wood in the rooms were wet. The cleanliness wasn’t great either, the shower glass looked like it had never been cleaned and was heavily stained. I would never, ever stay here again.

The event manager Marsha was friendly, easy to communicate with and extremely responsive to all our needs she helped with every detail although we were planning the event from overseas! We continued to be be thrilled when we arrived! The space was beautiful and set up was seamless! The food was excellent we received multiple compliments regarding how good the food was from both our foreigner and local guests. Janet and Shane were wonderful! Top notch crew all around thank you Marsha and team for making the evening so special. I highly recommend!!!

|10.74km from city centerI’m a traveling fitness instructor with FitBodies, and this was my third time at the Jewel Grande. There is a reason I keep coming back!! The food is amazing. The views are stunning. The locations to teach yoga classes in are second-to-none! The accommodations/facility are constantly being monitored & upgraded (ie: repairing from the last big storm - a lot of work but there is almost zero service disruptions - very impressive!!) But mostly: The staff are like family. 😊 This year I took my husband and three kids, and not only did they enjoy the all-inclusive experience, but they felt like belonged there. My 11-year old son couldn’t get enough of his time with the water-sport guys on the beach: Dean, ‘CT’, Claude… he couldn’t wait to get up each day and hang with them. Our two teen daughters could walk around 💯 unafraid because not only is the resort completely safe: but it feels like you’ve got a dozen family members watching out for them at any given time! I had a birthday while there and not only did I get a song & a piece of amazing cake, but all that day & the next staff asked how my day had been. :) Special shout-outs to Kevin in recreation, Orlando at orchids, Aubrey at waves, Gary at the lobby bar (my son got his epic vacation nickname from him), Krisaine at LeBouchon, Kimberly from the spa for an epic massage, Shadae at Moonstone, and all the front desk staff and servers on the beach and in the restaurants & workers at the spa… … I could honestly just name names the whole review - no one the entire week made us feel like a nuisance, a hassle or ‘too much’… which is amazing for a family of 5. Definitely visit the Jewel Grande with your family - you won’t regret it. We can’t wait to go back and hang with our friends again as soon as possible!

Rooms were not ready for us and many other guests. No towels available before and after we went to the beach.
The customer service however was awesome. The employees did their best to make us comfortable in the situation.
The hotel itself was good. Food was ok.
The beach was good.
Be aware there is a cost for the chairs. Unfortunately we only got to use it for about an hour during our over night stay because it closed early and opened late.

The staff are very friendly, kind, polite and helpful, which expresses our gratitude to us and we generously recommend it to the staff. Some of our favorite things are the cold wet towels on the beach, the fruit kebabs on the beach, and the staff came to clean our sunglasses on the beach. We also appreciated that the bed was rejected and the room was straightened at night. Turndown food accompanied by turndown is also very good. Compared to other beaches and escape bay beaches in the area, the beach is very clean. The breakfast buffet is very good. The food and drinks were very well prepared. This was the best holiday we have ever had.

This was my first time in JA. Amazing all inclusive spot! :) A++++ service from Tiffany, Paula. Kayla, manager Andres, who I emailed and assisted us with booking reservations at the three main restaurants at S Hotel, and every staff that we came across, professional and friendly. Room was clean and it lead into the cabana at the pool. The marketplace has breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet and the food...*chef's kiss*. Definitely try all the soups!!! House cleaning staff check with you nightly to see if you need anything for your room. The S Cafe has yummy juices, coffees, and light snacks. Sangster Airport is beautiful and super close to the hotel. We will be back!!!!

Pros: 15-30 min walk from Doc Cave’s Beach , M’garitaville, One Man Beach, and Harmony Beach Park I opted for the private room with dbl bed. Room was quite comfortable. Maria, one of the most friendly souls on the planet, checked me in and offered lots of suggestions on things to do and see in the area. Hi’Lo supermarket at corner of hostel for all your necessities. Just a Couple of suggestions to the manager: when the bathroom is shared, and when one of the 2 toilets aren’t in working order, that needs to be repaired as quickly as possible. Also couldn’t hurt to wipe down the walls and bathroom doors every now and then. Stains show badly on white paint. Would definitely stay here again. Staying here, You will save tons of money to spend on nice restaurants and activities, which was the whole point of vacationing with a local flare. Seeing as we didn’t spend too much times in our room we enjoyed the buffet, pool bar & night events. Staff was super friendly and just made the experience unforgettable! Special shoutout to Zoe for amazing energy & entertainment every night! Jason the bartenders energy made it easy to relax and have fun! Another special shoutout to Jeraleo with maintenance & once again Jason the bartender who went above and beyond when my sister got hurt stayed by our sides and everyday kept asking if she was okay! Such amazing people! Would deff go back again

|32.41km from city centerThe resort is compact, so you're able to easily access all the amenities but not feel like you're on top of other guests. The layout is smart and practical, especially for families with younger children and older folk with minimal mobility challenges. There's sufficient activities to keep you occupied for most of the day, however, if you desire a lot of excitement and entertainment in the evenings/nights you will be disappointed. This was not an issue for us because we had dinner late and turned in early most nights. The staff are the real stars of this show! A very HONOURABLE mention to Gregg Stewart from the Security Department who along with a groundsman helped me to locate a cellphone that we had left behind. He was patient and reassuring in helping me to prove the device was rightfully being claimed and he made sure all the necessary arrangements were made on our behalf so that we could get it back in perfect working condition. Other staff members who deserve to be mentioned are: Adrianna (Dining Hall), Simone (Scores Lounge), Sasheen (Front Desk), Edvena (Housekeeping), Nicola (Dining Staff) and the wonderful ladies from Scoops Gelato & Caffe Lounge. Also, Jodi-Ann and Tanya from Taj Indian Cuisine Restaurant were the epitome of hospitality. Jodi-Ann was very invested in creating a memorable dining experience for us and Tanya had a real interest in our overall stay and well-being. There are some things that management needs to address which include: * No AC in the dining hall, Scores Bar and Taj Restaurant. We were in these locations for 1 and 2 hours respectively and we were sweating like pigs. I can't imagine the staff having to endure that for the entire duration of their shift (maybe even double) AND YET they were so still attentive and pleasant. * No restock of water in the rooms. We called customer service and physically went to the front desk, but even upon checking out, we had yet to get water in the room. This seems like an issue with logistics more than anything. * A few broken and outdated fixtures in the rooms. Our bathtub stopper got stuck twice and we had to pry it open with a spoon to drain the tub. We also had water escaping the shower because the door was unable to be properly closed. Overall, this was a pleasant experience. We felt welcomed as soon as we drove in and interacted with the security, all the way until the bellman helped us with our bags to the vehicle.

After going around the island seeing where everyone else is staying all the resorts are much bigger than zoetry. Poetry is just very home like and cozy. |3.54km from city centerThe hotel is on a beautiful well maintained property, the room was clean and spacious, staff were generally welcoming with exception for the odd 1 or 2 interactions. However major improvement is required for the checking in process, I stood for 45 minutes waiting to be checked in, this is my second visit, the 1st was long as well but not as long as this occasion. The customer service agent was apologetic and also gave us a bottle of wine for the delay.
I found the food at the main buffet area was quite limited, pasta station had for protein only seafood mix, entertainment was next to non- existing, not much excitement on the beach or pool, sport bar is a no as well
Overall it is a nice property, but not much to do within the property, it was good for relaxation.

|2.78km from city centerMy self respect dropped a few notches after staying at this hotel. This place is garbage! There were a large number of issues. I only gave it one star because there was no option to give it zero stars. Firstly, when we arrived, the hotel told us that ******* had not sent over our reservation that we made three days prior. They sent us away bag and baggage into Montego Bay with nowhere to go. I reached out to *******, who reached out to the hotel to confirm our reservation and we returned and checked in. we checked in because we had nowhere else to go. The following are just some of the issues that we have with the hotel. Electrical outlets didn’t work, wiring was sketchy, the toilet didn’t flush, the TV had no reception, there was no laundry service as indicated in the hotel services online. We asked and we told that there was no laundry service that day because they dry the clothes and it was raining. The bathroom door didn’t lock and it fell open when you tried to close it zero privacy for taking a shower or using the toilet . there was a gaping hole in the balcony door where the handle used to be. Air conditioner was either on or off (so you were either freezing or roasting). The ceiling fan didn’t work. There were no light fixtures, just bulbs sticking out of the wall. There is no smoke detector it was pulled out of the ceiling and you can see the wires (see picture) There were multiple light switches. We had no idea what they were for because they didn’t seem to do anything. There was an ironing board, but no iron. Housekeeping came and handed my husband a random brown tray and said it belong to the room. She laid it on the fridge, and we realized later that the reason that it was there is because there was a leak around the bulb in the ceiling and it was dripping down into the fridge where by the way, we are unknowingly charging our phones. In summary, I do not recommend this place I recommend that you stay as far away from possible. I don’t know who are these 10 out of 10 ratings on other sites and I’m pretty sure that it must be staff or the owners..
